This park is truly magical through the seasons and a great place to hang out if you're searching for solitude. It feels safe both day and night as it's well lit. The farmer's market on Saturday morning has become a staple for us. The kids playground is great and the new dog park is a serious improvement over the muddy mess it was before (note: it's almost always packed with dogs). Kudos to the JC community for taking such great care of this beautiful park.

Nice little park with many trees. It has some varieties of blossoms that I hadn't seen before! I wish it was bigger and that JC had more green spaces!

Nice and cozy. Great dog run separated for small and big dogs, (currently being renovated with cooler things). Beautiful gazebo. Cute playground for the kids. Adorable resident made birdhouses. Overall a great park.

I love the weekend market in the park. If you arrive early, you can eat a fresh crispy baguette and drink aromatic coffee in silenceπŸ˜…

Van Vorst Park in Jersey City is one of my favorite parks in the Tri-Cities (NYC, NJ). Despite its small size, it's brimming with historic charm, showcasing some of Jersey City's earlier immigrant establishments in this area.

Brilliant neighborhood park. Great diversity in flora and fauna. Very small farmer market sometimes.

Very cute little park! There are a lot of plants and flowers around in the spring and the summer, which makes it feel more like a garden than a park. There's also a little fountain, which you can often see birds using in the summer. The only downside would be the traffic noises. Montgomery St and Jersey Ave are both busy streets, and the park isn't large enough to really get away from the noise.

A magical place- the trees and shrubs are being left to their own devices, which makes for a magically natural garden of a park. Probably due to the little landscaping taking place here, this park is brimming with birds, squirrels, and probably other wildlife I couldn't spot. I had never been to a small city park where the sound of birds silenced the sounds of the cars passing by. Beautiful, just beautiful.

Van Vorst is a busy little park. It has a swing and beach sand play area with 2 big kid swings and 2 small kid swings. There is a water play area that works during summer, a normal renovated play area for kids aged 3-12. There is a small bookshelf where you can donate and borrow books. It is safe and has kids of all shades playing together. All in all, a great little park.

Quaint little park. Bring along a book or a sketch pad. Not too much foot traffic. Pick a bench, get settled then read your book or start the drawing or sketching. Just take a quick glance of your surroundings and it gets really dark and fast when the nights comes.

Small but well taken care of park. Good place to go with kids especially keeping in mind how few such places are in Jersey City. Of course there are no public restrooms but looks like locals got used to this.

Nestled amidst a lovely little set of old townhomes, this park looks like something straight out of a Hollywood studio backlot. With a playground for the kids, dog runs for your pups (big and small), a central gazebo for events and a farmer’s market, lawns for picnics or sunning, chessboards for, well, playing chess, of course, and a quaint little fountain surrounded by ample park benches to sit, relax, read, or just take in the scene, this all adds up to be a little oasis in the Big City.

This is a beautifully kept Park. It blooms all year round and there's a lot of rare plants to be seen. Now is the time to go because everything starting to bloom, but there are many more blooming plants to come. I look forward to visiting this throughout the year!

Favorite little neighborhood park. It’s the ornate black fountain surrounded by roses and little chirping birds that does it for me. Has something for everyone. Two kids areas, a dog park, space to stretch out and surrounded on all sides by beautiful townhouses and brownstones. Just perfect!

I go there for the dog park, which is covered in astro turf. There is plenty of space for my pup to run with the other dogs, and there are two water fountains for when they get thirsty. Good place to go if you want to socialize your dog.

A great place to be in Jersey City. Very well maintained by local authority and the volunteers. I love the little library that we can exchange books. Great for kids and dog pet lovers. Safe beautiful. Thank god. For this park. Here in between of all the reality around. Like liberty harbor neighborhood Disneyland for me. Recommend to family oriented folks.

Beautiful little park in the Van Vorst part of Jersey City with a recently renovated dog run, kids playground, and a small kids sandbox & swings, and two outdoor tables with benches. The park is particularly beautiful in springtime where you'll see tons of flowers blooming 🌷🌻.

It's a beautiful park in downtown JC and you can't complain about parks in the city! But they have this annoying farmers market every weekend or whatever and they block off half the park - so annoying. Also, so many annoying people have the same idea as you about eating their breakfast sandwiches in the park at 8am on a weekend. Hence, I have mixed feelings about this park.

Very green and quiet. A lot of new parents bring their young kids. And birds bathe in the fountain like a movie scene. Great park

Clean, well kept, peaceful, beautiful greenery and love the farmers market every Saturday! Central valley farm is there and they have the best freshest produce. Always look forward to their tomatoes and corn. Absolutely the best!

Very clean park. The kids have a nice little area to play in with closed gates which gives parents a little peace of mind. I really enjoyed my time with my son there.
