The hotel is excellent super clean... The people at the front desk were super nice very accommodating helped us a lot. Will return when we come back to New York this is the second time we've stayed there absolutely the best hotel. Very close to New York City.

The front desk is friendly and considerate, and they offer free parking with breakfast, which is convenient for travelers and visitors. and also the room is very tidy and clean. I love the decoration which is very simple and they keep the refrigerator and microwave, which are very functional. If I come around Manhattan again, I would definitely come to visit here and book their room.

The location was good, quick and safe walk to the subway to NYC but very loud from the street next to the hotel. Construction and traffic was going on all night. Had small breakfast which was great. Loved front desk staff, really nice and helpful. Didn’t like the smell in the hotel, it was outdated but pretty clean. I saw a few ants in the room which I didn’t like. Hotel was kind of loud too, couldn’t really sleep. Some other guests were screaming, someone walking in the hallway constantly. Some weird water dripping noise. They let keep my car parked longer than check in/out time.

It looks like a regular motel next to a major highway but it's a nicely run place with very comfortable beds and very clean rooms. The traffic noise is very well taken care of so the rooms are quiet. I got a really good night's sleep here. Staff are polite and friendly. Recommended.

The Holland Hotel is a Jersey City Gem! We needed a safe place to park & sleep at night for trips into the city. It’s a quick walk to catch the PATH. The rooms are clean & they manage a sweet little continental breakfast in the lobby. The staff are kind & very helpful! We’ve been so grateful for a place to stay without needing to drive into the city. We’ve stayed twice for a sisters trip & will be back again!

This was a lovely place to stay. Rooms were very clean and staff was friendly (shout out to Steven at the front desk!). The location is easy to get in and out of and walking distance from transit stations. It’s very quiet at night too so you can actually get some sleep.

I love this hotel. It’s dated but very clean and the location is really convenient for path train. The price is really good compared to NY prices…customers complain about breakfast, dated furniture etc, really?!? They want luxury hotel for cheap price…come on! This place is a little gem

$205/night for 4 people, but with free parking, free breakfast and a short walk from the PATH station? This is a deal as good as it gets. The only con I’d say is the lack of elevators, so if anyone in your group has reduced mobility, you may need to request a room on the first floor. The stairs are a bit on the narrower side as well. But to me, the pros greatly outweigh the cons. The parking lot is big for the area, and the breakfast here is much better than the ones at some 3-star hotels I’ve been to. Will definitely stay here whenever I visit New York City!

So. From my experience, I will give it 5 stars. And if you look at all my reviews, I rarely give 5 stars. The staff were all very helpful, especially the day manager. He was able to accommodate my reservation so I didn't have to leave my plans and go back to hotel to check in. Parking wasn't an issue for me, I was able to get a spot early. The only issue I had was my mini fridge wasn't working for most part of my 2 days there. Food n drinks got barely chilled. Only the freezer part kind of work. The location was very accessible to get to and from New York. Mall is in walking distance. I recommend to pay extra attention with driving. Can easily get in wrong lane or go wrong direction going in or out of hotel to get anywhere.

The Holland was perfect! The room was beautiful and clean. It's a safe, lighted) walk to the Path station into the city. I was also surprised by the generous breakfast. We'll definitely be staying again!

Great staff! Great location! Delicious breakfast! Free parking and many spots were available. Very close to train. They cleaned our room without any requests and the hotel is pretty clean in general. I’ll stay here again for sure.

Great location. 12 min walk to the PATH station to NYC. Burger King next door. Holland Tunnel to NYC is across from it so it gets pretty traffic there. The rooms are clean with white sheets. Breakfast in the lobby and its already a small area. Only 2 people can get stuff at once and tables are outside. There’s a ramp to the lobby from parking lot and that level is the 2nd floor. No elevator so 1st floor and 3rd floor needs to use steps. No pool but all in all great location and NYC is easily accessible. Price is affordable much better than paying double-triple in NYC.

I really like that it has free parking at the hotel. That is very good! the room is very nice and clean. The bed is incredibly large and comfortable. They are very quiet at night. This is very good for the price I pay. Dis not like that in our 3 day stay the room was never cleaned, nor were the towels changed. I had to ask reception for another toilet paper. In the description it says breakfast, and it doesn't. There is only coffee. I recommend this hotel.

I wouldn't stay here again. I booked a room with 2 full beds for my friend, my boyfriend, and I. When I checked in they asked if I wanted a rolling bed or if we all would be sharing "the bed." I said the listing would have a second bed and the receptionist disagreed. There were a lot of people behind me and we just needed a place to lay our head so went with the rolling bed. My room was non-smoking but REEKED of cigarettes. When we put down the rolling bed, there was barely any room to actually move around (couldn't even open minifridge). My friend who slept on the rolling mattress is sore because the bed was slouching and uneven. We could also hear what the people in the room next to us were doing in the bathroom... I'm not very fussy when it comes to accomodations but after spending $166 for this, I can only recommend spending a few extra bucks for a Holiday Inn.

We were welcomed by 2 super friendly members of staff. Our room has both AC and heating. The bathroom is clean, the shower although in a bath is relaxing. The next morning we found that both security and office staff were very helpfull and friendly. Breakfast contains some fruit, yoghurt, juice, coffee, tea, delicious rolls, croissants and pastry. There are 2 tables in the breakfast area but also plenty outside. I had expected noise from the road but we slept very good. Walking distance to Newport from which you have easy access to Manhattan. All in all a great place to stay.

Judit was a gem! She explained how to get from the hotel to the PATH transit so we could visit Times Square. Walking distance BTW. Saved 100’s in NYC parking fees. We were able to leave our car safe and sound in the hotel parking lot. When I called and asked if she happened to have a room available for an early check in as we had been driving for over 12 hours she was able to accommodate us. I tried to give her a modest tip and she said NO this is my job and helping our patrons is what we are supposed to do! Room was very clean.

Standard experience. Decently priced. My aunt and uncle stayed here while visiting me. No kitchen/ food add ons. However, the bed was comfortable to sleep on. Ample parking space. Biggest perk- location! All in all- a decent experience.

More than what I expected. Also had a couple of fast food spots within walking distance. It's very close to the mall

This is a reasonably priced old school hotel that we chose for easy access to Manhattan and parking. And it delivers. A little noisy as one would expect and it’s old school. But it was very reasonable for the rates offered. Breakfast was okay. Beds were fine.

Don't forget to use HoteITully.á´„á´Źm when booking any place. This site will compare hundreds of booking web sites and typically will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of my favorites in the area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you choose this place you for sure won't regret it. Such an amazing place! Every single staff person has gone out of their way to make sure our stay was great. Quentin, Joe and Steven are the best!! Assorted fresh bakery items for breakfast made starting the day even better. Entire hotel very clean. Thank you all for the great accommodations and hospitality!

The Holland was an amazing find. Like many people, I neither want to drive into NYC to visit, nor do I want to pay NYC hotel prices. This hotel may be the best solution to both. Great location--Right at the entrance to the Holland Tunnel. Ten-minute walk to PATH into Manhattan. There's a mall almost next door if you're into shopping. Great place--Free parking (!), friendly staff. Rooms are pretty modern and very clean. Affordable, especially compared to Manhattan. Surprisingly quiet inside. Pretty basic free breakfast, which helps. This was a great place, and I hope to stay here again next time I'm in New York.

Currently staying here on our way to Maine and wanted to stop for a night and enjoy NYC. Here are the good things- it’s very easy to navigate if you want to go into the city, but don’t want to actually drive in there. There is free parking. Despite the proximity to the busy Holland tunnel, we are not experiencing any beeping horns or loud traffic. The front desk clerks are polite. The Path station is only an 11 minute walk. I have not felt unsafe at all. The bed in 125 is super comfy, the AC works and the room is spotless. If you are looking for a comfortable, budget hotel outside of NYC, I highly recommend The Holland.

I will definitely be staying here anytime I want to visit NYC. Plenty of free parking. 10 minute walk to PATH train. General manager checked me in early & was extremely friendly. Room was clean, ac worked great. Overall, great hotel for the price I paid.

Simple, quite and super clean rooms, run efficiently. It included breakfast, which was better then expected. It provides a very good solution to those who can’t afford or don’t want to spend a fortune in hotels while visiting the area, be it New Jersey or NYC. The hotel seats at a walking distance to the Path Train to Manhattan so it’s very easy to access the city from here. It is located in a main road where there’s always some sort of construction going on, but surprisingly the room was very quite, at least at night. People with physical disabilities should try booking a room on the ground level because there is no elevator.

Fantastic. Clean room. Great breakfast.( Donuts, croissants, cinnamon rolls,.dinner rolls, jam, butter, bananas, apples, yogurt, cereal and milk....and good coffee...5-8 min from the path. One way 2.75$ to manhattan.we loved it. Nextdoor is burger king Dunkin donuts and mc Donald's....

Stayed here for 15 days because I haven't rent the house yet. Overall, everything is very good, especially the free parking lot. You can also search on Google to find the cheapest ticket booking channel. The nearby Holland Tunnel is relatively convenient for travel. It provides free breakfast. Although it only has bread donuts, milk, orange juice and apples, it is also very good.

This place was perfect. Affordable, quiet, and relaxing. It was close to the mall, and the train station so you can get to New York and visit all there is to see in New York without the prices of time square nor the traffic. Staff were very friendly and respectful. Would definitely stay here again.

This is listed as a 2-Star but it is EVER BIT 5-Star. The service was amazing and the owners own a pastry store so the breakfast was so delicious. The rooms are super cute and it is just a wonderful family place to stay.

I already reviewed Holland hotel over other social platforms and as google picked up to review, here it is. Holland Hotel was the 1st hotel while I visited states, driving from NS, Canada to NJ, US. I opted this property based on various TripAdvisor positive reviews and lowest low ranking reviews. Well, yes this property stood well on our expectations based on few factors. 1. Free parking (which is near to impossible). 2. Location is just apt, by the Holland Tunnel toll gate which connect to NYC. 3. Path station is in walkable distance which connect NJ to NYC in just 15 to 25 mins. 4. Kids friendly environment. 5. Friendly staff. 6. Fresh breakfast (complimentary), outdoor seating arrangement and fresh coffee available all the time, until supply lasts, I guess. 7. Macdonalds and Subway are bang adjacent to it along with gas station and convenience store. 8.. Rooms are cozy. Whatelse do we need. Although I have stayed mostly in Marriott properties however this property was liked by me and my family equally.

Good value for your money. Easy access to Manhattan via Public transportation or car.

  • 4/5 Lyndsey M. 1 year ago on Google
The location is great (close to NYC public transit and never more than 1 min wait for a ride share when needed). The free parking is clutch! The free breakfast was better than expected (delicious pastries, bananas, yogurt, juice, coffee). The front desk was friendly and helpful. The only downside was the smell of the room, which otherwise was perfectly fine and comfortable. If the room smelled better it would be a 5 star little gem of a place in Jersey CIty!

This is a great Hotel for the price, comfort, location, and friendliness of the staff. Within walking distance of the mall and the Metro into NYC. Awesome staff! Joe was very friendly and helpful - was pleasantly surprised by the service already just to walk into the room and be just as happy with the room! Location is top knotch, easily commutable to NYC while having a solid parking spot for our car the whole trip. 10/10 recommend!

Initially I wanted to give just one star but then I realised that I was comparing a bed and breakfast unit with a luxury hotel. It was my expectations versus realisation. Holland Hotel is not a typical hotel. They serve you nothing but breakfast. They don't even have a phone in the room to call the front desk. They have no one to assist you with your luggage. So tugging it up or down is your problem. Oh they don't have a lift either. So if you have physical mobility issues please look elsewhere. Forget a lobby, coffee shop and restaurant within, it's not there. But it's located close - walkable distance of about 1.3 miles - to the Newport PATH station. They are very efficient and respond. They keep the rooms clean. But don't expect courtesy like in luxury hotels. You pay that much only. If you are a tourist and want to save money then this is the place.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. The aesthetic lacking on the outside is made up for on the inside. It’s spotless and well maintained. Great mattress, pillows, towels, sheets. 10 for comfort!

Best hotel I’ve stayed at. Great location, (10 minute easy safe walk to the Newport PATH Station to go to WTC or 33rd Street), FREE parking, FREE breakfast. Very clean. Awesome price for all that’s included.

Great location, free breakfast and parking. Can be noisy unless you turn on the AC all the time. The stuff can be rude sometimes. The front desk shouted "I told you before" when I asked for the wifi password.

  • 3/5 Christina C. 2 years ago on Google
Decent place to stay. Good location. Free on-site parking. Lovely staff

  • 4/5 Louis Z. 2 years ago on Google
For the price and the location, I can’t complain too much. The free parking is a big money saver and access to the trains is easy by foot. Service is nice. Only things bad about this hotel is the smell, in the hallways I can frequently smell a mix of marijuana and cigarette smoke, and the rooms themselves have a very “old room” smell to them, maybe slightly moldy. The rooms themselves were very clean, however, so they are perfectly acceptable.
