The shop owner gives you a brief introducing to the fossil from 100 million year ago. Most of the species are already extinct. The price ranges from 10 USD to very high, each comes with its one certificate. It makes a great souvenir.

An expert paleontologist explained us about the fish fossils and the work of this association. They have a large private collection (meaning is not for sale) with fish fossils from the mountains of Byblos that are millions of years old.

A small museum, but it specializes in fossils that date back to 100 million years, the source of fossils is one area, you have a diversity of many types of fossilized fish and plants, the beauty of the place is that you can buy fossils at reasonable prices that are difficult to obtain anywhere in the world, entry is free, photography The museum is forbidden, the pictures are from the store, if you are interested in discovering new places you can follow me.

Impressive collection in a small little shop in the middle of the old town of Byblos, Lebanon. Learned few things about the revolution of the aquatic life; and why these fossils were found at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level!? Very kind shop owner who took his time explaining how these fossils were excavated. They only go out to the field to excavate when the weather is good, so we missed this opportunity during the hot month of August! Prices range from cheap to very expensive depending on the fossil size and details. They even give a certificate with the purchase with some useful info on it and to show authenticity of the piece.

Want to own a beautiful fossil that is 100 million years old? This is THE place to go! Even if you don’t buy, they have an amazing free mini fossil museum that is definitely worth a stop. (Ex. You can see the evolution of the stingray through fossils)

The museum in Byblos must be visited. Just as an excursion to the sites of fossils with Pierre. Excellent explanations of geological evolution. Almost everyone finds a 100 million year old fossilization of marine animals 700 meters above sea level.

Very enriching experience for all ages. I came here with group of school kids and all explanations were adapted to their age and they got to try to get their own fish fossils through a hands on experience. Not to be missed when you are in Byblos and even worth to book a tour in advance and go to the site where fish fossils are found. Pierre and his brother are The owners of the shop and they are so passionate about their job that they make you love it!!

this little museum is very sweet, and the little kid who works there gave us an excellent presentation. also, although byblos is quite touristic, the souvenirs are mostly generic around town. this museum has a selection of smaller fossils you can actually buy which make fantastic authentic gifts.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING THERE!!!!! My mother bought a 280e nautilus fossile from them, before purchasing we asked at least 3 times if there will be no problem to pass the custom, we have explained that the Chinese custom is VERY strict about this and they search every single passenger. They guaranteed: "Dont worry about that, as we will give you a certificate with a photo and serial number, with the sign of the museum, there will be no problem. What's more, 80% of our customers are from overseas and we've never had any issue. We also had A LOT of customers from China, it has always been ok" BULLSHIIIIT !!!!! LIAR!!!!! The fossile was confiscated despite the certificate!!!!! The custom clearly told us that nobody can carry any fossile to China, and we've been fooled by the seller. It is very irresponsable to ensure customers with information that you are NOT SURE about, just because you want to sell something! Very dishonest too !!!!!

It says a lot about Pierre and his staff that we left this place feeling like friends. Memoire Du Temps is full of extremely smart and passionate people. We walked through the door thinking we'd check it out briefly, but the fossils blew our minds! A fossil from MDT just might be the best souvenir you could buy in Lebanon. (Where else can you buy something 100 million years old that supports the work of a multi-generational family of paleontologists?!) After sharing conversation and coffee, we walked away with a priceless treasure—not a fossil, but a genuine sense of friendship. Team MDT, shukran kitiir for sharing your expertise and hospitality. We can't wait to come back someday and join you on a dig. You have not seen the last of us!

(Translated by Google) I didn’t find any museum at this place, I went around three times, there are only bars and restaurants. The workshop and shop with the same name is located on the street facing the Crusader Citadel. Here is the master who learned the word "Goby" (from "Eagle and Tails"). The girl briefly describes how to get the prints of prehistoric fish. A place to visit, this is one of the features of Byblos, which has no analogue in the world (at least I do not know).

I love this place and it's always a pleasure to set foot in the shop/museum in Jbeil. Pierre has always been a gentleman, displaying a lot of enthusiasm and passion, and armed with a wealth of knowledge and expertise. I have purchased many fossils from them, and recently joined them with my family on an excursion to the quarry. It was a really unique experience.
