We went with friends and it was one of THE highlights of our Tokyo experience! (International Driver’s Permit is @ $20 USD at AAA offices and obtainable < 15 minutes once at the counter.) Dion was our leader and we planned on a 3-hour excursion around the Shingawa areas. Drove over bridges, through shopping districts, busy streets, commercial areas…in the sun, in the rain…waving hello to passers by, so many waving back when not busy taking photos of us! Exhilarating and ALL captured on camera. Stored onto a SIM chip and will be uploaded to our travel journal soon. We did the Segway tour in Prague and loved it! The MariCAR in Shingawa (near Tokyo, Japan) was equally exciting and among the top of our adventures for us world travelers!! It’s a must do. There’s not a more fun way to take in the sights from the city streets (forget the bus tours). Safe, fast as the slowest driver in the group, fun, unique, drive with confidence (thanks again Dion!) and memories for a lifetime!

Super awesome experience! We did the 3 hour tour in late October, and were lucky to not have rain. It can get very windy and cold, so dress accordingly. Staff are very funny and helpful. Definitely take the below into consideration before booking: 1. definitely make a reservation 2. get and bring an international driver’s permit (issued by AAA in the USA for ~$20, build this into your booking price per person when choosing a tour) 3. bring driver’s license 4. bring passport 5. get their $5 accident insurance

Fantastic experience is a must do for visiting Japan. Get to see lots of the iconic places including rainbow bridge, Tokyo tower and the famous crossing. Worth mentioning it’s no longer ‘Mario kart’ although Pikachu, minions, animals, Naruto and plenty of other outfit onesies are available. Easy to use kart with a lot of power and plenty of chances to ‘floor it,’ guide was helpful in directing the group and giving us facts about the area at every stop light (along with selfies.) Improvements could be made such as ensuring karts are working and swapping them out if not. (One of our group mates had issues with one clicking the whole time and indicators not working.) Fun, fast karts and a great alternative tour of Tokyo

This is a must. I've done it twice. You drive gocarts through the city with traffic. Everyone takes pictures of you while you're sitting at a red light. I highly recommend the night tour(3 hours)

(Translated by Google) An extraordinary experience. We went around from 2:30 am to 3:00 am. By following the guide's instructions carefully, we did not feel insecure despite driving the kart in Tokyo traffic. (Original) Une expérience extraordinaire. Nous avons fait le tour de 2h30-3h00. En suivant bien les consignes du guide on ne s'est pas senti en insécurité malgré la conduite du kart dans la circulation tokyoïte.

So much fun. Just completed my second your with them. The staff are awesome and speak English. The karts are clean and maintained. The staff takes photos for free at all the landmarks. This a definite must-do if you visit Tokyo.

This was an amazing activity. Dressing up in a costume and driving the streets of Japan on a cart, WOW! Anyone visiting Japan needs to try this. We went for a 2 hour guided tour at night which meant we were able to see places like Shibuya and the Tokyo Tower lit up. It was an amazing experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the overall cost was very fair. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Japan.

Go to Japan and this has to be done. Funnest thing we did!

We did the tour last month and we looved it. If you like to drive is definitely worth it. We will be back in Tokyo in few months and probably repeat again.

Did the 2 hour Shinagawa tour with Sam and had an awesome time. Recommend a weekend timeslot as there was almost no traffic.

This was truely the best tour on four wheels I’ve ever done! the karts are fast and no issues driving on the road keeping to the speed limits. The Karts were well maintained and felt very safe. Our tour guide was great, we chose the three hour tour and did not regret it! The best way to see Tokyo fast was definitely this way not to mention the funnest. The whole process is well thought out with zero stress. This will not disappoint and absolutely worth every bloody penny.

Okay where do i start? I know I've said this a few times before but this is a must to do if you're in Tokyo especially if you're visiting. I know of a few people that have been to japan and didn't do it and they regret it big time. MAKE SURE you have an international license or else you will not be allowed to participate. This was one of the best things that we did on our trip and i highly recommend everyone to try it out. We even had an older guy that had back problems in our group and he was still able to do it. Enjoy 👌👌👌

This is a must for any visitor to Japan. You don’t need to be experienced in “karting” at all. Being able to zoom around the streets of Tokyo and see the sites whilst in a kart is the ultimate experience. Staff are super friendly and take heaps of photos for you of the journey. For the price this is totally worth doing.

Great business, fun and enjoyable activity, excellent service. Really enjoy the night drives - the 1 hr course seems too short so I took the 3-hr course tour this time. Only down-side is the costumes didn't smell fresh and could use a wash.

One of the most fun I ever had in my whole life ! you get to drive a real go-kart on the streets of Japan. The tour guides brings you to popular tourist spots like tokyo tower, rainbow bridge and many others. You report at the office and change into a quirky costume of your choice. The gokarts are parked offsite and we need to take a short walk to reach them. Remember to have your international driving license.

So much fun! I recommend this to anyone going to Japan. Definitely worth getting an international driver's licence for. The best way to sight see Tokyo and you feel like a celebrity with everyone waving at you and taking your picture. All the guides are awesome but if you can get Tom, he's the best.

  • 5/5 Paul S. 6 years ago on Google
Hurry up and do this before it gets shut down! But make sure you get your international driving permit, or you won't be allowed to do the tour. What a great experience to be driving around Tokyo in go-karts, seeing some amazing sights, dressed up like idiots. I only wish we could do something like this in my home country of Australia (but that would never happen)! Our guide was awesome! Can't wait to go back and do a nighttime tour!

This is great activity to do in Tokyo. It is very secure and pretty fun! Our guide Muhammed did a magnificent job guiding and taking good care of our group. He took a lot of photos of us so we keep a lot of memories of this experience. The best moment was when we pass through Shibuya crossing, we did attract a lot of attention and almost everybody were taking photos of us like we were famous. Definitely a must do activity if you are in Japan!

Did the long course tour at night for 3 hours with Aka-san. Well exceeded my expectations and totally worth every cent! Starting from their Shinagawa shop, we were given all the necessities: raincoat cos it was sprinkling, mouth masks, eye shades... it was just 4 of us to 1 guide, who was very considerate and made sure everyone kept safe even in traffic... even stopping early on a green light cos he knew it was going to turn red ;)... route was: Shinagawa > across Rainbow Bridge > break at Odaiba for a photo at the Statue of Liberty & Rainbow bridge > cross back across the Rainbow Bridge > past Tokyo Tower > Roppongi > Shibuya... we pretty much went around all the blocks of Shibuya and crossed the scramble crossing like twice ... so fun! Many people waved and took pics of us and even gave us hifives as we zoomed past ~_~ > back to Shinagawa. We covered ALOT of ground and Aka-san was fantastic - took photos for us on his phone every few red light stops then shared all the photos with the group at the end of the trip. A souvenir printed photo was given to each person at the end too 😊. For such a busy city as Tokyo, the roads comparatively have very few cars...and most road limits were only 50 km/h- so felt very safe to drive. Only busy sections were roppongi and Shibuya, but Japanese drivers are courteous and tend to give way. We’ve been to Tokyo like 7 times already but we’ve never experienced and seen this side of Tokyo like how we see it like this. Highly recommend such a fun and unique experience!!

An absolute must do in Tokyo. Guides are fantastic. Best way to see all the sights and sounds of the city day or night. Felt very safe as well. Would recommend. Karts are very light and easy to control. We did the 3hr trip and went over the rainbow bridge and past Tokyo tower as well as through Shibuya

My wife and myself had a blast. Our daughter (12yo) followed along in the TukTuk support vehicle driven by Miyoshi. Our guide Rabi did a fantastic job of guiding us through the streets of Tokyo. It is a must do if you get the chance.

The best way to get introduced to Tokyo! Such a fun experience to drive on the road alongside traffic in a go kart dressed up in hilarious costumes. When you’re stopped at traffic lights, be prepared to have random people take photos of you! We did the night tour and got to see the city lights in full effect. The tour leader will take a ton of photos of you all on their phone and send them straight to you once the tour is finished. The karts are also very easy to drive. Just make sure you get your international drivers license before heading here as that’s a MUST have. You can also bring your own GoPro which is a plus, just make sure to bring a head strap for it. Will be doing this again when we go back.

I booked this online in advanced to make sure I get the good slot. I was coming during the low season, and the virus pandemic was happening. So I had the great opportunity of just being in the course with one other person and we were able to zip through the entire thing in an hour less than what it normally takes. I can imagine having to wait for people. The other girl I was with was a fast driver so we were able to speed through Tokyo (safely but exhilaratingly!). Our tour guide Nao was great. We were able to have fun conversations through the drive. This is something I highly recommend everyone does. It's fun, and some of the sights and experiences this comes with cannot be expressed through words. The drive up to the Tokyo Tower took my breath away. Going full pedal to the metal on the Rainbow bridge was extremely thrilling. I also ended up e-brake drifting (at the end of the tour safely) and power-over drifting (at the end of rainbow bridge with no traffic). Very fun! Worth the money!

Great experience, a must try one while Japaning 😊 great staff, we took the 3 hours one and it was a hell of ride. Tips. -It's cold nowadays and you're all exposed, so put that in mind light dress but worm. -If you are far a way of the Kart meeting point, put some extra time especially if you need multiple trips using trians.

  • 5/5 Judy T. 4 years ago on Google
Best experience if you want to visit all the picturesque landmarks without travelling too much. Guides also take photos on their phones throughout the trip. 3 hour course definitely goes by so quickly! Definitely an experience not to miss.
