The
Black
was
my
home
course
for
15
years
from
the
early
70s
to
the
mid
80s
and
is
(and
was
then)
a
great
golf
course.
I've
played
the
golf
course
over
300
times
and,
of
course,
know
it
very
well.
I
played
it
this
week
for
the
1st
time
in
about
20
years
and
was
struck
by
how
much
more
difficult
the
course
plays
now
than
back
then
because
the
fairways
have
been
narrowed
and
the
rough
is
so
thick
it's
almost
impossible
to
get
a
ball
out
of
it
unless
you
use
a
short
iron.
The
White
tees,
at
6700
yards,
are
easily
the
equivalent
(in
terms
of
difficulty)
as
the
Blue
tees
at
virtually
every
other
golf
course
in
the
world;
my
recommendation,
if
you
want
to
have
some
fun,
is
play
the
Orange
tees
(about
6200
yards),
it's
still
plenty
of
golf
course
and
gives
you
the
opportunity
to
hit
iron
shots
to
lots
of
greens.
For
the
record,
I
am
75
years
old
with
an
8.0
GHIN
index
and
have
played
many
of
the
world's
great
golf
courses
so
have
a
strong
base
of
experience
to
make
this
recommendation.
