I feel sorry for the businesses that are still there! The food court has zero open places. The mall itself has less than half of its available spaces in use. It's very well kept, and clean, just hardly anything there. 😢

The only thing that kept me from giving this place 5 stars is the plethora of empty stores. If we - as a country want this convenience of indoor shopping - especially in south Florida - then upper management needs to get off their backsides and do whatever is necessary to attract business into this mall. A lot of it may be Covid related but not all. I remember this mall in its heyday when I would visit family here when I lived in NY. I moved down here in 2005 and it was typically the same as the malls in NY from where I lived. Today it is a shell of itself. It would be a shame to lose it. One mall in Rochester put a medical unit in one wing, a Dave and Busters family gaming center in a second anchor location and was able to mostly fill the rest. A multi floor mall in Alabama has office spaces on the upper floors. There are solutions to getting business in there - think outside the box and get creative as I am sure you would make more money with filled locations vs. empty and maybe even the food court would "reappear" and the A/C could be turned back on throughout the mall - I did some walking there a couple of weeks ago and parts of the mall are Not air conditioned - whether on purpose or due to needing repairs I don't know. The location is prime - the next closest indoor malls are Clearwater, Tampa, or Crystal River. Can't tell me there isn't a market here - so whoever owns this mall stop 🛑 being complacent, get off your backsides and get to work giving this community something it needs, can be proud of and supportive of once again. I have been to Syracuse NY - the alternative isn't that great - believe me!!!!!

It's a great place to do some shopping if you don't like fighting the crowds. I remember growing up this mall was the place to go. There was always a lot of people there but it has lost a few key businesses and as a result it has lost a lot of foot traffic but it still keeps going along. It needs some work to the parking lot but otherwise it's still a nice clean place to shop.

Could use a huge update. hoping they remodel and rebuild the mall with new stores. It’s a good location for a mall but it’s pretty empty and not a whole lot of stores left open unfortunately. lots of water damage from storms. Roof leaks. I wonder how all the stores that are still open, manage to stay in business. Hoping for a remodel.

We came here to eat at Harold Seltzers steak house. Never did go into the rest of the mall. There was plenty of parking outside of the restaurant. The lot was clean and not overly crowded.

this is just.. sad. gulf view brings back so many childhood memories of going here. but now it’s just sad. all of the food court is closed. the employees are underpaid and abused. i watched the janitor literally get harassed by a middle-aged indian woman over the food court being closed despite people sitting there drinking and eating. janitor tried to explain the food they have is probably from a restaurant / cafe and they just wanted to shop at the mall. woman stormed out and left. the store is practically going out of business, and the only things keeping it alive are the hot topic, spencers, and bath n body works. it’s practically a ghost town inside with 10-40 people in a 20,000 sqft building. it makes me upset gulf view turned out like this. just sad.

Something certainly needs to change here. This mall is dying a slow death. There are very few stores left open. Only one business is left in the food court. This mall itself is clean and being maintained. It’s truly sad to see. Dillards is the only anchor store, however, we could not access it from inside the mall. It appears the clock is winding down at this mall.

This was hard to walk through, remembering how great this mall was as a kid in the 90s. Much at this mall is vacant, with very few shoppers. There are some unique vendors that are hopefully doing well. Best Buy, the comic book store and Dillards clearance center seem to be holding the place up.

Good place to walk around and get those steps in with air conditioning. Many stores closed but the popular ones for Christmas shopping are all there. Hot topic, shoe depot, finish line, rue 21 Zales Dillard's etc. Awesome little spot inside called Nerd Quest to relax with the laptop. Benches vending machines and massage chairs.

I'm giving it a five-star review, because it is a nice place, with some childhood memories, the only thing that sucks is the food court just looking like a ghost town. It is literally a shell of its former self. Even if that sounds cliche it is very true. There are still stores there that are operating, but it just is not what it used to be.

Super sad mall, but it's got Bohdi Tree, Spencers, Hot Topic and Claires, which are where I usually go anyways, so I'm not bothered. Always really clean and kept up! I just wish there was something open in the food court, but the mall is surrounded by fast food buildings within a small walking distance. Great place to go if you love big empty spaces !

Rating this place with 5 stars because it has a 5 star liminal experience. Saw this mall when I was shopping at Best Buy and I knew it would be so fun to go inside. Very sadly, most shops are closed. Some notable shops that I noticed are still open as of August 2023: Bath & Body Works, Rue 21, Dillards, Best Buy, and a bunch of shoe stores. They also have a spirit halloween pop up inside right now as of August that was pretty fun to walk through. Although dead malls make me sad, it is always fun to explore them and their empty, vast vibe. Mall is still fairly nicely kept.

Good prices for a store fighting for its life inside a dying mall. The people are very nice and helpful. The selection isn't bad. It's a good option when shopping on a budget.

When my mom said we were going to the mall I knew I would be hit with nostalgia, who knew that nostalgia would cause so much emotion. When I was younger my grandma used to take me there all the time! I used to play at the bungee jump area and the play place all the time. I remember there being these electric animals that you could drive around and it would be so cool, and don't get me started on the food court! I went to the fóod court with my sister and my grandma when I got a little bit older, and it was still enjoyable. I will never forget the happy moments of Gulf View Square. I do hope they start to add more stores and rebuild some of the stuff in there. Overall, it's a pretty cool place just needs more attractions like the outlets. I recommend to have not only more stores but maybe like some claw machines, add some toy stores, some more decorations, maybe some little fun snack spots, like maybe add a little train to carry kids around the place! There's so much stuff to put in there, all you have to do is try and think of stuff! :D -

We decided to pop in and check this place out and see what Captain D's is all about. I have to give it a 5 star rating. We had the 2 piece fish and the Giant Fish Sandwich. Everything was so good. The hush puppies were amazing! Cooked really well and the fish was great as well. The Okra was a little soft and soggy. I just don't think it was quite fried long enough but close and the flavor was really good. The restaurant only has 5 tables but the entire place was super clean and well stocked as you can see in the photos. The manager came around and checked on everyone and that is not expected from a fast food place so I have to give them extra points for that. Overall it was an excellent experience. I would really recommend this place if you're in the area and need a meal on the run.

Let's face it the malls are fading out in this generation. However, over the past two years you can tell management is really trying to slowly turn it around. We've attended a couple events and the kids enjoy it. The food court is full and more stores are slowly becoming more available. I hope business is able to pick up for them in the upcoming years.

Enjoyed easy walking the mall as temperatures pretty hot. Eating places are now back. Fun old riding rides for young kids...yea at least some place for young kids can enjoy the classic fun rides. Smiles priceless with grandson. A few nice stores.

That mall needs a major revamp. The comic and toys stores are good and the shoe store. To get to best buy and dillards you have to go back outside.

Unfortunately, the small does seem like a dying mall. The new owners are supposedly supposed to be bringing it back and I do know that doesn’t happen overnight, but it still looks like a ghost mall. All the food vendors that are here aren’t really ones you would see in a common mall, most of them are just fair food places. Most of the stores are closed and towards the end of the mall it’s just one store that’s it. I unfortunately don’t see much of a future no matter how much money is put in that mall, but we will see…

big selections, really nice. good food great deals now that it’s closing and even better. the stores are awesome. nice thing to have around here honestly too bad it’s dying off. they should add a skate park

Sad and very abandoned. I hope it makes a comeback. I knew it in its hayday, but we are from from then The food court is all but abandoned, the Best buy access to the mall is closed. Most storefronts are empty. TJ Maxx has moved out, the old Sears building is demolished. It is almost abandoned....

Best buy is great but it is a shame to watch this mall deteriorate. Parking lot is a mess with potholes. Most stores are gone. Best Buy & Yancy St. Comics are the main reason to visit. When they put up the apartments I was hoping they would take advantage of the influx of people & renovate the mall but it didn't happen.

There’s no food court anymore and there is very very small selection for stores that are still open. They also keep the ac very warm presumably for cost savings. The kid section is really cute though and there are several tiny rides for tots. I would love to see the mall come back.

This is not for the mall area this is for Dillard's clearance. Amazing prices for good quality clothes. This place is better than shopping at TJ Maxx or Marshalls. You will definitely be surprised.

If you're expecting the worst possible shopping experience, you're at the right place. Be nice if they put some effort into attracting new businesses. Comic shop has gone way downhill IMO too.

I hadn't been in quite a while. It is like a ghost town. You can no longer enter the mall from Dillards or from Best Buy. Most of the storefronts are empty. The Bodhi Tree was the only bright spot on my visit because of the staff.

The mall is dying out. None of the stores are worth it. The food court is all but gone. They have block3d off the major stores from access inside the mall. You have to go outside and drive around to the department stores. I only gave this mall 2 stars bc it has some nostalgic qualities. Otherwise I would not spend a single penny at any of the retailers inside or out.

WOW! This mall has become a ghost town! It's Sad and disappointing. Most stores are either gone or closed on certain days, it was a great Mall back in the day! It appears they're trying to bring in new retailers, the food court is still open with new choices. It's a good place to go for a walk in the AC 😊

I have read many of the reviews and can see for many there are many who hold fond childhood memories from Gulfview's heyday. I did not grow up here but have lived here for 30 years. With respect to those with fond memories I can only state my experiences with this Mall. I have no idea how Gulfview can continue to be called a Mall in its truest sense. Maybe the notion of the Mall experience is a pastime. Covid changed how we do business. It used to be a place to hang or a family outing. In reality this place is empty by Mall standards. It is poorly kept outdoors. For example the parking lot alone is one of the worst I have had to walk on. I use a white cane for the vision impaired and the pavement is an impediment and danger while I attempt to use it. I don't like how empty it is. If one falls you might find yourself on the ground a bit before you can get help. Lord knows it is so empty it invites crime. I won't go to Gulfview Mall except to Sam Seltzer's Steakhouse since it has a separate outside entrance to the restaurant. The parking lot there is still atrocious. This area surrounding is building up and yet this Mall has been in decline for many years. What a waste of space. So much potential but if I could give zero stars I would. Gulfview Mall is on life support. I hope it survives new business models like Amazon. Last thought most younger people are stuck on FB and such that hanging out has a different connotation than in the 90's and before. Maybe that's one big reason why the owners are letting the legends of the mall era die.

I really love malls, but this one isnt very good. Theres a couple of stores open and lately theyve been putting more effort in getting more stores put in, but still pretty dead. The only shops I recommend are Hot topic, 808 island treats and MAYBE spencers on a good day. The amount of flies are insane. I’m not sure where its coming from and neither are the store owners it seems, but theres fruit flies everywhere. Bathroom, foodcourt, hot topic, etc. No idea why, but as someone who hates bugs, it is definitely a very big downside. However, still fun to go with friends.

I remember when this mall was full of stores, the food court had food and it was booming with people. Its starting to make a come back and I hope to see it revived soon. A few years back I remember going and there was only like three stores in the whole mall. It was very sad to see.

🫤 Went twice with a party of eight, both times the 4 steaks were way over done! And the appetizers were way to salty! Wow! No third time for any of us! Other than that, the service was fabulous. And they replaced our steaks, which were pretty darn good.
