Ordered fried chicken and French fries. Unable to check how it looked upon picking up due to being wrapped in plastic wrap. Once I got home I could Clearly tell food was cooked in old oil. Chicken bread was no flavor and French fries hard and not salted.

First time here, but have eaten at one in Frederick. No comparison. Ca.e in an hour and 15 mins prior to closing. Only two other tables taken. After sitting for 10 mins watching the servers talking by the hostest desk one finally came over and took our drink order, though she was not our server. Then a second gal came over and took our food order, not our server either. So this was nice they picked up the slack. Our server finally came out and from half way across the room asked what our drinks were so she could refill them. Our food came out shortly after. The sandwiches had a nice presentation and were quite tasty. We asked about the cole slaw side and she came back out with the below pic. It was in a small condiment container. Looked like it had been sitting out all day. Needless to, we didn't eat it. Doubt we will be back.

Thought we would give the little place a chance. It had a 4.1 star rating with over 2k reviews. I’m not sure how the ratings was over a 3 star. The food was okay but over priced for the quality. However the quantity was plenty. The service was friendly for what we seen of the waitress. She didn’t clear the empty cups or plates away. Now for the atmosphere it smelled AWFUL! Like a port-a-potty and kitty litter box. Needless to say we won’t be back.

I chose Mountain View Diner to order take out dinner for my family while they finished a local water sports expedition. Very friendly, prompt and professional service from Casey, as well as a check-in from another staff member after I'd been waiting <20mins for my order. Unfortunately, my own cheeseburger with fries was short cheese and fries (pictured). Normally I would have driven back, but being 20 minutes away and factoring cook time on replacement order and return trip, I would have entirely missed dinner with my family. The two pork chop without sauce dinners came out well, and with the ordered fries (no salt?). Very light on the applesauce if any at all, but no complaints from either my family members. Regardless I would still happily give Mountain View Diner a second try if in the area again. Edit: sentence structure

Went there today, Saturday morning with the family and had a great experience. Home cook country style. We enjoy the simple dining experience. They’re short on staff but the servers are at their best to accommodate everyone. Thanks to them and I can’t complain. The portions are more than great. Eggs are real, not boxed. Abundance of coffee and our server checking on us if we need anything. Thanks! Will go there again.

They hit all the high points for a diner. Solid menu, coffee mugs, huge portions, friendly service. What was impressive was the use of Lox in many of the dishes. Next, I would try the deluxe bagel. Had the NY Benedict. The hollandaise sauce seems to be made fresh based on how it seemed to break. It's worth the stop.

Huge portions and delicious food. Laura was a fantastic server and had great recommendations for our first time to the diner. We sat with our pooch on the patio and there was a water bowl for her. French toast was superb and so was the Eggs Benedict. We'll definitely be back.

We are a family of 5 (2 parents, 3 kids under 10) and this place was fantastic ! The portions, price, and quality far exceeded expectations ! The bacon was cooked perfectly, the pancakes light and delicious, the omelettes were giant and again the price was really surprising. When we eat out with 5 people the check drop is usually close to $100, the same meal a month prior for us at IHOP was $72, at the Mountain View diner it’s was $46, I had to double check with our server we received the right check, seriously this is a great diner !

This is such a wonderful throwback to the 50’s—just loved it. And the food is delicious. I was craving onion rings so Kathis (great waitstaff) brought them out right away—crispy and yummy. However, I had breakfast on my mind, so I had French toast. My friend had eggs, scrapple, and fried potatoes—they’re sliced real thin and fried like my mom used to make. I didn’t taste her food, but even across the table I could see they were fried just right. My French toast was ample and crispy delicious. And the desserts—all house made—oh my goodness, the cheesecake was the best I’ve ever eaten. Forget NYC, go to Mountain View Diner. It will become your favorite!

My sister and I were visiting Harper's Ferry from Delaware, and stopped here for breakfast yesterday. When we walked in, we were very warmly greeted by the hostess, who led us to our table. The waitress we had was very kind, her friendliness and mood made the experience all the better. She was very patient and understanding when it came to us taking a long time to decide. The food came out quickly, and was very tasty -- we both got Eggs Benedict, her with avocado and me with smoked salmon, both reasonably priced and very tasty. We also got the silver dollar pancakes (banana pecan), and were pleasantly surprised by the size of them. I would highly recommend this diner to anyone in-state and out-of-state! Great way to meet locals, too. NOTE: Bring your check to the front counter, don't wait for the waiter/waitress to collect your card, they don't seem to do payments at the tables. The only negative was the smell when we walked in -- it smells musty and old. However, we didn't smell it anymore after a few minutes. Not a deal breaker by far. There are other reviews that tell you not to trust the 4-star reviews, and that this place is horrible; I say trust the 4-star reviews. Unless you're going in expecting perfectly plated dishes with top of the line ingredients, this place is fantastic with great diner food and a large selection.

Delicious food. Very large portions. Daily lunch and dinner specials. All day breakfast. Homemade desserts. Large dining area with tables and booths. Very friendly and helpful employees. Reasonable prices. Large parking lot. Customer restrooms. Recommend the baked salmon.

Oh my God! This place is haven for comfort food! Absolutely the best home made Breakfast you'll eat! The dinners are big plates of yum! Not to mention their desserts that you can pick from in their clear case when u walk in.. Huge fresh pies, cakes and just pure joy of happiness! I highly recommend after a long night of gambling or anytime u want home made food.. you won't be disappointed, I have not had one meal there that was bad!

First time and last, the restaurant was pretty empty when we got there but the hostess sat us by the restrooms. My husband and I ordered drinks and mozzarella sticks. When the server brought us our mozzarella sticks, my husband cut open one to eat, thinking it would be HOT and gooey like a mozzarella stick should be but instead it was COLD. Something this simple, they couldn't do right, so when the waitress came back, to take our order, we told her about the mozzarella sticks and asked for our check. We paid for our drinks and left. No apologies, she didn't even seem surprised. Wish we would of read the reviews before we had this experience.

Terrible foul smell of sour milk or vomit upon entering. So bad I left the group and skipped ordering food. The rest of the group said the food was poor quality but portions were large.
