At time of writing, Japan is experiencing the Omicron wave. They force all passengers tightly together on assigned seats that cannot be chosen nor changed even though the buses are not packed out, far from it. Instead of using all the space to social distance and make it an enjoyable experience, this is more like a strict school bus ride on hard uncomfortable seats which are rigid and small. Those taller than 165cm, your knees will be touching the seat shell in front of you that it bounces forward and back everytime the passenger in front moves. While you must wear masks on an open roof bus, you're also forced tightly packed as sardines in front together with the tour guide or bus moderator with no practical purpose other than to follow rhetorical rules. If you enjoy being chaperone for 1 hour, this will be an excellent way to spend your time and money. Otherwise spend your money with Hinomaru bus (it's red instead of yellow) which offers the same ride without the same nonsense.

Hato Bus is the official sightseeing and day-trip tour provider in Tokyo. the buses are comfortable and clean. the staff at the ticket counter speaks enough english to give you all the information you need. we took the night tour through Tokyo - it started at 6:30 p.m. and endet at 8:45 p.m. with an stopover at the ferry wheel on Odaiba island. One ride with the wheel was included! The only downer was, that the tour guide only speaks Japanese and the "audio tour guide" provided was not working so well. (i.e. the guide was giving way more information to the japanese speaking guests than to the one with the audio guide - the device was having troubles starting at the right point to give you information...). But allover it was an awesome experience to see this big city at night 😊

We had lunch at the Highland Resort, which was scrumptious and delicious. The tour was well-paced, with enough time to see everything without feeling rushed. The overall experience was very positive, and I would definitely recommend this tour to others. If you are looking for a reliable and enjoyable way to experience Mt Fuji and Chureito Pagoda, I highly recommend Hato-Bus.
