A group of buildings visible from the west exit of Shinjuku Station. The curved building of Cocoon Tower is new, but there are many older high-rise buildings standing here. Cocoon Tower was designed by Tange Toshi Architects, led by Noritaka Tange. He is the son of the big name Kenzo Tange. It feels like Neo Tokyo. Buildings visible from the west exit of Shinjuku Station. The curved building of Cocoon Tower is newer, but relatively old skyscrapers are in disarray. The Cocoon Tower was designed by Tange Urban Architects, led by Noritaka Tange. Mr. Noritaka Tange is the son of Kenzo Tange, a well-known architect. The atmosphere is like neo-Tokyo. ———— Yohei Shirai Photo Office Photographer | I mainly do everything related to the production of architectural photography, including landscapes, people, and videos.I upload landscape photos that I take while working on Google Maps : )

Depending on your destination, it can be a more convenient means of transportation than trains or subways.

This is a large bus terminal located right in front of the west exit of Shinjuku Station. There are many routes in operation, so be sure to pick the wrong stop.

You can take one Toei bus from Shinjuku to Shinagawa Station. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes. It's convenient because there are no transfers.

Lots of tourist information and food available. But they mainly point out very touristic attractions (using the local public transport to reach Fuji - which is not cheap - and other very known places). Instead of following their advice we just explored on our own and had a great day walking around the lakes!

It's a completely different scene from other stations, and you really feel like you're in Shinjuku. Even in a different sense than the liveliness of the East Exit.
