My go to place when in Tokyo and while roaming Ginza. First, go to Ginza on a Saturday- they close the Main Street for pedestrians. Second, while the shopping is good, it’s the B1 level I like. It’s their “food court” so to speak. You can get lunch or a snack to go and find a park. Food is displayed in cases so you can pick what you like by sight. They have the best egg salad sandwich- which the Japanese are masters at making. Oh, and the cookie/confectionery selection - great gifts and pieces of art! I love roaming this department store and the streets surrounding it.

Shopping from clothing lines, cosmetics, and food. The basement is a Mecca of food stores ready to eat. I enjoyed shopping there.

Very nice department store. My recommendation is to go downstairs to the grocery section. There is one floor for grocery store and another for take away ready foods. Very nice selection of Japanese as well as other Asian foods. Also some western foods.

Incredible selection, staff very willing and able to serve, readily tax refund. And remarkable department store, with an extraordinary food section, but no eating area, one must take it home, no public area eating but restaurants. No cooking or baking ingredients, all prepared food. The coffee section has fourteen varieties, with readily available coffee to drink.

Well presented. Head to the basement for fresh groceries including sushi and sashimi (fuku included!). Prices are reflective for the superior quality.

Many Chinese tourists can be found in Matsuya Ginza. This department store is beautiful with full of fashionable boutiques offering cloths, accessories, household items, etc. You can find restaurants on the top floor, food corner at the basement floor.

came during valentine week and they had a ginza chocolate event at the hall. got some chocolate. this mall has alot of things. I didnt have enough time here but we lived the basement food section. that is definitely the highlight of this place. only thing missing was some tables so we can buy the food and eat them on the spot.

We visited on January 2, because we wanted to do the Japanese practice of buying fukubukuro for the new year. The department store has a lot of floors with a lot of stores and definitely a whole lot of fukubukuros.XD the typical peice range is at 5,000 to 11,000 yen per bag, depending on the items (cosmetics, fragrance, food items, etc.) and also depending on the store/brand. Some bags are very expensive.XD There were a lot of people, but not too crowded.

Still one of the best dept. Stores in Japan. The food hall area offers a variety of selections of food and snacks. Must visit if you are in Japan.

I love the depachika! So many choices, more than 2 bakeries. Yes, please! I bought some bread that tastes like sweet crack. Should be illegal! There are many high end stores on the 1st floor if you’re into that.

Contrary to other posters, there actually is a little corner on floor B1 to eat. However, it has all of 6 stools, so don't expect to find a seat when it's busy. Otherwise, the rest of the mall is similar to isetan, etc. Big name designers and not a lot of value.

Mall in the heart of Ginza.. foreigner got free tax for shopping on cash. Nearby area is a lot of branded outlet, similiary to Matsuya. Recomended to make comparison price between mall and outlet nearby

Had pretty good ebi tempura soba at the Restaurant City on the 8th floor here at Tanakaya (田中) for only around 1,800¥. Make sure you get the cold noodles for the best texture!

The food court in the Matsuya Ginza is phenomenal! If you get there after 5pm a lot of food items are discounted.

Probably more expensive than mitsukoshi or Takashimaya. The service in this place is lower than in competitors. Nothing special here. All the food stores are average and super overpriced. Service is as usual in this kind of places, very low qualified. This places will disappear and everybody will be happy. I hope little shops and markets starts happening again. This monsters has anything good inside. Probably just the toilets.

I love the store in B1 ( Seigetsudo) that sells Mikan Daifuku ( Mandarin Mochi) during Christmas season. Their yuzu cake was delicious too.

Matsuya Ginza is the first "depaato" department store I visited upon arriving in Japan in 1987. High end, with great service and high prices to match. The white gloved service is what you go to a place like this to experience. Don't expect to barter, or any discounts. Still, it's worth a look!

We stumbled in here by accident leaving the subway and spent hours amazed by all the food and stores above. The smoothies from Yamasan were amazing! Definitely reccomend stopping by here.

Good departmental stores with many familiar brands. For Singaporean, please bring along your UOB card to get a discount card from the Tax Free Counter. They only recognise the physical UOB card. After that, purchases will entitle 5% additional discount from the tax-free price (on those participative brands).

Wonderful basement food market. But the supermarket is not adequate, to little item variety.
