This is good to have such a green zone open to public for free. This area could have been a great recreational zone in the heart of Beirut. A lot of effort is necessary to upgrade it to the level and to improve the quality of services. Public awareness on cleaning is also needed, as well as enforcement.

Beautiful green space in the middle of the city. Quiet and clean with average height trees. Good for a short walk or relaxing.

So spacious and impressively well-kept. I did not expect it to be so clean and maintained before entering. I'm not sure there was a children playground (monkeybars, slides, etc) area though.

Visiting Horsh Beirut for the first time was a unique experience. Despite some of the issues with the city's municipality, such as poor management and lack of maintenance, it was a real pleasure to be able to find some green space and fresh air amidst a chaotic urban environment. The area was filled with trees and greenery, providing a much-needed respite from the city's otherwise hustle and bustle. The peaceful atmosphere was especially calming, as birds sang in the background and cooled breezes moved through the park.

The only place in Beirut where you really feel connected with nature. We DESPERATELY need these green areas to be extended widely and multiplied all over the capital and the whole country. Enough of concrete and skyscrapers! Not much flowers yet (some bird of paradise plants, Lantana, etc. ). Mainly filled with pine and olive trees but also Arbutus unedo (the strawberry tree called arbousier in French), pepper plants "poivrier", bougainvillea trees, mushrooms, cacti, etc. The place is well maintained and taken care of. It is very clean during the week, too crowdy during weekends. This miniature forest gives you a unique Mediterranean feeling inexperienced anywhere else in the world. It is definitely a priceless treasure to be preserved and EXPANDED by us for the future generations. Let it grow, let it grow, let it grow!

Great public park, with a lot of trees and greenery. The only open gate is from Omar Beyhum street, the others are closed. Family friendly. Very clean. Could use some upgrades especially by making the bathrooms functional, and fixing the benches.

It is good to have such a free green open to public area in Beirut perhaps it is the only place in Beirut where you really feel connected with nature, mostly pine trees walking and jogging trails, it is great for children and nature lovers, it is definitely a priceless treasure to be preserved, it needs some improvements & upgrade the level of services, please when visiting keep it clean, don’t harm plants and trees and enjoy this green area inside the city

With maintenance and some enhancements, it could be a great place in the middle of a cement city. Plus, the time constraint is awful.

It is a public place where you can enjoy the nature, play tennis, football or just have a walk for free as the place owned by the commune. There is a little cafe for coffee, tea or soft drinks where families come for relaxing and to have fun. Prices are very cheap and the atmosphere is nice.

There’s only 1 gate open so I had to walk all around the outside to find the entrance. Then they wouldn’t let me take my dog. I always clean up after him and it’s a big park so why can I bring my kind, little dog on his leash? I definitely saw dogs in the park but the security guy said it was from another entrance but I couldn’t find it. Other pet owners that don’t clean up after their dogs ruin it for the rest of us.

Probably one of the best parks in Lebanon. It is very clean and organized and there is a kids park and there are many nice pine trees. It is not usually overcrowded. It is a very nice place to sit and admire the trees. There are even football stadiums near the park. No picnics are allowed in the park and you can barely enter any foods in the park. The toilets are acceptable and the children will love coming over here. Probably one of the last remaining green corners in Beirut.

Horsh Beirut Lying between Badaro area, Kaskas, and facing the Hippodome, Horsh Beirut is Beirut's biggest breathing area and park. A public property since the Ottoman times, Horsh Beirut was rehabilitated in 1992 at the end of the civil war with the help of Region Ile de France, but has been closed since 2002. The municipality justifies its decision by stating that the park isn’t yet equipped. The pine park- Horsh el Sanawbar- as it's also called, was a part of Beirut pine forest: 1250000m2 in 1969 to 800000m2 in 1967; today it’s a triangular shape around 300,000m2, of which 30,000m2 are open for public use. Horsh Beirut is packed with pine trees. With a playground for children, tennis courts, basketball courts, football fields, picnic tables and lots of open green space to run and play, the Pine Forest is filled with acres of outdoor entertainment. At present time, structure and renovation work is being conducted in order to prepare the Horsh's opening to the public.
