5/5 Frugal C. 7 months ago on Google
Most
days
I
feel
frugal
but
today
was
bourgeois.
Father
&
son
dinner
requires
a
bit
of
pizazz.
The
Bowery
has
been
changing
for
the
better
in
recent
years.
A
friend
recommended
we
try
JIANG
NAN.
Walking
in
the
door,
I
liked
the
décor
&
ambiance
with
a
low
key
romantic
feel.
Thursday
evening
was
not
too
crowded.
Menu
had
extensive
offerings.
We
settled
on
the
Peking
Duck
with
a
soup
add
on
for
extra
$15
(worth
it).
The
grilled
sea
bass
was
also
good
and
we
chose
a
standard
add
on
for
additional
$10.99.
A
bowl
of
good
quality
rice
will
cost
$1.50.
Our
party
of
3
ordered
2
entrees
with
2
add
ons.
This
was
sufficient
for
4-5
people.
Portions
are
generous
here
including
the
bowl
of
rice.
My
dad
is
a
retired
chef.
He
enjoyed
the
meal
but
ate
3
bowls
of
the
duck
soup.
I
found
the
duck
soup
to
be
milky
and
swirling
with
flavor.
Loved
it
🥇🥇
A
minor
setback
in
my
opinion
was
the
pineapple
beer.
It
tasted
more
like
a
fruit
punch
rather
than
beer.
If
you’re
looking
for
alcohol,
skip
this.
A
plus
is
a
Tsing
Tao
is
$6.99
while
a
Corona
is
only
$4.99.
I’m
a
fan
of
the
latter.
Advice:
instruct
the
waiter
to
bring
out
1
dish
at
a
time.
This
will
improve
the
dining
experience.
Our
table
was
not
able
to
accommodate
the
2
large
entrees
with
a
large
soup.
Worth
the
trip!
👍👍
Great
spot
for
date
night
or
celebrations.
