This is the first time I tried this place which did not end well with the food. First, the food i ordered was a chicken tikka, and it was so much salted that I couldn’t finish eating. Also, my friend’s chicken fried rice tasted like a salt dish as well. The server who took the order was mean so that he got easily ticked off when I asked him a few options that I was questioning about their other food items. Personally, I wouldn’t go to this place again.

Ordered takeout from Amiya and the food was great! The Coriander Shorba with Chicken and the Black Pepper Chili Chicken were our favorites. Shaam Savera felt like a novel take on the Malai Kofta and the Desi Chicken Curry was decent, but not the best we have had in NY/NJ. Overall, the food was great and we enjoyed it a lot.

If I could this place a 0 star rating I would. As you can see from our food, we barely ate it as it was so disgusting. Let’s start from the beginning. We were seated and ordered appetizers. The appetizers came first and then we had to request the server to give us plates to eat our food in. We ordered diet cokes and they were literally run down in water. It was disgusting. The main entrees came and again we had the same problem. Had to wait 5 mins for the server to get the plates for us (and mind you it wasn’t busy, if it was I would have understood). The food was downright uncooked, tasteless, and pure disgust. Went to pay our bill and the lady was like the internet is down I can’t take card payments. We didn’t have cash but we waited for 35 MINS TO PAY OUR BILL. At this point I should have walked out but didn’t. The lady asked me to leave my card details on a paper and she would charge me tomorrow. I said I am not leaving my card details for anyone. Finally I made the payment to the lady’s personal Zelle just so I could leave the place. Walked out with my friend and swore never to return. This place used to be good now it’s just a sad excuse for food.

This is probably the best Indian food I have had in Jersey City. The ambience of the restaurant is really nice and they have a small bar as well. The music playing literally made me feel I am back home. The spread is limited but the food is absolutely delicious. The service was nice and prompt. We decided to have all veg and started with Samosa chat for the appetizers and baingan (eggplant) bharta with breads for the entrees and Rasmalai for the desert. Prepandemic they used to have a lunch buffet but that has not started as yet. Loved it!

I don't understand the bad reviews this place is good I am Indian and I think the best Indian food is what I make. if you enjoy meat you have to try the Hyderabadi goat. everything is good from the amritsari fish to the tandoori platter. try the goan shrimp curry and the Shaam savera.. very original.

Seriously can't understand the 4 & 5 Star ratings..! Maybe we went in on an off day but the food was just average. They literally had the same sauce base for their curries, couldn't really find much of a difference between Murgh Chettinad and Achari Aloo. This part of Jersey City doesn't really have many Indian options to choose from I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

Amazing restaurant with Authentic Indian taste, I tried malai kofta, bread basket and Fried rice with Manchurian. Fried rice was okay but rest of the items were awesome. Staff was very friendly, and the manager even offered us dessert. Highly recommend this place in Jersey city

Appetizers were not cooked well ( Half cooked). I could feel the batter from Gobi Manchuri that we ordered. I really liked the masala pappad , Malai Kofta and the Kulfi. I am giving a 3 star because the food was undercooked. The ambience is pretty good.

5 star all rounder. This is one of the few restaurants that I have been to who accommodated the guests at business closing time. We went almost at 11pm, they warmly greeted and assigned us the table. We ordered the food at lightening speed and hats off to them it came in flat 15mins. The taste was out of this world. Speedy, friendly and professional service was the crowning jewel for this restaurant during our visit. Shannon 3 cheers to your professionalism. Keep up the great job guys.

Great experience!! I’m giving it 4 rather than a 5 just because when I went in the winter time it was extremely cold in here & it felt like no heater was on! We did smell the food from outside & we were like WE HAVE TO GO! As we did the food did not disappoint at all!! The drinks were fantastic as well! But I was trying rush because it was just that cold in there! I’m excited to go back during the summer time! Great date night spot! Just near the water too! Perfect location the staff was really nice too! & we had the fried rice to go! Which was really good

Good place for indian food. We ordered from UberEat as they had some promotions for this place. We ordered 2 veggie sham savera and naan. One curry was spicy and other was mild. I liked the mild one as it was flavour full dish, same item with spicy, i felt they just added red chilli powder to make it spicy. Advice, when you want spicy here, don’t ask for spicy else you might not like it. Apart from it, don’t know much about service but place looks betters and ambience was good too.

We had a great dine in experience at this place yesterday. Food was great along with the vip treatment we had received from the staff. The inside of the restaurant looks very nice and cozy. We dined outside but the atmosphere was comfortable. The light breeze in the evening definitely made out experience pleasurable. I will give 5 Star to food, cleanliness, service and ambiance.

A Jersey City mainstay. Food has always been superb and authentic - as good as you can get in India. New location still same great food and service. Will recommend Goat and Chicken Apps

Good food average service, not value for money The location of this restaurant is quite good just near the Hudson river with view of New York skyline. The food taste is good though not value for money to be paid. The service is like they're paying for you to eat there.

I’ve been to this place multiple times for their lunch buffet but this was my first time for dinner. Their vegetarian main courses are on point but the veg appetizers aren’t plenty to choose from. We tried the veg sampler platter and found it quite dry and unflavored. Their service is basically non-existent because our server hardly checked in to ask about the food and he charged us 18% gratuity on the check beforehand (strange!). We were a group of 3 and it wasn’t rush hour either so he shouldn’t have charged it upfront. Either way, I’d prefer their lunch spread better.

This restaurant literally has THE best Indian food I’ve ever had. Everything was so good and since I love spicy food they gave me more spicy stuff to add on it. Our server Joel and the Manager Tushar were so nice and helpful with the menu. I’d definitely come back here for sure.

Food is pricey.Per plate curry is not sufficient. we had ordered Amiya special Pinacolada. Entire glass was filled up with ice with very little juice. In the ingredients, it was mentioned Mango pineapple, rose syrup, coconut milk. But it never said ICE. Initially when we informed our assigned waiter he completely ignored us. Then we callled the manager and informed him. He changed the same and got us another one without ice in small glasses. This time the taste was perfect.

Flavorful lunch specials with solid options and reasonable portions. It's also nice that naan is included in the order. Fast service!

We recently celebrated my husband's 40th birthday at Amiya and we had the best time. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our event was special. Our group was about 20 people and everyone appreciated the food. We ordered many items and everything was so tasty. Special shout-out to the manager Tushar, who was kind to accommodate my requests to make it special for my husband. I highly recommend Amiya!

I had their paneer shashlik and paneer biryani. Both tasted great and worth the price. The food is not overly spicy or oily. The service is good. They automatically add 18% gratuity even for 2 folks. We were almost about to tip them twice had we not noticed. Otherwise a decent place to have dinner

We had a wonderful time here. Please do try Paneer methi tikki Malai chicken for kids Chicken fried rice Punjabi kadhi Chilli chicken that we ordered was a bit cold Ordered few cocktails. In couple of them alcohol content was not upto the mark. 😀 We were not told that parking ticket gets validated. I just checked one of the questions on google and owner mentioned they do validate. So please ask for it when you are there. Our server James was fantastic… he can suggest the dishes as per your need.

Great portions and delicious dishes. The kitchen will take its time, but I assume its cause the food is fresh and complex. Long list of mocktails and extensive drink menu overall. Slightly slow service.

Nice ambience. We ordered aloo parantha, butter naan, dahi bhindi and kadhai paneer. Aloo parantha and paneer were excellent, bhindi was overripe but curry was cooked brilliantly, amazing spices. Overall clean and cozy place with light music. In veg sampler plate- samosa was the best item, rest not that awesome.

This pic tells you how the food was. We left almost everything in the container food came in. Food had no salt, no taste. Staff was rude. Breads were cold and appetizers were pathetic. Not anything close we have in India. And they have Indian chefs😂😂. Don't they taste their own food. Please if you want to have good Indian food go somewhere else.

A delightful surprise in Jersey City! Tasty food, perfect portions, EXCELLENT service (thanks Shankar) and quite reasonably priced. Especially good were the Lasuni Gobi Manchurian and Paneer Shaslik apps and the Egg Curry entree. Order a bread basket for the table (we had chili garlic naan). Finish off with a little masala tea and pistachio kulfi. Yummy! Then stroll a block to the river and take some pics of the NYC skyline!.

Quality restaurant, clean and fine dining in the city. The food is top class, tastes amazing, just tue way Indian Cuisine should taste. Great, friendly service and I personally liked the generous food they gave us. Highly recommend

Excellent food and great service!! Naans are so huge! Egg biriyani was spectacular! Gobi Manchurian was in classic oriental style. We really loved being there.

Delicious and authentic food, elegant setting, prime location, but… Amiya exceeded my expectations. The food is authentic, pleasantly spicy, high-quality and served in generous amounts. I had the samosa, paneer shilksa and tandoori appetizers. The Hyderabad goat curry, naan basket, and basmati rice for dinner. All were exceptionally good- we couldn’t stop eating even when we were stuffed. Best of all, the bill was much lower than I expected! The restaurant itself is very elegant. The Exchange Place location is right by the water and the views of the Manhattan skyline are the best in NJ. After dinner you will want to grab and ice cream and take a stroll. All-in-all, one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. However, the service is very…slow! And communication from the servers isn’t that great.
