Worst Management In Jersey City! The manager/staff does not have any humbleness to speak. Ordered a take out and the notified to make it Spicy as my usual order. But this time they made it so unbearably spicy that it was more of a chutney than a curry. Thought may be getting on phone would resolve this issue but being stubborn and rude, the manager argued and yelled to us even though we spoke softly. Until this time we did not even requested a refund or replacement but the manager feared and lashed out on us. No respect for customers. Never will recommend this restaurant and the curry deserves to be in trash. Wish I can give it zero stars.

Our friends had highly spoken of this place and now we know why. Great Food, super quick service! For your reference, we ordered: 1. Chilli Paneer - Really good, not the traditional taste, it was a little different but amazing in taste. A few paneer pieces were hard but mostly was good! 2. Hara Kabab - Good. 3. Masala Papad - Good. Chutneys were good. 4. Aloo Tikki chat - Not in pictures, but it was wholesome and delicious. 5. Paneer Tikka Masala - It was really good. 6. Dal Makhani - Not the best I have had. Can be skipped. We had to resend it to get the salt added. 7. Mango Lassi - Okayish. One of the fine dines (not super high end) in the Indian Street(Newark Ave, Jersey City). They also have a bar section. To compare the ambience, I would say this is better than most of the other restaurants in that street.

I like the food and service at Rasoi in Jersey City. The wait staff is polite and helpful, but lacking in numbers. Sometimes the service is lacking when the staff is overwhelmed with the amount of orders. Need to hire and train more staff. (Get more staff properly trained, you will have 5 stars) as a customer I don’t want to be looking or calling out for the wait staff. Food is phenomenal, been coming to Rasoi since it was first opened up. During college time, me and my cousin gave them thousands of $$ business. We enjoyed the food, the drinks, and yes the food. Last time I was there, my mom had special request, and they came thru. They actually made something off menu. We are customers and will be. I live in another state, but when I come to see mom and dad, we come here almost every night. They were working the Covid restriction safely we felt safe.

Nice location on the Street. Courteous staff. The food is delicious(we ordered all medium spicy). I am going to try again if I am nearby. Very reasonably priced. I couldn’t take the pic, but chicken lollypop is a must have. Chicken biryani is ok, but if you’re a Hyderabadi dum biryani lover(like me), you might want to skip that here.

Food was okay, little on the sweeter side, they have a jain menu which is seperate, which is great. Ordered for a paneer makhani, spicy level I mentioned was “hot” but it was on the milder side. Staff is less. I would give it a skip, for sure. Lots of nicer options in the vicinity.

The food was decent. Mutton bhuna was well made. Saag Chana was also tasty and sufficient quantity. Beer was served in a chilled glass, which was a nice touch. A couple of negatives were a bit of an unpleasant smell when we entered the place and the wash room was not clean. It would have been nice to get something to much on like a papad that's served at most places. They served nothing other than the food we ordered. However, the service was good, friendly, and reasonably quick.

I will promise you with some Yummy Curry!! It was my first time in the district, we were looking for Authentic Indian Curry with some meat. Because majority of the restaurant in the block were 100% vegetarian( Which we are not used to at the moment.) The price is higher than a other restaurant but this restaurant will guarantee to serve you some real good Indian food will satisfy you. I will definitely like to come back again.

Food & service is good. Gobi Manchurian tasted great. Fried rice was good too. I tried veg kebabs for the first time it tasted okay not worth $13 but overall I love going here.

Their food is always good - we usually go to the Rasoi in Edison which is also awesome. Love their spicy biryani and chicken makhani, tikka Masala. Rasmalai is too delicious and soft - has to be our fav place to eat Indian food. Edit- I have to take 2 stars down after tasting their weekend buffet. The food was not good at all and didn’t taste like their regular dishes we had tasted on a weekday dine in.

It is the best Indian food in New Jersey I think, I’ve tried so many restaurants where they food was just mediocre. But at Rasoi the food just melts in your mouth, he ingredients are very fresh and tasteful. If you have never had lassi drinks absolutely have one. Highly recommend this place.

Good option if you are looking North Indian Cuisie, especially Appetizers, Curries, and Bread. I didn't like the Biryani that much, and the meat in the Biryani, as well as their Tandoor options tend to be overcooked at time - really depends on the day. I try to order different Curries and in my recent visit, I had ordered Veg Kolhapuri and Khoya Kaju. Both the curries tasted really good, and I am eager to try other curries they have.

Wonderful food and service! We had mango lassi, chicken and chili pakora, chicken balti and chicken tikka masala, naan, keema naan, and rasmalai. We were greeted at the door and seated as we liked. Everything was clean and fresh and it was pleasantly cool and relaxing inside. I enjoyed my dinner!

What a pleasant service. We're from California on the way from NY to Buffalo driving. This place pop up on my Google for indian restaurant... Warm welcome, clean Restaurant, ice cold 🍺, chole bhature on point (only minus point We're stuck in 2 hours of crazy traffic 🤪 for that 15 miles distance)

I don't usually rate places on the first visit unless exceptional or terrible. The first time I came here, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavorful food and warm accommodating staff but decided to leave review for another day. Fast forward 2 months >> went here again yesterday and had a great experience. Everything was delicious. The choley tasted very authentic and Masala Papad too. It's such a simple and quick starting snack like we have bread with olive oil in Italian restaurant and chips in Mexican restaurants. Idk why most indian restaurants do the same. Could Improve on the following: The Aloo Papdi chaat was a little bit more sweet than it's ideally supposed to be. The yogurt and green chutey were missing from the Chaat so had to ask them to add some and bring it back. Also didn't taste much Chaat masala. Chaat for me and in my understanding is supposed to be "Khatta-Meetha" and not just sweet. Paneer Pakoda can also be more flavourful. The outside layer is quite plain. Would definitely come here again!

I recently ordered the Tandoori Khazana from Rasoi, filled with expectations of a great tandoori dish. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment when I discovered that the dish contained soggy vegetables. Upon receiving the Tandoori Khazana, I expected vibrant colors, perfectly charred pieces of paneer, and succulent vegetables. Instead, the vegetables appeared limp, lacking the desired texture and flavor. It was evident that they had not been in tandoor or improperly prepared, resulting in a rather unappetizing sight

Food is good, Manchuria and noodles are bit salty.. Manchuria wet - did not cook/fried well enough.. when I eat I see it is still RAW, kachhaa.. Panner butter masala is little sour.. Other items are good. Panipoori is +ve add on to their buffet.. I dine in for lunch buffet today i.e on Sunday, We took the seat inside the restaurant to all the way back.. It's little hot and humid to the back of the restaurant, when we enter, front seating side is good air conditioned, nice and cool. But not at the back. Floor is black marbled, it's slippery, Under my table my foot just slipping because of oil or what ever. It's not that good feeling when you dine in. Over all, food is good, not to complain but a simple suggestions. Price wise decent - $20 for each buffet... worth the price and satisfactory. Please keep the floor more clean and dry.. and also bit more of Air-condition on the back, may reduce salt in appetizer, and please well fry/cook manchuria. Thank you.

I was regular customer of this restaurant because I liked the food taste but from last 2 times I got severly sick eating their curries. It was food poisioning. First time I wasn't sure if it is because of this restaurant food because it is so highly rated but second time it was pretty evident as I just got sick after eating their meal. I'm never going to order from here, don't know what quality of ingredients they use, how much cleanliness they adhere in preparation process and even more so I doubt they reheat stale food. PLEASE BEWARE AND DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

The weekend lunch buffet is awesome. The choices are good. The service is really good. Sometimes during the weekend, the crowds are a lot so just in case call ahead and have a reservation. The food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Awesome restaurant on Newark Avenue with amazing and Authentic Indian dishes. Their buffet on the weekends is the best! Great service, easy to call in for pick up or delivery, and always a good meal!

I had ordered my food to be spicy, very spicy. They brought me very mild dish. I told the waiter about it and he took it back to the kitchen. When he brought the food back it was like they hadn't done anything to it. The chicken was very tough and dry. Won't be going there again.

Food is fine but customer service is non-existent on calls and pick up! I have picked up several times but lately, when I call, the conversation is so off putting that I just cancel my order. It's as if they are doing their customers a favour by taking the order - in case they haven't noticed, there are a lot of other Indian restaurants we can happily take our business to 👋

Its definitely good food and good service. Reason I gave 3 is this restaurant doesn’t follow or educate waiters/chefs on kids allergies. My son is nuts allergic so we told our waiter to be careful and he gets appetizers with sesame seeds. He also says “no nuts in anything for sure” and then recommends paneer dish with cashew paste. He doesn’t know the seriousness and legal issues related to allergies and kids health.

Pathetic customer service! Arrogant waiters and bad food. When enquired about why the appetisers and main course were bought before soup, the waiter shouted at us that it is closing time of the restaurant, although we ordered the food at 9:45 pm when the closing time is 10:15 pm. There is a good way to earn customer satisfaction and trust. I hope you would learn that!

I really like this place, they make amazing food and the staff is helpful and friendly. But I can't order here often because they always put styrofoam plates, single use utensil kits and plastic straws, no matter how many times I ask the not to. Parking is hard to find on that street so sometimes you have just enough time to run out of the car, grab your take out bag and run back, but I suggest to check the order before leaving the store. This is the second time in the row I'm missing an item I ordered. I did get unrecyclable utensils instead, so there's that, I guess. Having said all above, this is the best Indian food place that I know. So if you order out check your order for missing items, return ¥×|°€°¥π=| plastic trash and enjoy your meal ;)
