Highly recommend! It was a fantastic tour with fantastic restaurants and of course just as importantly delicious food and drinks! Couldn't go wrong for a father's day and a mother's day gift. The host Alessia gave some great historical knowledge of Jersey City, great recommendations on other places to see and was even able to accomodate me as a vegetarian throughout the whole tour.

Alessia, It was such a pleasure meeting you. You did a fantastic job showcasing the eats Jersey City has to offer...had no idea. My "view" of Jersey city is the Holland Tunnel Exit coming from Manhattan, I was very pleasantly surprised to discover the real JC, expertly guided. We had an AMAZING time during our Jersey City Downtown food tour! We celebrated my husband’s birthday with the family - he was really blown away by the whole experience! Everyone in the family, including all three kids ate a TON! The food was delicious, and I especially loved all the paired drinks! And we all fell in love with Jersey City! We are actually Manhattan foodie people but the tour turned us into Jersey City food people!! We really loved meeting Michael at Tamborim and trying so many things on his menu, became obsessed with Razza pizza (I mean seriously!), loved the Ghost Truck Kitchen concept (& wow that local doughnut beer!), and our minds were blown with the chicken & waffle tacos at Gringo’s! And even after all that, my 9 year old came home & devoured a Bang cookie! Total success! And our tour guide Hindi was so sweet! We loved how much she loves the history of Jersey City & the community there! Alessia was incredible to work with – very accommodating and ensured that our tour was exactly what we were looking for! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone!

Recently did the food tour in the heights, it was a great experience. I went with a group of friends and it was fun and relaxing afternoon. I didn't feel like a tourist, but part of the community. The flavors were delicious and varied. All the of the restaurants were generous in their portions, you definitely get your money's worth. Lily our guide was passionate about the food and the small business owner, and a great photographer documenting our adventure. I definitely recommend taking a tour! Make sure you bring your appetite, and a bag for the leftovers.

We did a Jersey City Heights tour for my friends birthday and it was incredible. SO MUCH great food. You can tell this company really invests in small local businesses and personally gets to know each restaurant’s unique story. We felt like we were part of the community everywhere we went. Our tour guide, Lilly was incredible. It felt like she was one of “the girls” and made everything so fun and comfortable. I highly recommend this tour. We loved it so much, we are doing the Red Bank one next!

We did the Beyond the Plate Food Tour - Jersey City Food Tour Taste of the Heights and it was a great experience! We were able to visit five small businesses that each had their own unique and high quality food. Aside from the food being amazing, it was great to spend time with the business owners and learn more about their businesses. Alessia was a great tour guide and even gave recommendations for eateries that were not on the tour. We were definitely full by the end of the tour! Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area or even a local to JC!

We had so much fun on this tour. The weather was perfect, and the food was so good. Heather was a great tour guide who gave us some information about the history of jersey city. We really enjoyed being able to sample food and drinks from different restaurant. We also got background information on the restaurants, owners and food. If you are looking to do something different this tour is a MUST DO!!!!

We did food tour with Beyond Plates as part of a Bachelorette outing. Our group enjoyed it so much. We ate so much delicious food! By the time we made it to gringos tacos we could barely eat anything else and wanted to go into a food coma. I'm a local to the area but a lot of the girls in the group it was their first time exploring JC. It was nice to get some of the historical facts and to just explore the area in a different way. If you are looking for something different and to get a flavor of the area this is IT!. Even if you are a local. Our tour guide, Kyle was amazing and very knowledgeable of the area. The food was also amazing, portions were more than generous and paired with equally delicious drinks

My work team did a food tour with Alessia at Beyond the Plate in Red Bank, and it was so much fun. She was so informative and was so passionate about making this a great experience for us. She took us to some amazing spots with great food. We all had a wonderful time. Highly recommend!!

I used Beyond The Plate Food Tour for a surprise 30th birthday for my fiancé and had the absolute best experience. Our tour guide, Kyle, was extremely knowledgeable on everything Jersey City, and went out of his way to ensure all 20 of us had the best time (and ate extremely well). We had a great variety of food and drinks and really enjoyed getting to meet and hear from the restaurant owners. I absolutely recommend them and am already looking forward to booking another food tour soon!

Our group of eight thoroughly enjoyed our Red Bank food tour with Alessia. It's obvious that she loves what she does and sharing her experiences with food with others. We started strong with a NJ classic breakfast sandwich, and then had Indian, American/Mediterranean, and an incredible custom cupcake desert. Alessia even added a new place on fly when the owner offered to accommodate us (Please note that Alessia asked if we were up for it. It was great!) We also had craft beer and some nicely paired cocktails. We really enjoyed hearing from some of the chefs along the way. You will definitely get enough to eat so don't worry about dinner that night. We love food tours to learn about a place, get the inside scoop on where we might want to eat later, eat great food that day, and have a great time doing it. Beyond The Plate checked all of the boxes for us.

We had an amazing time at our friends 30th birthday celebration! This was such a unique experience and we would definitely do it again. My family and I booked the Jersey City tour and had a wonderful time. Allessia was our host and her passion for Jersey City and its food was contagious! This was such an amazing experience! My boyfriend and I did this tour to celebrate Valentines Day & it went perfectly. The tour guide Alessia was very flexible, patient and well versed on the tour. She took us to great food spots & we got alcoholic beverages at each one! Loved it so much. Would highly recommend. We can’t wait to do it again at her other locations.

This was one of the most fun (and tasty) experiences I’ve had in a long time! Met in Red Bank with my party, who happened to be a group of people that I’d never met before. We met at Toast in Red Bank, and I was already excited because I love that place. We started out with “ice breakers” I can to get things going, along with some yummy mimosas. We ate and drank the afternoon away, stopping at 2 other places “Kitchen Tex-Mex” and “b2bistro” both with delicious drink pairings and phenomenal food selections. Of course no meal is complete without dessert (thank you Sugarush) and thank you Alessia for being a wonderful hostess! I will definitely be back soon for another tour.

I had no idea what to expect when I booked a Beyond the Plate Food Tour. Alessia was amazing to work with from start to finish. She helped to plan an amazing day for a bachelorette party.
