HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. Once you are enrolled in a school in japan, If you want to move to another one, you have to start all the boureaucratic process from beginning, and so I found myself trapped in this school. - Take notes is not allowed, use desks is not allowed. One day, a teacher took my book from my lap while I was taking note of something that I found important. Without the chance to take a note, I forgot it right away. - They use the way of make people stand, walk in middle of the class, and perform the japanese dialogue in front of everybody. If you refuse, they literally grab your arm, and pull you to stand. - The teachers will never use english, and they do not want the students to use english too. Strictly only japanese. Doesn't matter if you have just started, or if you are on advanced level. - Everyday they will give dozens of  photocopies called "study material" which are a complete mess. Photocopied from here and there, without a strategy. Just chaotic. - exercises are not clear. - The teachers will not explain grammar rules if you have doubts, they say that you have to study them on the book". In my opinion, if I pay the school I expect the teachers to help me if I have difficulties understanding something. - basically, this school is only for practice the language rules that you previously study at home by yourself. So, you will see that, practice with some japanese friend at home or online is way more easy and money saver. - They have a fixed narrow program to follow everyday, so, everything that will slow the lesson will be postponed. That's why sometimes, if you have questions that slow the lesson, they will not answer, or, they will, but just with a superficial answer. (in japanese of couse). my personal opinion: I found the lessons boring, confusing, pointless, with lot of useless random  "study material" that is absolutely not clear. Exercises are confusing, and often you spend most of the time trying to understand what they want us to do. And of course every further explanation is in japanese. They have a kindergarten teaching style. So, if you want to feel you are back in kindergarten, go for this school. It seems to me that they plan lessons and studyes without considering the student real needs, without a clear goal. The result is cahotic. I am happy with only three teachers there, that put efforts in theyr job. All the other teachers seems that they do not care. They become serious only at the end of the trimester, when it is time to ask for your money. Good thing is that the staff is kind and always willing to help for the different difficoulties that you face when you go to live in another country. With many clear and useful advices about visa, hospitals, taxes, etc... I truly think that this school was an obstacle to my learning process. I found only mess and confusion. Absolute waste of money. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. One more thing. They use "Minna no Nihongo" as textbook. search for reviews. .......... ABOUT SCHOOL'S REPLY ........ When I was at your school, you had never listened at my opinion, as well you had never listen at the opinions of my classmates, and, It is so fun that you took more than a year to reply to my feedback. This shows how much you really care about the opinion of your students... You keep repeating the same excuses, made to just hide the fact that you do not care at all to improve your services. The fact is that your way simply doesn't work. Clearly the teachers that you have are not competent as teachers. I learned Japanese much more easily by studying with an online class for free, where the lessons was clear and organized. Your school was an obstacle, and a totally waste of money and time. I had the best intention, but, I have been disappointed every day, more and more. ... your school is HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND. And if I could I would give zero stars for you. I hope that you start questioning yourself, and start care a little about the people that come and pay your salary, and that has been caught in your trap.

If you just need the visa go here. If you want to actually study Japanese don't.

Murakami sensei is the best ever! She is kind, respectful, patient and run the classes in a such vibrant way that is contagious. (She is patient even with me - such a bad student 😊)

Actualy I live in France and I would like to go to your school later, but I have many questions for you: At what age can I enter your school? Are there art options ? or language options (for example Spanish) ? Are there sports options?

IF YOU'RE HERE BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD YOU THAT YOU CAN'T GO TO ANY OTHER SCHOOL THAT'S A LIE, contact the other schools personally and explain your situation, I was stuck in this school for more than a year and I don't know what I should have learned with a year of only studying Japanese. Rather than that: Had a lot of trouble with this school. Not recommended if you really want to study Japanese, bad material, the teacher had said multiple times they're not played enough, and they will change your teachers every 3 month. On top of that you cannot study and still "pass" their exams, because they give you the answer in of the test disguise as "homework". Some teachers are really good, but you can see that the school is up only because they want your money. Please do your research, and try not to make mistakes. If you want a school "only for the visa" than, that's basically what everyone here is doing.

I first studied at Shibuya Gaigo Gakuin back in 2017 for one term. I had an amazing time but for reasons out of my control had to suspend my studies. However I loved to so much I returned to in 2023 and am set complete a one year and three months study period this March and have already achieved N2 level language skills! I can’t say enough good about this school. It has a focus on building speaking proficiency, so if you wanna become conversational quickly, this is for sure the place for you! The teachers are all incredibly warm and do an awesome job creating a fun learning atmosphere! The classes are also small so you are sure to get the attention you might need whenever struggling. While only Japanese is spoken in class, the office staff speak a bunch of different languages so awesome as well. Over all, I highly recommend this school to anyone, but especially to those who what to actively learn to speak the language and not just endlessly study Kanji and listen to lectures.
