Very nice record shop!! 5 levels of different types of music. Some of them might be expensive but they are worth it!! There's also a café within the shop. Not only do they sell CDs but also vinyls. They also sell different types of memorabilia: t-shirts, toys, souvenirs you name it! It is worth paying a visit even if it is only for window shopping as the shop is big and attractively decorated.

A great place for music lovers. We found the place had more vinyls than the whole Bangkok shops combined. This is extravagantly amazing record house we have seen so far.

Not much to say here, just come and visit this iconic record store for yourself! An entire floor full of vinyl is literally heaven. Tax refund is also available. Highly recommended!

great place to spend time or hunt for the latest hit! a big store with music CDs, DVDs, magazines and more. there's a corner for the latest anime or game promotion. the products are carefully categorized for easier searching. and of course the latest album could be listened here as trial if you couldn't decide yet. love this place and just get lost in music!

Their City Pop availability was awesome. So many great CDs from popular artists. Customer service was great even with the language barrier. The young lady that helped me was very nice and patient with me. We were able to find the artist is was looking for. It made for a great morning outing. Looking forward to going back ASAP.

Not hard to miss since you can see their big yellow sign with red letters of “Tower Records” from afar. Around five minutes walk or less(if you don’t get out from hachiko exit but the closer one of course). The building has 7(or eight?) floors and each serves different cd genres from rock to pop to classics; truly a music haven for me. The first floor displays the hot artists and new releases so if you’re a fan of popular music you might want to look there first for your favorite artists. If you’re into kpop like me, look for 4th floor. Each band has their own rack/s and a quite complete collection of albums releases. Some artists’ racks even have not just music albums but other stuffs only fans know for example concert dvds. This store also sells magazine editions featuring artists you might want to collect. There’s a stage for artists to perform on the 4th floor, you can check the schedule first though. All in all, you definitely have to come here to complete your cd stacks.

I used to visit Tower Records at least once every week in America - They've been gone here for years now, so to visit Tower in Japan is maybe even more meaningful to people like me. Also, these stores have way more special events and signings! Floors and floors of incredible selection.

If you are into music, CD albums and related stuff, this is the place to go to when you are in Tokyo. Seven huge floors filled with CD albums at the Tower Records Shibuya branch. Lines at the cashier are crazy long but it was money well spent at this place. The staff are also very helpful and for tourists, if you spend more than 5400 yen, it is tax free. Yey!

Amazing location to find music and related items, separate floors for CDs and Vinyl etc. They sell both new and used items. If you enjoy music this is a great place to visit!

It’s absolutely amazing to see a huge records (CDs and vinyl) store of this caliber, both in quantity and quality. It just gave me goosebumps and nostalgia of the 90s when everything seemed so simple and the world so naive. Though the prices are on the higher side, I wouldn’t complain too much since this store probably is the last of its kind. You won’t see anything like this anywhere else in the world but in Japan, this quaint and nostalgic place.

Multi level record store which is heaven for any vinyl lover! Options seem endless while here. Prices are pretty affordable and found some hidden gems here. Tax free shopping available as well. The elevator ride is epic. They have stickers here as well.

Head upstairs to dig thousands of new and recycled records of all genres. Well organised and constantly restocked with an excellent selection of reasonably priced brand new reissues. While it is hard to find a bargain in the second hand records and all the best condition records are highly priced and instantly snapped up, it is worth a dig. They also have a great selection of Japanese reissues and regular promotions for new releases. The glass elevator is a treat as are the frequent signings and showcases from local and k-pop artists on the ground floor. They have a good selection of accessories and gifts. Worth popping in when in Shibuya if you see a vinyl enthusiast.

Since record stores left the Philippines, I have always wanted to travel to Japan to buy physical CDs. Thankfully, I was not disappointed with Tower Records, as they have multiple floors available not only for local artists but international musicians such as Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, and more. It’s an expansive store that will surely excite every music fan.

In 2022, not what it was a decade ago. They are finding other things to fill the space. Restaurants, a whole floor of K-pop only, the bookstore in there is also a shell of its former self.

Tower Records definitely still alive and kicking in Shibuya. Entire floor (think it's 7th or 8th floor) dedicated to Jazz, Blues, Classical and Pop (spied entire shelf titled Michael Jackson). Jazz CDs reasonably priced, you can pick one up for around ¥1500. Picked up some Keith Jarrett CDs. Wished there were more Art Pepper CDs, but in any case it's a haven for those looking for CDs. Don't miss it. Definitely a great experience, even if you are browsing.

Wide selection and good prices on new releases. Tower Records exclusives are awesome too. They have a floor dedicated to LP’s and they are sold at good prices brand new. Jazz section is a favorite too.

One of my favorite vinyl stores in Japan. Yes it’s a “chain” but they have an amazing selection of both used and new stuff at very reasonable prices. And it’s japan so of course the used stuff is top notch. I hope they continue to thrive.

for any American kid growing up in 80s/90s the tower records brand is ubiquitous with our youth.. the brand doesn't live on in the untied states anymore.. but it was great to see it thriving in Tokyo 2 floors of new/used Vinyl along with many CDs only available in Japan.. very affordable prices of 1200 Yen for mant single CDs.. must stop for nostalgic reasons.. I even bought a few things

Biggest music market I've ever been. They have pretty much every CD released in Japan (national and international bands) over history. 7 floors full of music of all genres from Japan and the World. If it is difficult to find feel free to ask the staff to help you.

Really glad to have visited this place during my time in Tokyo! You get a feeling of nostalgia when you walk in and see all of the CDs, vinyls and paraphinalia - from artists new and old (something that is fading away quickly. As a Nujabes fan, it was amazing to see the physical discs of all of his albums, in his country of origin. The store has many floors too, where one floor typically contains 1-3 similar music genres. Overall, a must visit, especially if you're a big music fan.

Truly fascinating place, it is a really big store with many different sections distributed across multiple floors, including one for vinyl. There is a lot of promotional material for J-Pop and K-Pop acts, which seems to be a big factor for the store to keep its relevance (that and the fact it is in Shibuya). They also have a café inside but access to café, when I was there, depended on some promotional relationship with a band (which I did not have). Even if you are not going to buy anything, it might still be worth stopping by to experience the atmosphere.

  • 5/5 Martina F. 10 months ago on Google
Beautiful multi-storey shop where you can really find any music CDs! We were interested in the Kpop section and there was a whole floor with even some k-drama DVDs. The prices are much more competitive than those in Italy in fact I buy two Blackpink cds for 6000 yen that it's 40 euro.

Cool place and a but of an institution in Shibuya. Amazing that it's survived, clearly local still buy lots of CDs and DVDs! Well organised and decorated but could do with more easily accessible English translation.

  • 5/5 JD J. 4 years ago on Google
Saying that "this place is huge" would be an understatement. Really nostalgic seeing a brick-and-mortar music store alive and well, especially since it has 7 floors of almost every music genre. They also offer tax-free for purchases over 5400 yen. Worth a stop if you're a tourist, but check surrounding record stores for better prices first.

  • 5/5 Jeric L. 4 years ago on Google
A blast from the past, Tower Records is the largest music store in Japan where CDs are still the main staple of sales. The Shibuya Tower Records store is the biggest in Tokyo, and it is a place for locals and travelers alike to walk around to check out the most popular music in Japan and buy unique merchandise. There’s also a nice cafe in this building to check out. Recommend for all music lovers!

Full of Asian music collection. J-Pop, J-Rock, J-Indie, classic, Anime soundtrack, Hip Hop, Rock, K-Pop, C-Pop, drama, even accessories. You can also enjoy meals at 2nd floor on Tower Records Caffee. In the center of metropolitan, you can easily found station, restaurant, shopping center, karaoke, or bars around the building. On K-Pop floor (I forgot which 5F or 3F for K-Pop 😅), you can also buy cosmetics from Korea. Today (Feb 15 2020), I got a JPY 100 coupon for drinks at the caffee and Twice album's special offer for member after bought a BT21 merchandise. You can also pre-order an upcoming album release here. Some Korean artist or group has a signed album sold here. You can also see their sign hanging on the wall along with their polaroid photos. No music No life

It's really fun to go there if you like the music. I'm huge fan of k-pop and j-anime that's why every single thing made me mood up. It's amazing that I found the kpop album that was released 10years ago. I bought some Anime OST albums.

(Translated by Google) Speaking of CDs, there were times of Shibuya, Tower Records, and HMV, but the difference in the number of people on each floor was amazing, perhaps because the number of people buying CDs is gradually increasing. I can tell that there are people who like the development of idols, but honestly, there is no clerk unless I go to the cash register. It may not be a round for corona measures at this time, but it was too wide to reach the target artist. I really enjoyed the exhibition of Western music projects.
