Procel BJJ school is awesome! Professor Brian is a phenomenal instructor, very patient, and always willing to spend extra time with students if there is any need for clarification. The facility is exceptionally clean, and there is a huge training area for classes. Classes are a lot of fun, you get a great workout, and really get a good understanding of various aspects of grappling from Jiu Jitsu to takedowns, and on top of that, you get to train with an amazing, supportive team. I am so glad I joined this academy. I highly recommend training here at Procel BJJ!

I have had an amazing experience training at Procel BJJ. Professor Brian and Coach Caitlin have done a great job of making me feel welcomed, confident, and comfortable. Another great thing to highlight is the people in this school everyone challenges and supports one another! I have been coming here for around 5 months and can honestly say this is the best workout I have ever tried not only do you physically workout you also workout your mind. If you are a female reading this review, I highly recommend you give this school a try not only to keep you in shape but to provide you with some great self-defense techniques.

Procel BJJ is an amazing place to learn Brazilian jiu jitsu! I initially joined because I was curious about the martial art and I wanted to work on my fitness. Professor Brian is a great instructor and provides a fun and friendly environment to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The students in Procel BJJ are also very welcoming. It’s easily the most committed I’ve been to any workout schedule because the classes are so fun. The more you roll, the more you learn!

I joined the Procel Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy more than a year ago and have been extremely impressed with the level of instruction and the welcoming atmosphere. Professor Brian and Coach Caitlin are incredibly knowledgeable and patient, and they have helped me improve my techniques and build my confidence on the mat. The academy offers a wide range of classes for people of all skill levels, and the schedule is very flexible, which makes it easy to find a class that fits my schedule. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the gym has a great community of students who are always willing to help each other out. Overall, I am very happy with my decision to join the academy, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn this amazing martial art. The instructors are top-notch, the facilities are great, and the community is very supportive.

My boys joined the Procel Academy when they were 6&8 years old. They attended the school for a year till we moved to a different city. Within the first few months I saw a huge increase in their confidence. This was the only class they really looked forward to attending! Prof. Brian maintains a great balance of fun and discipline in his classes. Not only have my boys gained self confidence and the technique of self defense, they have also made good friends in the class. We will really miss the Procel Academy!

We are having a lovely experience at Procel BJJ for our kindergarten age son. Professor Brian and Coach Caitlin are very energetic and gentle while teaching children. My son is learning practical self defense skills, building his physical strength, and also discovering more self confidence. The facility is also bright and clean!

Brian is doing an outstanding job as an instructor. My 5 years old daughter has attended his classes for approx. half year now and despite training mainly with boys, she enjoys the class and is happy to go each time. That is mainly thanks to Brian’s patient and empathetic way of teaching. I also had a chance to attend a few adult classes myself and enjoyed them a lot. In my experience, students will never be put in a situation that would make them feel uncomfortable, not safe or stretched too far beyond their abilities. Last but not least: the gym is always clean, smells great (whatever that is) and is very conveniently located as part of the Brunswick community center.

Starting jiu-jitsu, some say that the hardest thing is to walk through the door. At Procel, Brian and the team made me feel welcome from day one and that first step of stepping through the door and onto the mats could not have been made easier - and I haven't looked back since. Procel BJJ is a place where, I believe, both beginners and more seasoned practitioners will find something to their liking. For me, it was not only Brian's vast knowledge and pedagogic approach that kept me coming back, but also the awesome group of people who also have chosen to train at Procel BJJ. Huge fan!

Our kids look forward to going to Jiu-Jitsu every week. Professor Brian and Coach Cait are top notch and work so well with each one of the kids. We love having our kids at an academy that is so welcoming and warm. Both of our kids have shown tremendous growth since starting at Procel. We have seen both of our children become more confident within themselves. We are so happy that we found Procel Jiu-Jitsu and would highly recommend the academy to everyone!

Professor Brian is amazing and my 5 year old gained so much confidence ever since he started the journey in January of 2023. The promotion system is great to motivate the kids and I can’t wait until my younger one turns 5 to join his brother!

This is a awesome place for kids to build confidence , self defense, respect, follow directions and also have fun. It is also a great way to have friends outside of school. My son was shy prior to attending jiu jitsu. Now, he feels comfortable and enjoys going to class 3x week. i definitely recommend it!

My son has been taking classes at Procel for almost a year now. Procel jiu jitsu is a family run business, where students are treated like family. Professor Brian has the uncanny ability to remember each and every student's name. When my son started classes there on summer, were only 2 students in class including my son. The class has now mushroomed into 12-15 students, and Brian and his wife coach Caitlin pay strict attention to their student's development. I can definitely see the boost in my son's confidence and self-esteem, focusing and control his body movment since joining Procel. All students are treated fairly in terms of performance and being motivated by stripe/belt promotions. Class is conducted so that learning and discipline are important but the kids are having real fun, and that's crucial in this age group (5-7year old). The studio is immaculate and my son said, "Dad my class smells yummy". He honestly loves being there.

Excellent gym and excellent experience. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I’ve been attending ever since Professor Brian was teaching out of the grass roots center in Jc and the experience he offers to his students only got better from there. First off the space is well lit and always clean. Secondly Professor Brian is always very observant with his students and caters to their needs. Examples of this understanding how to properly pair people for drills based on size and skill as well as addressing any improvements each student can make while training. Lastly, the class schedule offers an extensive curriculum such as fundamentals, advanced, no gi, and children’s classes throughout the afternoon and evenings. Outside of what is offered as a service, the community you will find outside of this gym is second to none. The people are super cool and down to earth as everyone is trying to learn just like you! I will deeply miss this gym as I had to move, but would highly recommend to anyone who has ever given Jiu Jitsu a thought. You will not be disappointed!

Brian is a wonderful teacher who encourages his students to do their best with kindness and grace. The mixed age and mixed gender students all seem to enjoy being there and get along well. They are always learning new skills and practicing their prior skills. My 13 year old has definitely gotten stronger and more self-assured through this class. He is very motivated to attend and happy when he returns from it.

Procel BJJ is run by a lovely couple, Professor Bryan and Coach Caitlin. Both are great instructors and kind people. The academy projects very positive and warm atmosphere. The students that train here are friendly people, you can easily make new friends here. This academy has different ranges of classes for kids and adults. I have to say during take downs, these mats are very forgiving due to how the flooring was constructed. Coach Caitlin helped me and boyfriend by creating a fitness plan for our weight training and continues to assist us through our weight training and jitz. Professor Bryan and Coach Caitlin both are fully invest for their students and their academy. I enjoy learning from them, I would highly recommend for anyone. The academy is located in a nice safe neighborhood in the Brunswick Center Community, close by Journal Square. There are street parking, parking lots, citi bike accessible, and locker/shower accessible.
