I heard Beirut has only four public parks. It's hard to believe Mar Nicholas is one of them. There is no green grass and water accumulates into the pool (or fountain, I don't know) and it looks unhealthy for kids. It's a pity because kids need green spaces to play and Beirut is real short on them. Last time I went there I could see notable improvement. Someone had cleaned all the trash that was piling up on the sides and the broken Swings and such toys (which were rather dangerous). There were more plants and the water had been drained. If someone is taking care of the park, congratulations! You're a community hero!

small garden in Ashrafiyeh. it used to have its a glory days with ongoing exposition etc..it is still open but sadly very badly managed

This place is not actually a park, it's known as one, in fact it's like an oasis in the desert. as small garden at a cross road, where people could enjoy their snacks or read a newspaper in their free time. The location doesn't provide any outdoors activities for kids... but it's an oasis in a crowdy area
