This is the first time I’ve done anything like this. Sean made me feel part of the All Stars straight away. He has given me the confidence to achieve my goals 💪👍🏻

I signed up for 12 sessions after seeing a FaceBook post and speaking to Sean. I hit 50 this year and just wanted to strengthen up and make more sensible eating choices to keep in shape. I've had 9 sessions and can see a noticeable difference in my core strength & love all the nutritional advice from Sean. It's a great gym and everyone is so welcoming and supportive. It must be good if he can get me there at 8am on a Sat morning! I can now lift weights I couldn't even pick up at the start and can now squat holding a weight withouting falling over. So as my sessions approach an end I'll definitely be signing up for more 🏋😊🏋😊🏋😊

It was a huge step for me to swap a general gym to a more personally tailored one but so glad I made that decision. Love the sessions, love my gym buddies. We have a laugh but get put through our paces. My joints and body feels so much better since joining and the routine is great. They were amazing during lock down too.

Been coming for about 8 weeks ish now as needed some motivation after getting lockdown lazy! Absolutely amazing gym, the members and coaches are all really welcoming and motivating. They don’t pressure you to go harder than you’re able to and tailor it to your fitness level. Never felt more comfortable in a gym and would highly recommend!

A friend of mine recommended Sean Armstrong fitness as a great alternative and somewhere that would be able to give me both personal training whilst still maintain group style activity. Still a bit apprehensive I phoned Sean himself to have a chat and to let him know of my concerns with regards to just how much I could or couldn’t do due to my disability and how my knees would only allow me to do certain things along with the fact I was pretty much completely out of shape at this point. Sean was able to allay any fears I may have had and explained how the training worked and how it was structured around each client and their specific needs. I really was concerned I would be training with some really fit gym people and didn’t want my inability to keep up with shared small group exercise classes to impact on their sessions and be an issue. I needn’t of worried.... I was informed how each 1 hour class would have a maximum of 4 people and that each exercise was tailored around the requirements of the individual and although we may all at times be doing a similar exercise, the weights and duration of sets etc would be different depending on who was doing it. Based on my fears being allayed by the chat with Sean I signed up for the £99 trial month and started in early January 2019 with 12 x 1 hour sessions booked in via the really great, simple and easy to use website which lets you choose when you want to train and book yourself on directly to any available session. Along with the training I started a calorie controlled diet which I have done before with successful results but never combined it with a decent amount of exercise the likes of which I was to experience here at Sean Armstrong fitness. I have to be honest here and say that my first session with Sean and his colleague Martin was a big wake up call and showed just how unfit I had become. It was a lot more intense than I expected and I ended it barely able to walk to the car let alone drive home as my whole body was screaming at me. That session and the next 2 were really hard in terms of recovery as my knees and every other body part ached and it took days not hours to recover. However, 4 sessions in and I could actually feel and see my recovery in terms of aerobic recovery and aches and pains getting much better. Don’t get me wrong I still ache after every session and each and every session is extremely hard as regardless of your level Sean and Martin will take you to your limit each and every time by altering the weight, time, reps on each exercise and the hour just wizzes by! The range of exercises Sean and Martin offer within each 1 hour session is fantastic and you very rarely ever two sessions the same. You can even compliment / supplement your own small group training sessions with team training sessions. After the first 4 weeks I have dropped 13lbs yet really enjoyed the sessions I am really enjoying my steady return to fitness, no short cuts, no wonder diets but lots of hard work and effort along with the guidance of 2 real professionals guys to spur you on as well as the camaraderie of the other members who without exception have been warm and welcoming to myself and all the other new starters. That’s the thing with Sean Armstrong Fitness, you get the personal one to one training / meal planning advice and support but you also get to be part of a really special group of people who have all found something here training with Sean and Martin that keeps them coming back month after month, year after year, even once they are super fit. It won't be for everybody, but it ticks so many boxes for me that I would whole heartedly recommend it to those people looking to make that all important change in lifestyle for whatever the reason.

I may have said this before, but this gym continues to provide challenging and hugely enjoyable fitness coaching. I clocked up 500 sessions here recently but the coaches continue to tailor the sessions to my (and others) physical limitations. Dodgy knees doesn’t mean you can’t be part of Sean Armstrong Fitness by any means. Loads of different sessions times, additional larger group classes, plus really friendly fellow members produces a great atmosphere, where your mental and emotional well being is as important as your physical development. Try it. Join it. Love it.

I have gone to this gym now for a few years and have stayed because of the great results I’ve achieved. I’ve realised investing in myself is the best self care there is. The coaches are knowledgeable and their attention to detail is really what sets them apart. This is where you know your reps are of great quality and not just loading up the weight to get a half arsed/poor quality rep. I know every one of my squats/deadlifts/bench are full range and I’m doing them correctly. I also love the other members and feel part of an amazing community. From charity fundraisers to having a family of support is so valuable. Everyone is so welcoming and all abilities mix together and we all have a laugh doing it.

I have been training with Sean Armstrong Fitness for 6 months now, and I am stronger, leaner and fitter than I ever thought possible for me. Sean is passionate about health and fitness. He takes the time to learn what is important to you and he is committed to helping you achieve your goals- a truly bespoke service. Unlike other gyms that I've been to in the past, I don't spend all day talking myself out of going, I actually look forward to training. The small group training sessions are very friendly and a lot of fun. Sean Armstrong Fitness makes it easy to exercise regularly. Joining the Armstrong Allstars was one of the best decisions I made in 2017

I've trained off and on for a few years now but never really done any training in groups. I've really enjoyed the small group sessions, training with others and being coached at the same time. One of the things that I've previously struggled with is programming my training so that my body continues to adapt. Trying to programme your own sessions can be really time consuming and has been one of the reasons I've stopped training in the past. The programming at SAF has been hugely beneficial for myself, to not have to think about what I need to target each session and to just turn up and train has been great. Secondly the programming is great at pushing the body to continue to adapt to different stimulus. There's been lots of variation in set range, rep range and tempo, not for just the compound lifts but for the accessory exercises as well. I've particularly enjoyed the initial focus on higher rep ranges when I first joined, allowing me to focus on getting the movements right before more recently moving to heavier weights and less reps. This programming alongside the push from the coaches and the cues about form have helped me gain back the strength I had lost over the past few years and I'm now squatting and deadlifting more than I ever have. Being part of the SAF community is something that I've enjoyed, with everyone at the gym being friendly, even at 6 am! The community helps you feel accountable and has helped me to focus on my diet alongside my training. This along side the nutrition advice and getting an initial feel for my daily macronutrient intake has helped me to shed body fat and gain lean muscle mass in my first month. Also the coaches are great at taking into consideration injuries for certain movements and helping me to still work the muscle group without having further discomfort. All in all it's been a great first month, besides the existing injuries, I'm feeling faster and stronger in my sports outside the gym and really looking forward to what I can achieve at SAF. I'd recommend SAF to anyone! The coaches are great at scaling the sessions so they work for people new to training and those wanting to get back in to training.

I was apprehensive of joining another Gym after a break of a couple of years, my motivation had gone and I was finding it hard to go to the gym on my own. Joining Sean Armstrong Fitness was one of the best decisions I have ever made, it is a sociable friendly place and the sessions are varied and cater for all fitness levels, the coaches Sean,Martin and Scott make it fun so you forget that you are improving your wellbeing both physical and mental. So if you are worried about going to the gym on your own or have not exercised in a while, all I can say is contact Sean at SAF you won’t regret it. Maureen.

When I first decided to try Sean Armstrong Fitness for a month I was slightly apprehensive as I had not done anything like this for a long time but I was immediately at ease. Sean, Martin and Scott are friendly and approachable and tailor the training to the individual rather than a general approach. The small group training makes this possible so it really is personal training. The gym generally is really friendly and supportive with very much a community feel. After 1 month I signed up for a year as I really enjoy the sessions and already feel better in myself and feel that I am starting to achieve my goals. I feel much fitter with the added advantage of weight loss too. I highly recommend joining this gym. Training is fun with a great bunch of people. Don’t go anywhere else!

Been coming here for just over a month and it’s a great place to come, the instructors are knowledgable, supportive and encouraging. Everything is well organised and sessions are great and varied, I always leave feeling satisfied. A very friendly and welcoming Gym I would highly recommend.

I am not really one for reviews or posting on social media in general, but I also wasn't one for the gym until recently! I have never felt comfortable in a gym, and just thought exercise except swimming and walking wasn't for me, and something to be endured now and again when I felt guilty that I wasn't moving enough. I have totally changed my mindset and its down to the guys (and Becca!) at this place. I feel really lucky as what a mint thing it is to discover something that is great for you and full of craic too. I now go 4 x a week, and the gym was the first place I went when I was freed from COVID isolation. Right from the start, it isn't an intimidating place. All shapes and abilities go. I love the focus and attention you get in the small group personal training sessions and for personal training, it's really good value. The trainers all know where everyone is at and encourage you to move on when they think you're ready. I would never do that myself as I just wouldnt have the faith in myself. I have more than doubled what I can lift in less than 5 months, almost do a press up unaided and can now do the hard fitness classes on offer. I am genuinely really proud of myself for doing things I never thought I could. I'm sleeping better, my mood and patience are much much better and best of all I feel like my resiliency and faith that I can do hard things has increased, which as a fulltime working mum of a toddler is just a godsend. Best of all though is the sense of community from the trainers and other gym goers alike. It really is a pleasure to go in. My husband has just joined, and I've seen that happen lots. That so many friends and family members join speaks to the results both physical and social. There are parties, nights out and all manner of external events that you can get involved in. Could not recommend more.

I was reluctant at first to join in :) flirted with the idea for couple of years but after careful consideration and research I decided to join Sean Armstrong gym. It’s perfect, small groups, which at first I thought might be a disadvantage (it’s not one on one) but I actually loved it. The trainers are very friendly, understanding and encouraging (not pushy) and the number of people attending a personal training group session is up to 12, which means that there are 6 people per trainer and that allows them to concentrate on each and everyone during the session but also for me it means I don’t feel singled out:) I also can attend as many as I want sessions- sweat and hybrid which creates a balance during the week and keeps me active and engaged at no extra cost :) I am not particularly social person but the group of people attending is so engaging it is hard not to feel naturally included and I ended up participating in all sorts of social and sporting events that The team organises :) Nearly 4 months now and I am happier, fitter and with a lot more friends and activities to look forward to :) ❤️

Having got myself into a bit of a rut with running I decided to try something new. I've been with Sean for a month now and really enjoy the sessions. Sean offers qualified advice that isn't based on the latest fad. The small sessions enable him to spot your strengths and weaknesses (as well as when you might be slacking off!).

  • 5/5 Claire A. 6 years ago on Google
Great place to get fit and healthy if your like me and feel self conscious about how you look and worry about being intimidated by loads of pretty, thin people! There’s no running or awkward positions pushed upon you, Sean adapts exercises to meet my needs and capabilities. Everyone I’ve met has been lovely and supportive, of course there’s mixed abilities but I’ve not once felt uncomfortable, or intimidated I actually feel like part of a group. I enjoy every session and I look forward to going, which for me is key. What are you waiting for? Get started today. 💪

I would recommend Sean to anyone who is looking for a personal trainer who is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do, who is approachable and happy to answer all your questions and worries. He makes sure you work hard and get the most out of your time, whilst the sessions are fun and the people in the small group sessions are great to be around, like minded and non-scary!! Each exercise is set at your level and adapted to suit the stage you are at, personalised to you. Sean gives lots of advice, recipes, tools and apps for you to track your progress and make sure you are accountable and have everything at your disposal to get the results you want.

Joined this amazing group of people last August and haven't looked back. The trainers are so friendly, supportive and knowledgeable and the members respond by always encouraging each other and striving to improve their fitness. It's a safe, happy and non intimidating environment. I feel stronger and fitter and always feel my spirits are lifted after each session. Well worth the investment in my future health and well being. I started my one-month trial in February and by the second week I knew that I'd be taking out membership. This despite being firmly in the 'gyms not for me' camp. The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive and the other members are a really friendly bunch. The small group sessions, with a maximum of 6 people to one trainer, are great for building confidence. I had never done weight training before but I can see the progress I'm making and am definitely beginning to feel stronger. Sean, Scott and Martin - you deserve a medal for putting up with me. Best thing I ever did.

I have been going to Sean Armstrong fitness for just over a year now. The personal training has been excellent. The coaches are knowledgeable and supportive and run fantastic sessions. It is not the cheapest but, in view of the support and encouragement that Sean, Martin and Scott give, it's good value. The other members are friendly and make you feel very welcome

I started just over a year ago after being given a trial from a friend and I honestly couldn’t recommend the gym highly enough. The environment and culture that exists is excellent and not something I’ve ever experienced before. I’ve been given tips, pointers & sometimes subtle pressure (in a good way) from PTs who are genuinely interested and want to help. The facilities are perfect and I think tailor themselves to all abilities, ages and starting points

Fantastic gym in North Shields. I’ve been very impressed with the Personal Training since joining. The trainers are amazing, workouts varied and a focus on both strength and cardio makes for great progress. A really lovely community of members and a very supportive, welcoming atmosphere.

I have participated in the 30-day PT Trial at Sean Armstrong Fitness. The whole experience was exactly what I needed to get into fitness without any knowledge or gym experience. The sessions were really nice with a variety of exercises that developed the full body. The staff was helpful and supportive throughout the process, ready to answer any questions or adjust the exercise to my needs or condition. I was a bit nervous at first about joining a new community, but from my very first session I felt welcomed and supported by the members as well as the staff. The atmosphere was great, which made the sessions more enjoyable. Even though I wasn’t a member for a long time I noticed some progress. The team at Sean Armstrong Fitness are very helpful with progress tracking and guidance if you want to achieve your goals. More importantly the sessions just made me feel great and kept me motivated to stay fit. Either way, whether you are a complete beginner or an ambitious sport person, I believe you will find Seam Armstong Fitness a right place for you and enjoy your fitness journey with them.

I recently finished the 30 day trial at Sean Armstrong and signed up to be a full member as soon as it was done. From the first session everyone was so incredibly lovely and welcoming. I spent some time at other gyms where it was a bit of a free for all but at Sean Armstrong you are so well looked after. The coaches are so knowledgable and so incredibly friendly tailoring the programme to exactly what you need. Everyone who attends is of variable fitness backgrounds and abilities but it really doesn’t seem or feel like it because the team challenge everyone individually while also creating a team atmosphere during workouts and sessions. I look forward to the gym now and have definitely improved in the small time I have been there. I am looking forward to what challenges come my way at Sean Armstrong ! Thank you everyone ! 😄

I’ve been running and involved in athletics for years but I always found an excuse to avoid the gym. I wasn’t sure if it was for me, what all the equipment was for, and most of all how I would know I was using it properly. I finally decided I’d give it a go and signed up to a trial at Sean Armstrong Fitness. I have to say it was brilliant and after just a few weeks I started to feel the benefit. It’s based on small group personal training which means you have somebody watching over you all the time to make sure you’re doing things right and making the most of every session. There’s absolutely no peer pressure and the guys will make sure you’re not overdoing it, but at the same time they will encourage you to maximise the potential that you have. Aside from the training there’s always a freindly buzz about the place and it’s a great place to meet people and make friends. Thanks to Sean, Martin and Scott for all their help and support. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sean Armstrong Fitness. Give it a go you don’t know what you’re missing.

Just can't say enough good things about this fantastic place! I joined in April (at the ripe old age of 58) having never set foot in a gym or done any regular exercise my whole life. I was really nervous before my first session thinking I wouldn't be able to do anything or would just feel out of place. I couldn't have been more wrong. The trainers Sean, Scott and Martin are total professionals. They were friendly and supportive from the beginning pushing you to do more but all with a sense of fun. Other members are really friendly too, nobody is judging what you can / can't do. I can feel my fitness and strength improving, every session is different and I love going (my family can't believe it!) Thank-you lads - you're superstars.

I wanted to improve my general fitness and stamina, but being north of 50 and well overweight, I was a bit nervous about signing up. But Sean Armstrong Fitness was highly recommended to me so I signed up. I'm really glad I did. The classes are stretching, but not beyond everyone's individual capabilities. And both the trainers (Sean, Scott and Martin) and the members (who have varying abilities) are really friendly and supportive. So after my 30 day trial, I've now signed up for the full deal.

As someone who consistently struggled to commit to going to a gym for my entire adulthood, at 57, I had pretty much given up on exercising. Then I started at SAF which has been a breath of fresh air. I have been a member for over a year and LOVE it. The trainers are all great. The small group weight training means you get attention as needed so that you are always doing the lifting correctly which is so important. The various HIIT classes are great too. I am fitter, healthier, and happier. I highly recommend.

Finally found a gym I love. I’ve gone from not exercising to doing it up to 5 times a week. Really great varied sessions and a fantastically friendly environment. I wanted to get stronger fitter and loose weight too and I have really achieved all 3. Just wished I’d discovered Sean and his team sooner.

I found Sean Armstrong Fitness through the best Google reviews for personal training in the area. I have definitely found them to live up to all the great praise. Perfect for anyone – no matter the current level of experience or fitness. I’m not a fan of most gyms, but the atmosphere at the Sean Armstrong is amazing. The team running the training sessions are really great – extremely supportive and very knowledgeable. There is plenty of variety in the sessions and they are personalized for each person. They just moved into a new bigger gym with great facilities. I’ve had great results already – they focus on improving flexilbity and strength, and I have made progress in both. I’m very happy with the results and the team – very highly recommended.

For someone who avoided ‘gyms’ for so long I really wish I’d found Sean and his team long before now. All the gym stereotypes I’d worried about were forgotten in my first session on my 30 day trial. From the get go - Sean, Martin and Scott made me feel at ease, building up my confidence and belief that I could lift weights or do a push up. Nothing is impossible to them. All exercises are modified or adapted to help you reach your potential. During my time with Sean and his team I have lost weight, toned up and feel stronger both physically and mentally. I have so much more energy which means I feel like doing more. I love the small group pt as it is supportive and guides you in the correct way to do things. The atmosphere at SAF is always relaxed and friendly and you’re made to feel welcome by everyone. I’d definitely recommend SAF.

I joined in September following a 30 day trial and I’ve been coming 2-3 times a week since. Even though it hasn’t been that long yet, my strength has massively improved already. I really love all the small group sessions as they’re tailored to your own needs. Sean, Martin & Scott really know their stuff and teach you the right techniques and they encourage and push you on. I’ve suffered with chronic back pain for over two decades and I can honestly say it’s feeling the best its done in years. Pain has significantly reduced and I’m moving about so much better in just 2-3 months. I was really nervous coming along at first but everyone is so friendly and there is a great vibe about the place. There are plenty of sessions to pick from and so much more flexible than other small group PTs I’ve worked with. I would highly recommend coming along and trying the gym, you won’t regret it!

This is a fantastic place to improve your strength, fitness and mental health. Really supportive, friendly and knowledgeable trainers. If you want a gym to come to and be supported on your journey to better all-round health, fitness and to lose weight, then this is the place for you. I thoroughly recommended SAF to everyone, irrespective of your age or gym experience.

I joined Sean Armstrong Fitness 4 months ago after a month trial, I have chronic knee and back problems which have in the past stopped me from training and gaining weight. I've been trained by Scott, Martin and Sean who have adapted exercises to suit my needs due to my injuries. I have already lost 1st in weight and gained muscle mass. I have seen a huge improvement in my back and yesterday managed to dead lift 50kg which for me is amaizing. The group are so friendly and you are never judged in what you can or cant do. The encouragement and support I have had throughout my fitness journey has been second to none! I already see the benefits of training at SAF both physically and mentally, it's a definite feel good factor when you train and I'm getting stronger week by week. I never thought fitness could be so much fun. I can honestly say it's one of the best decisions I have made. Thank you Sean Armstrong Fitness for your help so far, and long may it continue.👍💪

I’ve always struggled to go to the gym regularly and have lost count of the number that I’ve joined however since joining Sean Armstrong Fitness just over 2 months ago I’ve gone three times a week and love it. It’s not easy but I’m amazed at the progress I’ve made.Sean, Martin and Scott know their stuff and are always encouraging and all the other members are really friendly and supportive.

Highly recommended this place, really friendly staff, great atmosphere, there’s a booking in system on line so you can go at a time and day that suits you. The small group PT training is brilliant something different every time, an all over body work out at each session.

2020 brought with it a new decade, and after passing my mid-forties and seeing my waist line increasing I decided that this was an opportune time to address my fitness. It had been over 12 months since I had exercised regularly. I have always found it difficult to find the right environment to do this. I’ve tried the cheap monthly gyms where I have soon lost my motivation. With little or no encouragement and even less personal advice I have always failed. I’ve tried the body transformations where strict diet has led to a quick weight loss but no sustainability. It was at this point of indecision I saw a social media advert for SAF and after reading the content I thought I would give the 30 day trial a go. This turned out to be one of my better decisions! SAF offers a mixture of small group personal training and two larger group sessions (Build and Hybrid). The timetable of sessions is extensive allowing plenty of flexibility, especially if you work irregular shifts like me. The training facility is new, clean and well equipped. But what really makes SAF stand out are its trainers, fellow members and its overall “team” and “community” feel. Everyone is there to achieve their “own” goals and you are encouraged, supported and challenged to do so. The trainers are knowledgeable in the fitness arena and have also provided me with clear nutritional advice. The training sessions are great, never the same and always with advice on development and technique. My 30 day trial saw me going from a three session week to five sessions, something I would never have considered. Results you ask? A great start with a five pound weight loss. More importantly I can see my body changing, I feel less stressed and I now have more energy than I have had in a long while. Don’t get me wrong, I know I still have a long way to go, but I am happy in the knowledge that I will reach my goals with the support of Sean and his team. If you are considering the trial/membership I cannot recommend them enough. Every journey starts with a small step, so go for it, become an “All-star”.

I have been going to Sean Armstrong Fitness for nearly 2 months now. Like lots of people I was a bit nervous and apprehensive about going, but I can honestly say that I have loved every session. Sean Martin and Scott take time to make sure that you are ok, whilst at the same time, pushing you on with encouragement and support. SAF is totally different to any other gym I have been to before. It is friendly and welcoming and I love that when I’m there, I just forget every thing else that is going on and concentrate on the session. I feel so much better physically and emotionally and can tell that I am fitter and stronger already in the few weeks I have been going. It’s already become part of my life and I look forward to it continuing to do so. Thanks guys.

I went thinking it wouldn’t be for me but I am so impressed by the quality of the trainers and the friendliness of everyone there that I have signed up. The difference it has all made to me physically and mentally is amazing, so much more positive and much more energy than I have ever had. I cannot recommend Sean Armstrong fitness enough!!!

Highly recommend! The ideal setting for all abilities. Super supportive and relaxed environment but won’t let you slack off. I hate the gym but have loved going. Gives the best bits of a gym/PT (progress, look better, feel better, friendly vibes) without the intimidating atmosphere that can be in some gyms (for example, not a mirror in sight 👍).

I cannot recommend Sean Armstrong Fitness highly enough. I have lost over 30 pounds and feel fitter now than I have in years. The staff and members are friendly and supportive. The atmosphere is so good I really look forward to my sessions

I joined SAF in the CIVID-19 outbreak and lockdown. The opportunity to train with other using Zoom and some PT instruction has been very valuable to my fitness at this time. I would certain recommend to others who like myself are not venturing out of the house and garden area. Staff are friendly and the use of Zoom to provide instruction keeps the exercising safe, friendly and keeps up the levels of motivation. Thank you Guys.

Love this gym. Unlike other gyms where you grind out boring session after boring session on the treadmill or crosstrainer, at SAF the trainers have a varied programme that combines weights and cardio in a range of classes to keep the workout fresh and challenging. Sean, Martin & Scott work with you to help you achieve your goals, whether that's losing weight, lifting more, or just feeling better in your own skin. Because you're working out in small groups you get to know the trainers and other members really well; everyone is really supportive and welcoming and you quickly become part of the gym family. Since I joined I've made great friends, massively improved my fitness, and feel so much more confident in myself. I'm so pleased I took the plunge and signed up for the trial - joining Sean Armstrong Fitness is absolutely one of the best decisions I've made, and I love being part of the SAF family.

I have just completed my 30 day trial and I enjoyed every moment. Really liked that it was tailored to my ability and that I was being pushed to do more than I thought I could. Will definitely be signing up the in New Year. Thanks for a fun 30 days

Ive been training with Sean for the last month and I've enjoyed every minute of it, they're all such a friendly and welcoming group. I've loved seeing how much I can achieve with some friendly encouragement and hard work. For the first time in my life I have defined arms, wouldn't go so far to call them guns but I'm hoping to get there soon! Thanks for your on going advice and support.

There is absolutely no doubt about it. When it comes to ‘personal’ training, nothing can top Sean Armstrong Fitness (SAF). Our coaches go every extra mile to ensure you feel seen, heard, expertly taken care of and most of all, guarantee you have fun whilst you gather physical and mental strength. There’s consistently (and creatively) something for everyone to help keep you well educated, motivated and in the good spirit of things. There are always extra team events in the pipeline for members to take part in if they wish to and most recently, SAF put on a brilliant Christmas party. They put so much thought and generosity into making it really welcoming and fun. It was a fabulous ice-breaker for those of us who felt a bit shy going and certainly created new bonds. To top it, these guys are in the middle of expanding with a massive gym move and have still taken the time to sit down and hand-write a personalised Christmas card for each of their members. We are clearly regarded as separate, valued individuals (with our own quirks!), which is really special these days. I sceptically joined SAF in January ‘19. It felt like a big deal to make the commitment (in several ways) and of course, it is a commitment. But I have never looked back and don't plan to. After so many failed gym-joining attempts, I still pinch myself that at my age (way past the ‘middle’ part!), I have finally become someone who ‘goes to the gym’ and genuinely loves it. If you want to start to seriously respect your unique, amazing body; experience yourself in a new, positive light as your bones, muscles and mind-set gradually strengthen (and find yourself chuckling as you manage the un-imaginable), then make it your new year’s resolution to join the SAF 'gym-family'. You will fit in perfectly, as we are all different shapes, ages and abilities and you will feel very welcomed. It will be the best gift you can give yourself and your future self will thank you dearly…

I am a huge advocate that keeping active can and does help with body and mind. I started with Sean because I was bored of the same gym routines I was doing, I thought I was limited because of my spinal fusion, and I also wanted to help improve my mental health and well-being. I really wanted to challenge myself and understand more about health, fitness and weight training. Well, I certainly have learnt a lot and continue to do so. The coaches, Sean, Martin and Scott are truly dedicated to you and your journey. People start training for many different reasons; mental health, injuries, operations etc. And the coaches really take their time to understand your goals and tailor sessions to you. They have made a massive positive impact on me and my life and for that I am truly grateful. It really is a community where you will receive an enormous amount of encouragement, support and friendships! I truly have made some amazing friends since I joined Sean Armstrong fitness and continue to do so. It feels so good to be surrounded by like minded people where we only want to lift each other up, speak words of kindness and offer each other support. If you are thinking about starting something new, something for you, why don’t you try the 30 day trial and see what it’s all about, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

If you are wanting to train with great trainers in a relaxed atmosphere this is the place to go. Maximum people in a group is 4 so exercises are still adapted to your ability. You are encouraged and pushed to get the best out of yourself whilst ensuring correct technique is used. All the members are extremely friendly and no one cares what you can or can't do. I love training here and would recommend it to everyone. They also have a great social side as well, getting people to know each other outside of the gym.

I have spent the best part of two years hating my body after travelling for a long time, and it was having a serious affect on my mental health, yet I couldn’t be bothered to do anything about it. After joining Sean Armstrong fitness, my life changed completely. The physical aspects being: clothes feeling looser, my skin was clearer, I wasn’t bloated everyday like I was before, and I now sleep a solid 8-9 hours a night, when before I was lucky to get about 4–5 hours. For me, the mental benefits out weight the physical – my mindset has changed completely. I am so much happier, have a more positive mindset and outlook on everything, I have even learned to love myself and my body. I also struggled socially after relocating to Newcastle about a year ago and not knowing anyone to meeting and making some lovely friends in the gym in the space of 4 weeks. Everyone from staff to members are so friendly and welcoming, the workouts are tough but always make you want to come back for more. I always leave in a good mood, itching to get back for the next session. A new quote I love ‘you are only one workout away from a good mood’ It’s only been 4 weeks and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds! Thanks Sean, Martin & Scott!

Sean and Martin are great PT's who take a lot of time to work out what works for you as an individual. There's never more than 4 people in the group sessions, and the exercises are tailored to each person's abilities, so you won't all be doing the same thing every time, but different variations of it according to how it suits your fitness/strength levels. They're great at helping you get your form and technique right so you perform each exercise safely, and seeing your own progress is a real boost too. I'd never done any sessions like this before, but after the first month I'm more confident in the gym, and feeling a lot better for it too! I would definitely recommend signing up :)

I would highly recommend Sean Armstrong Fitness to anyone who wants to improve their health, fitness and well-being in a relaxed and friendly environment (tho Martin and Sean still make you work hard). I signed up in response to the “male over 50” ad I saw on Facebook and my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. The small group training sessions are just what I need as the one on one coaching and encouragement works a treat for me. So if like me you’re thinking “can I do it, will I be embarrassed, will I stick to it etc etc?” I would say just go for it. You’ll not just enjoy it you’ll also feel a lot better for doing it.

I hadn’t done any excercise for almost 2 years and had put on weight. I lacked motivation to go to a gym and was looking for a personal trainer. Found Sean Armstrong fitness and did there introduction month. Glad I did. Sean and Martin are friendly ,professional , motivational and knowledgable. They take care I do excercises correctly so I dont to get hurt and get maximum benefit. Sessions are lighthearted and fun I have steadily got healthier and have lost weight each week. I look forward to the sessions. There are plenty of sessions and booking one online is easy . It’s a great friendly place to get results and have fun doing it.

I lost my mam to cancer. We were both really young, I had the best relationship you could have with a mam and it hit me really hard. I found myself frequently drinking lots of alcohol, my eating was all over the place and I had no routine. I got to a point where I knew I had to get back on track health wise and change the bad habits I had fallen into. My friend who had also had a hard year had joined Sean Armstrong and was looking amazing. Her confidence had grown and she seemed much happier. She introduced me to the trial. I was really nervous to begin with. I had done lots of running, yoga and such like but never weights. After a few sessions I was no longer nervous and was enjoying myself loads. My routine has dramatically improved. I attend the gym 3-4 times a week. I have a regular bed time, I sleep much better and I even made the gym at 7am. Unheard of for me! My moods have also improved a lot. Sean and Martin are excellent. I am lifting weights I never thought I'd be able to and it's only just after a month. They continue to push me further even when I'm being dramatic or laughing because I just can't visual in my brain what I'm meant to be doing. The other members are so supportive and it's so nice to have 'banter' whilst working out. I also find being in a room of women lifting weights empowering. Now I've tackled attending regularly I'm working on my eating to hit my goal of feeling confident in a bikini this summer. (On reflection I shouldn't have had 2 slices of chocolate cake today!). Thank you Sean and Martin. I now realise what Jen has been chatting on about all these months haha.

I signed up for Sean Armstrong Fitness having been shown the 30 day advert by someone and being determined to do something this year to get into better shape. I have never attended any sort of gym class/personal trainer course before and it was honestly not something that I had ever looked at, in fact I actively avoided. I am not someone who “enjoys” going to the gym etc so knew I would need to find something to keep me motivated. I don’t own £100 running shoes or “gym clothes”, I just wanted something I was comfortable doing that was achieving something. I decided that doing the 30 day trial I would at worst find that it was not for me and could look for something else later on. Within about 6 sessions I knew that this was something I wanted to keep doing longer term. The first few I would wake up sore somewhere but this got less and less as the sessions went one. It was clear that the guys were taking interest in each person there be in 4, 8 or more. They clearly tailor the exercises to the person while keeping everyone on the same rough pattern through the session. After doing the 30 day trial I had lost 6 pounds; felt much better in myself and could clearly see the increase in strength in just that sort time. Having the ability to fit around shift work with the variety of times offered and the easy to book has no doubt got me to go days when I might have thought to just give it a miss. The food planning has helped a large amount as it has made me link the exercise to what I am eating and not just do an hour a day, eat rubbish and wonder why nothing was changing. I am still not someone who “enjoys” going to the gym but I do enjoy going to these classes and can see the benefit in this short time. That for me is the best recommendation I can give of Sean Armstrong Fitness because I know loads of people like me that would never have considered going to something like this. It would have been very easy to stop after 30 days but in all honestly after a few sessions that thought never crossed my mind.

I joined Sean Armstrong Fitness if I’m honest, out of desperation. After having my second child I couldn’t seem to shift the weight I’d gained despite attending the gym regularly in addition to “intensive” group sessions elsewhere. I was unhappy with my body, I was exhausted from two young children and I didn’t really hold out much hope in what Sean and Martin could help me achieve. Fast forward six months and I’m close to being happy....well as happy as I’ll ever be! Not only have I lost the weight I so desperately wanted to get rid of, I’ve more importantly improved my body shape, gained strength and toned up. Sean and Martin speak a lot of sense and support you as and when you need it. The group sessions are friendly, well run and are tailored to each individual attending. Everyone is really supportive of each other, no one takes themselves too seriously and it never feels like a chore to attend. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Sean and Martin to anyone looking to lose weight, gain strength and improve their overall fitness.

Before joining Sean Armstrong Fitness I dreaded going to the gym and never pushed myself as much as I could. Since joining I look forward to every session and know with the help from Sean and Martin I can push myself a little bit further. Not only have I continuously lost weight and changed my body shape, I feel fitter and healthier. The help you get from both Sean and Martin is completely tailored to what you are capable of and they are happy to answer any questions not only about exercise but nutrition as well. I have been training at Sean Armstrong Fitness for 3 months now and still enjoy it as much as I did when I did the 30 day trial. I highly recommend and would not go anywhere else.

Like no gym i've ever been to! I started not knowing the foggiest, I didn't even know how to do a squat but now i'm doing things I never imagined, the confidence and strength i've gained is surreal. Not only do the trainers help with fitness they also provide loads of support on nutrition but are always realistic about it, they know that people enjoy going out for meals and having a drink but they just teach you how to incorporate this properly to get good results! Away from all the fitness side of things it is the most friendly gym i've been to everyone supports each other and you always leave the gym with a smile on your face! 😁
