delicious, well prepared Indian food. Their palak kofta really is a must try and a hidden gem. Curries are creamy without being oily. nicely baked naan and crispy samosas. Also they include all the chutneys (green, red and onion) which is a must. Portions could be a little bigger but it’s worth it for the higher quality.

It is a nice small place with Bollywood music playing in the background. The ambience could've been slightly better but it is not bad. Food was great...Raitha, naan and parathas are great (the daal was slightly sweet but great nonetheless and you get rice along with it) They charge an additional % to pass on the card processing fee over to the customer - unusual.

This Indian Cuisine restaurant is a hidden gem! I heard about from my Sister and finally checked it out once I was craving Indian food. The service was excellent. They make you feel inviting and welcome. The atmosphere was very cozy and the lighting was just right to have conversation with someone, relax and enjoy your meal. The decor inside makes you feel like you traveled to India. There was many selections on the menu of meals I've never tried. I usually eat the same thing but the waiter was so friendly that he suggested different meals for me to try based on the usual meal I get. He made the right suggestions and now I have new favorite dishes. Excellent Indian restaurant dine-in or take-out!

This is an awesome restaurant. Service was very friendly and family warm. Everything we ordered was delicious, yet portions were generous. Sauces were rich and complex. Naans fresh and irresistible. Salty lassi was refreshing. Desserts were delicious as well.

Incredible INCREDIBLE food!!! The atmosphere is so peaceful and the service simply unmatched. We had their samosas and they’re the only samosas I’ve been able to find that don’t drag my tongue to hell with an incredibly succulent flavor to boot. I ordered a curry with “Must Try” written by it and I’m so glad I listened. They are also super thoughtful as they brought out a dessert plate for me on my birthday when we hadn’t even ordered one! Apparently the waiter remembered the reservation was for a birthday and brought out, among other things, the most delicious mango ice cream I’ve ever had. The other desserts on the plate were equally as delicious. This is definitely our new Indian food spot and I’m definitely coming back to try the lunch specials!

The food is delicious. I really recommend the chicken masala, I enjoyed it so much. The nuns are definitely the best one I have ever tried. The staff here is nice and very friendly. The atmosphere is so peaceful and calm with music in the background to make it all perfect. I am really happy that I stopped here instead of any other place. 😄

I normally don't share my ratings for take out (only dining in) but had to make an exception for this place. My son was screaming and my hopes for food were dwindling until one of the servers came outside and took my order on the sidewalk. So thankful!!! The quality of the food and quantity was amazing. My favorite Indian spot in JC by far. Can't wait to dine-in and try out more of the dishes. Plenty of naturally gluten free options for my wife Celiac Annie.

I came here with my family and we all really enjoyed our food. It was delicious, served quickly, and everyone there was very nice. We got the butter chicken, butter paneer, curry chicken, garlic naan, and lamb chops. I do want to point out it was pretty spicy which we were all okay with, but just something to note if spice is not for you.

My favourite place, when I want to avoid the hustle bustle of the Indian street on Newark ave. (think date night) Great vegetarian and vegan options. Great quantity and taste in the tomato soup. Paneer butter masala is a fav. Paneer tikka sizzler was pretty good(4/5) Did I mention the staff is great here? Super friendly and treat you to free stuff too

This is my second time ordering take away from Clove Garden. I called the order in and it was ready in 20 minutes. The food is consistently delicious!

3.5 stars is what I want to give them. The food was decent. Not my favorite indian restaurant though. It is a BYOB and that was good. We ordered chicken 65 and chicken curry with aloo paranthas. The quantity of food was okay but the chicken 65 was just fried chicken and felt very american style rather than indian style. The curry was okay too. Visit if you want a byob indian place in the area but otherwise there are better options available.

The food is fresh and amazing! I love this place! This is my 2nd time here and the food makes you feel like your having an orgasm and the service is impeccable!

Food doesn’t seem fresh and the dal makhni wasn’t even dal makhni. They just sprinkled chaat masala on top of fish fry and tomato soup was just loaded with cream. Not worth the price

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at the Indian restaurant, and I strongly advise against relying on positive reviews. This place is not suitable for vegetarians. I urge you to examine the accompanying photo, which clearly shows watery chutney, mango lassi and gravy. The paneer tikka lacked proper marination, tasting more like turmeric mixed with random spices. Our pakodas were overcooked, burnt, and excessively oily. The chicken khima naan/paratha was absolutely dreadful. The chicken seemed to be two days old and appeared blackened. Please refer to the image for evidence. We also ordered the vegetarian naan with chili garlic and garlic flavors, but they lacked any discernible taste. We had to send them back, and even after a remake, they were still unsatisfactory. Our dining experience was so appalling that we were compelled to leave in the middle of our meal. This was the first time I've ever had to abandon a restaurant due to such poor quality.

One of the best Indian restaurants in the JC area. Pretty tasty food and a concise menu. Good portion and service!

Service was outstanding. They could definitely teach other restaurants what great service means. Really appreciate our server's attentiveness and the friendliness of the expediter. The food was not the best of the best, but it was delicious. We had machli pakoda, haryali chicken sizzler, lamb korma, and chicken biryani. The best was the machli pakoda, it was perfect. The biryani was okay, but I'd get biryani elsewhere instead of here. That said, the raita was soooo good! Lamb korma was quite tasty. The haryali chicken was a hit, but I think the pieces were really big and could have been smaller. If you are on the fence between spice levels, I'd round up instead of down. We have seven year old twins and the staff was so sweet to them. They ate every bite. Again the service was top-notch. Thank you for a fun family evening. 💕

As usual…Always delicious! Always a friendly and awesome professional staff! Always leaving as if I ate for 3 people. The serving sizes are shareable! Awesome family experience. Brought my 16yr old daughter for the first time and she’s Hooked and feeling spoiled. Love this place! How can you not feel like family. The food and treatment keep you coming back!

I was excited by reading reviews but all went in vain. Look at the paneer tikka and paneer biryani, you cant fond worse than this anywhere else. A full contribution to make our dinner a worst experience. I could go in detail for both the food in areas to improve alot but one thing has been clear, dont fall for reviews.

It’s a nice little place for Indian food. They have indoor and outdoor seating and usually there is no wait. The service is quick and food is good and fresh. We ordered okra masala, daal makhani, garlic naan and tawa paratha. The food was decent. The desserts are a bit underwhelming, ras malai was okay but we did not like moond daal halwa.

This restaurant is amazing!! A friend recommended it. The food is brilliant!! I ordered online for the first visit to see how it is. 2 days later, I'm dining at Clove because the food is that delicious. This is one of my new go-to spots. So great!!

For an Indian Restaurant that caters for the American crowd, I really enjoyed this place. The spice levels are much more mild and it’s easy to bring my American friends here. I got the butter chicken and cheese naan which was exactly what I was looking for. I would suggest using more chicken as I felt it was lacking a bit. The cheese naan was perfectly soft and crispy. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. If you are looking for traditional/authentic Indian food with all the spices then this isn’t the place. Other than that, this restaurant will satisfy your needs. I would come back here to try more dishes.

Great experience overall! The service is top notch and is matched by the tasty food. We started with the samosa chat which was excellent! The tikka masala, goat masala, and rogan Josh were all excellent as well.

On our previous, first visit, we we treated like royalty and the curies and breads were particular and delicious; this time, waiters spent more yime on their phones than with us. And the special biriani, was a dry lackluste affair; pekoras were over cooked to unidentifiable crisps and a biriani needs to be pre-baked to infuse flavors, not an expedient stir fry. Disappointed.

Granted I haven’t tried many Indian restaurants in JC, I was very pleased with this spot. Food was awesome and pretty reasonably priced. 10% discount if you pay in cash. Spice and flavor was great. Good sized portions. Owner Benjamin was very nice and polite, and even gave me his number if I had any questions. I have a tree nut allergy and they were helpful with what dishes are OK for me. Can’t wait to go back and try more. Pictured is lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka tandoor, and garlic naan

Charming, pleasant little place. Very clean and welcoming. Interesting menu. Food that I tried was good, not exceptional - - but ambiance and service were top notch. Planning to go back and try other dishes. Seems to have a nice selection of both Vegan and Vegetarian options. Overall x c I'd say give it a try.
