The ancient ruins of Byblos is composed by a museum, towers, a big tower, temples, a house... the entry fees are 8.000. Lebanese pounds for foreigners (5.000 for Lebanese nationals). It’s a big aerial so take your time. Climb up the stairs to the main tower and enjoy the 360º views, walk around and watch your step always. BE CAREFUL because they are using pesticides and herbicides made with chemicals to kill the plants!

This is the main sight in Byblos and worth making the trip to just see it. The city was populated thousands of years ago, making it one of the oldest city in the world. The Romans and crusaders came later and built more structures on top of the original city.

(Translated by Google) Archaeological site, layers of Phoenician culture on the coast. Interestingly enough, for inspection, you can lay 1.5-2 hours. Everything looks very beautiful at 16-17 hours, in the sun at sunset.

🔵The city of Byblos🔵 ⚫The coastal town of Byblos is located north of Beirut, Lebanon. ⚫Because Byblos was the chief harbour for the export of cedar and other valuable wood to Egypt, it soon became a great trading centre. ⚫The ruins today consist of the Crusader fortifications and gate; a Roman colonnade and small theatre; Phoenician ramparts, three major temples, Medieval and Ottoman town, Byzantine churches, and a necropolis; and remains of Neolithic dwellings. ⚫It was continuously inhabited since Neolithic times, Byblos bears outstanding witness to the beginnings of the Phoenician civilization. ⚫Byblos is also directly associated with the history and diffusion of the Phoenician alphabet. ⚫Byblos was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1984.

Welcome to Byblos the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world. Do not miss in the old part of the town the 12th century citadel, the old churches, the restaurants with authentic Lebanese food or international cuisine, take a stroll along the narrow and old pedestrian streets having shops selling authentic items, and have a coffee or beer in one of the cozy pubs spread all over the place.

Byblos is a wonderful Mediterranean city. The sea is its soul whereas history is its blood. It is a must see touristic city with a mix of old and new. A mideaval market place "souk" with a great number of shops and restaurants. A mideaval Crudader Church and Castle. A wonderful port with a view as far as Beirut the Capital. A central place with beautiful decorations on Christmas. Fenikia restaurant is the place to be among others. Popular also among Celebrities where I met Micho of Micho Show. Must visit for people who love the beach, history, good food and others. Go there and Enjoy.

(Translated by Google) Biblos was dominated by different civilizations of the Phoenicians, Egyptians, Romans, Macedonians, Croats, Assyrians, Persians .... The ancient part of Biblos is a picturesque village by the sea, perhaps a bit touristy but retains its charm. The ruins of the archaeological site are not very well preserved but the site is charming for the contrast with the vegetation, the sea and the stones.

(Translated by Google) The ancient site of Byblos sits on a point of land that controls two bays, one to the north which houses the present port, the other to the south. From this port wine was probably exported, and a large quantity of cedar wood from Lebanon to Egypt and Greece. The site contains ruins of all the populations who have inhabited the region since its foundation: The L-shaped Temple, so called because of its shape, erected around 2700 BCE. The 16th century BCE Obelisk Temple, originally built above the L-shaped temple, and relocated by archaeologists. At the temple stand many obelisks. In the floor of the temple many votive offerings such as bronze and gold statuettes were found which are in the National Museum of Beirut. Ain al-Malik source In a depression 20 m deep was the Ain al-Malik spring. This is where according to Plutarch's version of the Myth of Osiris Isis came to mourn Osiris. The Royal Necropolis of Byblos dates back to the second millennium BCE and contains the tombs of the kings of Byblos including the Sarcophagus of King Ahiram, on which is inscribed the oldest Phoenician transcription, now on display in the National Museum of Beirut. A Roman theater, built around 218 CE. A Roman colonnade as well as a nymphaeum. The traditional Lebanese house The walls of the Phoenician city. The Persian fortifications.
