Amazing cozy place to enjoy some delicious Japanese dishes. The food and service here got its own unique characteristics. A true hidden gem in JC. Love it!

I’ll keep this short. Don’t question whether you should try OZU- just try it. Udon- phenomenal. Bento box (chicken and beef)-phenomenal Matcha desert- phenomenal Staff? 10/10 Customer service is amazing and they go above and beyond. I’ll always come back

What's with the new restaurants in the Heights that are only open for like 4 hours on 4 days a week?? Why not put a sign out saying "don't come here". This place is clearly not for the people of the Heights. Way to be an integrated addition to the neighborhood. I'll never try going here again. Are you selling unicorns?

This food is the bomb, you cannot go wrong with literally anything on the menu. I’ve paid a lot more for a lot less, in both quality and quantity. This is the spot for Japanese. If you order a couple Onigirazus to go after you finish your main, you’ll have a great snack for later.

They go pretty non traditional, but in a good way. The pork belly in their ramen was truly the star of the show

I was skeptical that this place had such high a stars, it almost felt too good to be true but I decided to go check it out for myself because I had been jonesing for some Japanese "comfort food" vibes and HOLY Moly, it really did deserve their ratings. We were lucky to grab the only 2 seats that are available and everything was delicious. The Japanese rib, the rolls, my friend got the chicken bento box (which by the way has all the vegan sides) in addition to the rice and protein of your choice was very generous in size for the price and I just throughly enjoyed all of it Everything was flavorful. And they were very busy with take out orders. Trust and believe I will be going into Jersey City from Manhattan to go get me some more very soon.

Food was good. This is a small shop and best to dine out and quick bites. Ordered miso soup, seaweed salad, ribs, tuna roll and spicy tuna roll. Seaweed salad and the sushi are a must. Ribs were tender and juicy and the small portion will have you wanting more.

Talk about a hole in the wall of deliciousness. TINY little spot with Big flavor. I went with the go to ozu pork Ramen and the broth was rich, the noodles had that perfect chew factor and the pork belly and mushrooms accompanied by the perfectly runny egg just brought it all together. Sofia went fairly classic as well stuffing her face with 3 sushi rolls. Spicy salmon and cucumber, spicy tuna and crab and avocado. Great little spot fo Japanese cravings.

The first thing to mention is that this place has limited hours. This can be found on Google, so plan ahead. The place itself is small. There's a small counter by the window and a table inside with a couple tables outside. It's an open kitchen and you can see what everyone is making. The food itself was pretty good. Nothing mind blowing but very solid quality food. The matcha pana cotta was especially good. Now for the constructive feedback. The place was very disorganized. Front of house was helping with orders and some of the cooks were serving food. It took about 20 minutes to get the food ready for pickup. It took about equally long to pay. While my order was correct I overhead at least two incorrect orders. Someone new needs to help out.

I’ll let these pictures speak for themselves. Waited over half an hour in the restaurant for this. Avocado was still hard as well. Staff were arguing with each other and seemed disorganized. Maybe it was an off day for them?

The food was good but I won’t go again and I’m giving it 3 stars because the lady that handled the online order printouts, also handled the cash and also made my bowl….with the same gloves!! When I said I strongly suggest you remove the gloves after handling cash before handling food, she took off her gloves and said I changed them. When I was clearly watching her handle everything with the same gloves.

Such an all around great experience. Very small, cozy place. I’m not sure if it was just the owners in there working and serving but they were all very pleasant. Every dish we had was phenomenal and priced great. Definitely going to be back soon!

Small bustling shop that whips up some healthy japanese home cooking. Ordered a tuna + salmon poke bowl and everything was spot on. From the nori sheets to the avocado, the cucumber pickles and edamame goes really well for a wholesome healthy meal. The miso soup was on the clearer watery side, hopefully they can make it a bit more flavorful.

We had the beef bento and tuna poke with edamame to start. Everything was fresh and delicious. They had seasonal specials that sounded delicious but I don’t eat cooked fish so we stayed on menu. We ate at the small tables out front and the service was spot on. We will definitely be back.

I just had, quite possibly, the best bowl of Ramen I've ever had. Pork falling apart, flavorful, and yet not overcooked. Egg, perfectly poached- not overcooked and still liquid yellow inside. The broth was so flavorful. I don't think I've ever had mushrooms in ramen, these were so perfectly flavored. I don't usually gush, but this meal was gushworthy! AND it was under 15 dollars...

Adorable hole in the wall, not much seating space but very cozy and homey. Ramen was delicious: noodles on point, broth delishous (not too salty and full of flavor), and the chasu pork was chasu'd properly. Definitely coming back for everything else on their menu

The chicken bento box had really authentic flavors, and honestly was a nice refreshing palette! I would definitely recommend this spot if you enjoy REAL Japanese cuisine.

It's a hidden gem! The sushi was made fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend for take out.

I was pretty blown away by the quality of the sushi here. If you like legit sushi/sashimi, then you'll love the quality fish that they use. If you're into mostly rolls, you'll love how well put together they are here; I personally love spicy salmon and tuna rolls, and they actually integrate finely diced hot peppers into the roll instead of just the typical spicy mayo. Love this place ❤.

Order ahead!! I placed the order around 7:10, arrived 7:30, got the order around 8. They are super busy and short of hands. Overall the food is good, not salty, good for ur health. But I think they need to change the fried oil, taste not fresh, that's why I gave four starts
