We took gondola and lift to reach to happo sanso then hike through forest and mountain path to reach to Happo Ike pond , height 2080m . Unfortunately the weather is cloudy and foggy so we can not see the mountains reflection at the lake but instead we have seen so many beautiful mountain flowers . Such a great hike, highly recommended

Make sure to take left way if you wear sneakers and want to enjoy normal walk. We took the right side, wearing sneakers, no fun and tiring full of rocks route. Did not bring water as well thought was short trip. However, totally awesome experience 16oct2023

One of my favorite places to visit in Japan. The stunning views surrounded by mountains are amazing. The walking path is well-made, and there are spots to rest if you get tired. It’s really worth going up to Happo Pond. Even when I visited on a rainy day, it was very cool. Luckily, the rain stopped for a bit. Even though there was a lot of fog, and I couldn’t see the mountain reflections in the pond, which is what makes this place special, sometimes the fog created a unique view.

Very beautiful and not difficult to hike compared to other highlands in the world.

The view was absolutely splendid, even though there were a few clouds at the summit.

another breath taking place en route to mount karamatsu. this small lake is situated on the mountain with amazing views.during winter the lake will be frozen and you can walk on top of it.

The weather is not nice, can't see much, but still love it. . It do require good shoes and avg physique to walk up

Beautiful spot. The pond is really quite small, though. There's a sign with info there, but it's all in Japanese unfortunately. I'm sure the view is much better earlier or later in the season when there's some snow on the surrounding mountains.

Took about 40 mins from the chairlift to get there, walking without a proper break only stopping to take a couple of photos. We went on 4 June and the lake is still frozen. Still a beautiful view

Nice area to visit, beautiful scenery, the pond is a bit small though.

Hakuba is my new fave place. Hiking to the top of happo no ike was a bit hard but it was worth it.
