Dames is an amazing coffee spot. Their staff is super nice and their drinks are delicious. It’s located in one of my favorite JC neighborhoods too. Oh, and they also have some pastries!

Very cute little coffee shop that feels somewhat hidden on a quiet part of the street. Small and quaint inside and the latte that I ordered was a little pricey but it was definitely large. I got the iced vanilla latte with almond milk and it was not too sweet with a hint of vanilla but the espresso was delicious and tasty! I ordered the banana bread as well and it was incredible!

My favorite local coffee shop! Really great espresso drinks, they use counter culture beans. They also make really good flavoring! I’ve had their pumpkin and butterscotch lattes and they’re delicious. Their chai latte is also the BEST!!

I got their hot latte and it was good although I find that Counter Culture Coffee beans aren't my favorite when it comes to espresso because it isn't as bold as I would like it to be. However the staff was friendly and location was good.

Very chill lovely shop with great coffee and espresso drinks. Benches out front and garden out back. Great quiet suburban coffee shop vibe in the heart of jersey city, surprisingly hard to find. Beautiful old building. Great banana bread

Cost. Coffee is good, but overpriced. A large late is $6.93 including tax, and over 7 dollars depending on the milk option. A $1 tip in this case (with different milk option) would bring the total to nearly $9. Can't think of a world where this is justifiable. Staff. You'll get a 'what can I get you', and a 'thank you'. I don't go there for chat, so that's fine with me. They don't appear to be interested in building a relationship, or at least, I've been going there for months and not once have I been asked anything other than what would I like to order. Besides that, the staff look cranky most of the time. One of the staff members has a habit of shouting when the order is ready. This would be appropriate when the cafe is busy, or in large and loud cafes like Starbucks. But not when it's quiet, and the place itself is small. I've seen people jump from their seats from this guy's shouting. Atmosphere. Transient. Most people come and go. There is a beautiful little garden out the back. Lovely in the summer time. There isn't a whole of space inside, so 2 or 3 people on a laptop would make it look at least half full. Speed. They do work through the orders quite fast. Always very satisfied in this department. Location. The area around the cafe is lovely, and ripe for a walk. Residential, yet right beside Newark Ave, which for anyone familiar with the area, is a lively street.

They are not taking latte art lightly which is amazing!! I love their backyard space. This is one of my fave jersey coffee 🤎💯 (I had a butterscotch latte, the barista skill is on point. Look at the latte art and top texture still very smooth and clean after sitting few minutes and the taste is superb)

Excellent small, locally owned coffee shop. Had a flat white which was much better than any I’ve had around the area. Milk was properly foamed to sweetness and espresso had a delightful nuttiness to complement. Also had an iced vanilla latte that was creamy and sweet with much less pronounced coffee tastes. Great for those just getting into coffee. Space is cute and cozy with additional seating toward the back.

I ordered flat white (8oz) with regular milk and no add-ons. It tasted very smooth but was slightly lacking the bean flavors. I waited a bit and found it more enjoyable closer to the room temperature. They use Counter Culture beans.

Nice cozy cafe near Grove. It has really good espresso based drinks esp cappucino. Another fave is butterscotch latte and yuzu teas. They also have mini brownies for 1$ which are a hit or a miss depending on the day of visit. Pastry selection is limited. They do have juices but I am yet to try them. Staff is extremely friendly and it makes for a pleasant experience.

Seems like a cute place with personality. I tried an oat milk latte and also got my eye caught by an almond croissant, the both of which cost around $10. This is on me for not checking ahead of time, but I was mainly disappointed their indoor seating was closed off due to COVID safety I think. Their outdoors seating was open but unfortunately I hadn’t dressed quite ready to sit outside in the snow that had come down overnight. In a future visit I’d be curious to try their butterscotch latte.

Such a cozy place with amazing barista. They are not cash only. Idk maybe it's due to pandemic, but they accepting apple pay and credit cards as well. Super cozy interior with the access to the back terrace which is so beautiful makes this coffee shop a very romantic place. They have different pastries such as croissants, brownies, banana bread, Apple pocket, muffins, and delicious coffee and tea. Also add Quiches and spinach omelette. Lovely place. They do serve a BUTTER SCOTCH late and it's so good!! You should try it! And those mini brownies for $1 each!! So good! Will stop by again.

This only a review for coffee and hospitality. I have tried almost all coffee shops in neighborhood, but I come here in every morning to get a good RELAXING coffee . It's the smiles on everyone's face in the shop that lifts me up. The coffee, esp Lattee is really good. It hits the spot for me compared all places around. Also , the smell of fresh banana bread every day lifts you up. Lastly the backyard patio is a must visit, it's a hidden gem when you want some peace of mind.

Ordered the: 1. Cafe Mocha, the perfect mix of coffee and chocolate that my girlfriend wanted! 2. Pumpkin spice latte, a delectable way to welcome fall! 3. Banana bread, to round it off with some soft wholesome goodness :) ….and enjoyed all of them in the quiet garden behind the cafe on this lazy Monday afternoon.

THE BEST coffee in the area, and by quite a bit! Nothing beats a morning cup of a breve cappuccino from dames, or an iced latte in the afternoon. The croissants aren’t anywhere on par with the coffee, but they’re a lot more than edible, and the mini brownies are really addicting as well. All around a 10/10 little cafe.

This might be my favorite coffee shop in downtown JC-- the drinks are great, and I love their staff! They have an adorable garden in the back, too, with lots of flowers and shade. Try the butterscotch latte or the strawberry latte, and their amazing pastries! Such a treasure.

Our go-to coffee place in Jersey City. Friendly staff and good drinks (iced vanilla lattes especially). They are also dog-friendly and have outdoor seating in the back.

Can’t say enough good things about the coffee here. Anytime I’m in JC, this is one of a few places I always make a stop at. Love the quality of their lattes and always have great service.

I really wanted to love it - looked like a cute, small business in the neighborhood. But the main draw of this place is the quiet garden in the back. The coffee is fine (ordered a skim flat white), but the food is pretty meh. We had the ham and cheese croissant (my partner said there was a soapy taste inside) & the broccoli quiche - the dough was thick & the ratio of eggs/cheese/broccoli was off. It seemed homemade though.

My go-to coffee shop. I love the service and my main drink is the butterscotch iced latte with oat milk. It's so great, 😍mmmmm..
