I was on a business trip to Jersey City and decided to eat something different. I found Green Pear Heights in Google and decided to give it a try after seeing a perfect 5 score. I was kind of late but the owners, Isabella and Alfredo, still prepared the meal for me. This was hands down the best meal I had in a restaurant in a long time. I had beef goulash and it was amazing. But since I went there specifically for trout or branzini, I had to get them too. So they doggy-bagged half of the goulash. Branzini and veggies were winners, too. Normally I don't eat zucchini much, but they were so good, I finished everything. For dessert, I had palachinke. It was the first time I had it and really enjoyed it. It was delicious. Also, Rose Seltzer was very good. So, whenever I go to Jersey City, this restaurant is going to be at the top of my list. Highly recommended. By the way, owners Isabella and Alfredo are extremely nice. The hospitality was top notch. I was lucky to get there too late, since there were no other customers and we had time to chat. This was the most fun night I had in Jersey City during my visit. Thank you guys very much!

11 Stars! 🌠One of the most magical places I’ve been blessed to transport and experience within Jersey City! Moment you see the restaurant down the corner, to precious corner stage upon entering and its aroma of candle, delicious-food and like great hookah without the smoke. Next greeted by the beyond beautiful owner/chef Isabella to the lovely; articulate waitstaff Claudia to their scrumptious Hungarian inspired menu that fills and taste like home yet within a gorgeous exotic venue. Romantically dim lit whilst seated upon real wooden church pews among pillows and artwork of butterflies, opera feathers, gorgeous porcelain dolls and more beauty as you look down their hall spaced restaurant of SCRUMPTIOUS! Neighbors enjoying their dinner next to me exclaimed “Soooo good! Wow!” And I agree! So beside myself excited a place like this exist! MAGIC! 😋💚♾

Absolute neighborhood gem. One of those places that you really do need to go and experience (and likely push yourself out of your comfort zone). Service was great, food is simple, executed well and feel good. Recommend the goulash, perogie and kebab

At the best new restaurant in the heights! This place is a very warm and cozy with European feel with a diverse menu for all (meat eaters to vegetarian). The owners are just amazing, warm and welcoming and really make you feel comfortable and welcoming here. So excited to have GPH in the neighborhood - you MUST try this place as you will love it!

Real gem. Everything was great. Perogies were tender, Bosnian kababs were tasty, spinach and ricotta ravioli were great. Goulash had excellent gnocchi. Chicken paprikash needed some seasoning - was a bit bland. Service was excellent and has a great vibe.

Great service and great food! Beautiful atmosphere on the inside, lots of beautiful and interesting art. The tiramisu was excellent. Also had the perigees and beef goulash which was so tender! It seems like they’re doing a lot to support local musicians too, hosting various musical groups over the last year. Alfredo was really nice, I’ll definitely be coming back. Thank you!

I’m mostly vegetarian but made an exception for this palace of deliciousness. We enjoyed the beef ghoulash with gnocchi, chicken paprikash with gnocchi, cevapi with salad, potato and cheese pirogi, poppy seed cake, and crepes with apple, apricot, and Nutella. All excellent. Yum. What a treat.

A hidden gem in Jersey City Heights—a cozy restaurant that flawlessly combines Hungarian and Italian flavors. The menu offered a delightful alot of dishes, showcasing the best of both cuisines. The staff was super and provided great recommendations. We had the cod (wow!) and the beef goulash with gnocchi was amazing—a comforting and flavorful dish that left us craving more. Its rich flavors and tender meat were truly impressive. Reminded me of my great grandmothers cooking!

Wow! The mushroom stew really hit the spot. The perogies were insanely delicious. The Hungarian Sausage was so yummy, just melted in my mouth. And the Hungarian Charcuterie was an awesome compliment to a nice wine. If you are looking for something to warm your soul, then order from or dine at Green Pear Heights!

Awesome hotel, nice casino. I think they need to refresh their restaurant selection. I don't think they changed in the past 10 years. Don't get me wrong, there are some new places and good old ones. Nice bar/launch right behind the registration desk with good drinks and sugar menu.
