Gorgeous decor, very festive and bright. The etched glass is a beautiful addition and the staff were friendly, delightfully funny, and absolutely wonderful. The food tasted fresh, was warm, and was actively turned over multiple times and switched out to fresher batches several times while I was there and we had a lovely time. Absolutely will be back again and again. This is our new "place". 💕

I went at 830 they close at 10. After sitting down and putting a few things on our plate we relalize pickings were pretty slim at the buffet. So I think to myself they well be putting out more there were like 7 families there at the time no way they would cut everyone off almost 2 hours before close. My server never came back to my table which I think is odd guess they didn't want to do refills and at the start she just brought our check. Some of are party ordered water for a drink she never brought it. And to add insult to injury the limited food that was out was like an hour or 2 old. I finally asked at about an hour and 15 before close when more food would come out she said never. We had all eaten a little bit now so we were obligated to pay. She did however give me the option to pay for the buffet and menu items as they would fulfill new orders. I shook my head what a scummy thing to do. I was specific as well can you do more sweat and sour chicken or teriyaki chicken (my kids like basic things) she was like nope sorry. All in all I'm giving them 1 star. If you don't want to make food let us know from the start so a family of 10 doesn't and 7 other family's don't have to pay gobs of money to leave hungry.

Edit: Tried it again on a Saturday afternoon. They were so busy. Lots of things were fresh. Our server was running 2/3 of the entire restaurant. Running back and forth between both dining rooms. It took a while to get our drinks and refills, but our poor server had almost no help. You could tell she was working her butt off. I will try this again, but probably a little closer to the end of the lunch rush Was not impressed. The egg rolls were almost raw inside, the dough was chewy and not cooked on the inside. Coconut shrimp was cold. Never got refills. Only gave us one set of silverware for 3 people. Most of their chicken varieties had no flavor. Just not great.

The variety was a 4 star, only reason for not being a 5 star was the majority of main dishes were chicken/shrimp/pork based. 2 star on quality of food products. The food texture and flavor tasted as though it was either left out or reheated, and since we were on site around noon for lunch, I would guess it was leftovers reheated. Price was very reasonable. We had 3 adults, 2 child under 9, three drinks and a water for $38 w/o tip.

Buffet with many options to choose from. Decorated in Chinese look with cute lanterns of red. Masks during this pedemic are recommended but not required. Food and service was good with a steady amount of people coming inside to eat.

We got there as they open for business (10:30 am). There was a nice variety of food freshly made and delicious. It was a Friday and it was busy, people eating in and many for take out. Our waitress was friendly and the place clean and comfortable. We'll eat there again 😉

Sorely disappointed……food was not hot or well stocked, egg rolls were stale and hard to bite through, dim-sum was rock hard. The fortune cookie was the most edible item on the menu. Wait staff was not attentive or friendly.

Not quite the variety they used to have, but what there was tasted good.

It was 5:30 so it was packed! They did an exceptional job of keeping the Buffett full of food! They were working like a well oiled machine. The food was SO good! I would recommend it to anyone who likes Chinese or friend chicken and fried potatoes!

I'm disappointed to say that staff are dismissive and service is almost non existent so far as to be rude and not even acknowledge a person as the waitress reaches over me and my plate to clear away the empty plates without even saying a word as if it was simply a bother. The place is in need of a deep cleaning. The males bathroom is a tight squeeze to use the urinal. With plenty of burgers to accent the tile wall! The sink had no lighting above it making this closet of a bathroom even more gloomy! But for a buffet the food is great!

Location was nearest to my motel. Atmosphere didn't put me off. Staff was adequate, but I really enjoyed the food. Best chicken in pb sauce I've had. Triple delight had good spice. Pepper shrimp was good, as were the peppereed mushrooms. Bacon wrapped skewered pineapple bites were a pleasant surprise. This was well worth the check of $12.40.

The Dragon Kitchen was everything I expected and more, the food was good but the next day I stayed on the 🚽 all day from enjoying the food. Delicious going in, not so much going out! The waitresses were sweet, kind and sexy. Would have loved to have tasted their kimchee! It was a good one time experience but I doubt I'll go back for round 2. Enjoy at your own risk....

First time coming to Dragon Kitchen, and I wasn't disappointed at all. Food was well-stocked, hot, and tasty, with a pretty wide variety of options. I filled myself before I noticed the rice pots, at the end of one of the bar lines, but with the selections I made, I wasn't disappointed. They have plenty of entree options, egg rolls, crab Rangoon, salad bar, and even a pretty sweet selection of dessert options, including soft-serve ice cream. The place was rockin' with customers eating in and picking up To-Go boxes to take home. If you leave here hungry, you weren't trying. Definitely the best buffet I've found in Jeff City, and I'm still kicking myself for not visiting sooner!

The only good thing there was the cream cheese rangoons. The chicken was soggy and tasted fishy, and my husband said everything tasted like it was fried and fish oil/with fish. Our waitress never came by our table again after seating us and getting our drinks, so we weren't able to get our drinks refilled. The vibe I got from the staff was very much " get your fill and get out" I was super disappointed because I was really excited and looking forward to having a great experience here, but it just was not at all what I thought it would be. Looking forward to trying the Chinese buffet in Colombia someday!

First time here and it is amazing, first off the food was only like $12 for all you can eat with a huge variety of options so great. The staff was nice and very polite I love it

The food is what you would typically expect from a Chinese buffet. Not particularly fresh, but not bad. They did have a large variety, including a coconut shrimp that was pretty good. They also have sushi. The atmosphere was probably my favorite part of the experience. It was also clean.

My recent visit to Dragon Kitchen was unfortunately far from satisfactory. The array of food options and their quality left much to be desired for a Chinese buffet. The limited selection and compromised taste fell short of the expected standard, leaving a disappointing impression. Hygiene was a significant concern at Dragon Kitchen, as the cleanliness standards were substandard throughout the premises. Maintenance issues were also noticeable, detracting from the overall dining atmosphere and comfort. The most disheartening aspect was the "pork" egg rolls, which, instead of genuine pork filling, appeared to contain imitation bacon bits. This discrepancy not only misled but also affected the authenticity and taste of the dish, resulting in a disappointing culinary experience. In summary, Dragon Kitchen's shortcomings in food quality, selection, cleanliness, and maintenance detracted significantly from the overall dining experience. Addressing these areas of improvement is crucial to restore confidence among potential customers and enhance the reputation of the establishment.

Most the food was good, all the egg rolls tasted old maybe reheated from previous day, rubbery just wasn't edible, which I was mostly disappointed about, the broccoli in the beef was really under cooked, my husband enjoyed the desserts.

Food was very good, but the place was so over crowded and the waitress we had wasn’t the kindest. The customers in front of us were having issues and she completely dismissed their concerns. She also gave us the wrong bill and was trying to say I was wrong until she seen that the bill had 4 children on it which we didn’t have any children. May have a better experience if it isn’t so crowded.

Food was good. The restaurant was out of some popular items, and they have a message on the door that explains why. The items on their buffet were hot and refilled promptly. Customer service was fantastic!

Save your money. My waitress was nice, but the lady upfront was absolutely rude. They turned off the ice cream maker at 8, but don’t close until 10p…food and service is NOT worth the cheap price it is. And that’s saying a lot. Drive to Columbia to get a decent Chinese buffet..China Garden..good food, decent price, and great service. You’ll thank me later.

Their peanut butter chicken is amazing and their chicken egg rolls are my favorite. Our waiter forgot about us so we didn't get refills the entire time we were there but they were really busy so we understand.

3 stars is being more than fair!! Looked, on the outside was cautious but that's how we've always found great food that was not the case. The reviews trick you into thinking this is a great place, and value. It's not, and to be frank don't know how it passes a health check bcause they were using cardboard laying under where parts of the roof are falling in plus other things . Let's start with the pros Pros: good variety (except for the desserts) good crabmeat racoon Cons: Food was empty, no sushi, freaking 6.50 for a 3 year old., water damage everywhere, they should of put the buffet in the right side dining, not on top of the door, and check out!! Where you can't move and people are elbowing each other for room, Which made it packed more people than food. It was so messy, the roof was damage window damage. The dessert area was dirty, and scary, server never popped over to see if we needed anything. It, has potential, If they move things around, and patch a few things up.

Plenty of options on the buffet, even for picky eaters. The prices are reasonable, and the food is good. The only thing I don't like on the buffet is the coconut shrimp. It does not look or taste like coconut shrimp. In fact, they pour some kind of white sauce over it.

The food was really good. They only had one waitress running tables and the poor girl was running her butt off. I noticed a couple others sitting behind the register playing on their phones. I believe they should have been helping the young waitress out. But other than that the food was really good

We went late, but the food was still good. Service was good. Could offer a few more options in entrees and deserts in my opinion. And make sure the sushi wasn't drowning in the ice water. Other than those two things it was still pretty good. My daughter liked it, which is saying something because she hates everything.

Really unexpectedly great place. The food was very good. Sushi was completely unexpected and delicious! I wish there had been more types of that. The stuffed mussels and coconut shrimp and the crab bake were all outstanding in my opinion. I wish I lived closer!

Normally I have no issues with this place. Love eating here. But don’t waste your time going after 8:00 p.m. because it’s a bare bar and they didn’t seem real interested in keeping it stocked when I asked. Weird considering they are open until 10:00 pm.

This review will be very short, direct and 100% honest & truthful. I have been a fan of oriental food for years. Probably have ate at every Chinese, Korean, and Thai restaurant from Jefferson City, up to Columbia and down to Rolla. Dragon Kitchen is my "go to" restaurant of choice. They have earned it. The following is not a false compliment; "Their food is so tasty it is a pleasure to sit back and enjoy. The variety goes from crab rangoo to sushi, from Vietnamese chicken to some very tasty shrimp dishes". Now here is big deal that I do believe is a fact and that is "The price you pay for what you get MAKES DRAGON KITCHEN VERY PROBABLY THE BEST BARGAIN (by far) THAT YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE!). And that's a fact.

I’ve been going to Dragon Kitchen for over 21 years; my son and daughter both grew up regularly eating here with me; and now a third generation, my granddaughter, has also fallen in love with eating at DK. We love the food and the service has ALWAYS amazing!!! ♥️

There is a large variety of food options on the buffet and it's very affordable. The layout is poor and it can be tricky getting to and from your seat. It can be crowded, but I don't blame people for wanting to eat here.

  • 3/5 Alan S. 2 years ago on Google
Food was good, hot, and always available. The waitstaff seemed very aggrevated that they had to serve me. My drink stayed empty most of the time, which wasn't really a bad thing because the ice tea tasted very old...like it sat out all day.

I've eaten here a couple times not too bad it seemed like the food changed from like the regular Chinese to a Vietnamese which is fine taste is good. The place seemed a little dark services okay about a six on a scale of 10. Came here with my daughter and her friend a pretty good no chocolate syrup for the ice cream a lot of selection was a good thing on the buffet. Evening is $10 per person for adults and drinks is a $1.50.

Always good but this time no fried rice crab Rangoon did not have hardly any filling in them and they were really chewy like they had been there for a long time. Other than that t was good especially the peanut butter chicken!
