We've lived here for 3 years and are so sad to leave! - AFFORDABILITY: You will not find more affordable rent for this much square footage in a doorman building anywhere in the nearby area. For instance, we pay $2600 for a ~900 square foot 1-bedroom apartment on one of the highest floors in the building with an unbelievable view. The building also has a gym, monthly social events, and an outdoor pool. - LOCATION: 3 minute walk to the Grove Street Path and the main area of Jersey City (aka Newark Avenue-- they close this area off so cars cannot drive there and it's filled with tons of shops/restaurants). 225 Grand is also a 5 minute walk from the water, so you can walk to the pier and take in the beautiful views of the Statute of Liberty or the NYC skyline. - QUIET: thank goodness there is no nearby construction, so it's quiet here! Which is saying a lot for Jersey City! - AMENITIES: you pay a ~$600/year amenities fee for monthly building events (i.e.: summer bbq party, holiday party, etc.) and access to the pool and gym (all equipment is state of the art with televisions, and they host yoga/pilates classes). The doormen are also incredibly friendly, and I've never had an issue picking up a package. If you'd like, the building also has its own parking garage attached to the building that you can pay for. Lastly, you can rent out the lounge for free so long as you post a notice about it on the 225 Grand building app. - MAINTENANCE: all of our maintenance requests were dealt with promptly and efficiently. The building is also kept in great shape (admittedly, the hallways of the building are incredibly strange-looking). Word of advice: when looking for a unit in this building, I would highly recommend an interior unit (aka one that faces the pool area) on a higher floor. Not only is it quieter, but you get AMAZING sunset views. The units that face the other directions (either Manhattan or 18 Park) are noisy. For instance, the side that faces Manhattan is right next to a school, so you can hear football games and crowds cheering in the late afternoon/weekends. On the 18 Park side, you will hear loud garbage trucks between 1-2 AM. All in all, if I did not have to relocate for work, I would stay here for another 3 years!

I moved in from California. Arrived on Thursday and started working in Manhattan immediately. But my mattress delivery was declined by Terry, saying the size of the package is too large. He called me to come home to accept the mattress in person when I was at work and could not do so. I had to slept on the floor for 2 days until because front desk refused to accept any "large" packages. Consider twice if you move from another state because getting started and buying basics like mattress could be an issue. I had a very unpleasant experience getting things started. Otherwise, things have been ok. There are water/appliances/fire alarm issues from time to time but the maintenance team is very responsive to any request.

There’s ALWAYS water issues every 2-3months so the water needs to be shut off last minute. I’ve lived here for 3+ years and it’s an ongoing issue and very inconvenient as running water is an essential. Definitely something going on with how they built the water system into this building. Can’t wait to move.

Been living here almost 2 years. I love the front desk/maintenance staff and my apartment BUT do not move here if work from home or spend a lot of time at home. Every few weeks it’s like last minute water shut off, electricity shut off, etc. It’s super frustrating to be here all day without utilities and/or having to arrange to work somewhere else for the day when you don’t have internet. Building won’t do a single thing to compensate you for living without utilities several days of the month even though rent is well over 2K and you’re unable to use your toilet for the day.

I have had the pleasure of residing at 225 Grand for 4 years and I have had a wonderful, safe and peaceful stay here. It definitely is one of the more budget amenity buildings in the locality, at least by our experience. The building is a KRE facility and hence rent payment, lease application and maintenance requests all can be done online. The building management is very accommodating and cooperating. They really work to make your life easy. The apartments are well planned and we did not have any complaints. Highly recommended!

Have lived for 3 years and its a great place to live. The management is quick to fix any issues and problems. The building is close to Mahattan and has many great transportation options within walking distance such as Path, Light Rail, and Ferry.

One of the best management team I have ever experienced in the NYC area. Nice front desk staffs and quick respond to maintenance requests, and management organized plenty activities for tenant. Only drawback is occasional shut down of water and electric due to maintenance.

From looking at the apartments in 225, choosing the right one and throughout the very quick and easy application process... it was one of the easiest experiences I have had applying for a building! Matt and Ashley were great to work with, quick to respond to any questions.

We've lived at 225 Grand for 3 years now, and recently extended for another year. This is a pretty great building to be in with very responsive, friendly staff members, as well as a great community feel.

Coming from living in a building without a front desk in Jersey City for the last 12 years - the folks at the front desk at 225 Grand make the building a community…welcoming the kids, pets…celebrating the victories and being a cheering squad for those long days! A nice place to call home.

We REALLY enjoying living here, has been recommending it to everyone around me! From the price to the management team. Everyone is so nice and welcomes you every morning and afternoon. They make friends with you. Whenever we needed something to be fixed, someone will appear timely and go above and beyond to help us solve the problem. Best experience ever in JC area!

I moved here in March 2023 and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. From the perfect location to the friendly and hardworking staff, 225 Grand has been a great place to call home!

225 Grand is a comfortable and well located building but the best part of living here is the amazing responsive and caring Six Star Staff! You won't find a more conscientious group of people -- each devoted to doing an excellent job -- each always willing to help the tenants. The Staff here help turn an apartment house into a home for the people who live at 225!

Absolutely amazing to live here. Everyone is so kind and generous. The best part of this building is how they want to build a community by engaging us in lot of activities. I love the part that they put lot of efforts in their service. Thank you 225 Grand for your exceptional service.

235 Grand is the best managed building in JC and the staff is great! We really appreciate how above and beyond Domingo goes to help everyone.

We've been living in this apartment building for over two years, and in general, it's been a wonderful experience. While things may arise sporadically, the building is well-maintained, clean, and safe. The location is perfect as you're close to public transportation (PATH and Light Rail), downtown, and the waterfront. The apartments are spacious, too. What makes this place unique is the 225 Grand St staff. The 225 Grand team is always friendly and helpful, and any issues get resolved promptly. Terry, Julio, Victor, Trishelle, Manny, and Joe always go above and beyond and make us feel welcome. I recommend 225 Grand to anyone looking for a great place to call home.

225 is a Grand place to live. Management and staff go the extra mile to keep the building clean and pleasant. It’s within walking distance to most services in a safe neighborhood. I give it five stars.

The building has good amenities and nice staffs. Occasionally, it has interesting events. The only reason I give 4 stars is that one of the front desk guys is usually very rude when my roommate and I ask for something. Other staffs are very friendly and will say hi to you.

I like the friendly front desk staff here compared to the drama in some building nearby. The maintenance team is reliable. It's my 2nd year in this building. Pleasant experience so far.

I've been living with my family in 225 Grand since January 2019 and we're very happy with the building, staff and amenities. We'll soon be moving in a bigger apartment that 225 has. - the space and quality you get for the price is very good. - front desk is very friendly and helpful - the building is kept very clean - the maintenance staff will fix in a timely manner all that you report(and makes sense) - the leasing agent we worked with, Matt, was very responsive and helpful during the whole relocation process

Overall I had a great experience moving into 225 grand and have absolutely loved living here. The room is nice and spacious with incredibly high ceiling. The first thing any new guest to my apartment comments on is the high ceilings and how it makes the entire apartment look bigger. The amenities in the building are great as well. My girlfriend pretty much spent every free hour in the summer out by the pool. In addition, our leasing agent was Matthew Laderman and he was fantastic throughout the entire process. He showed us multiple units in the building, gave us a great price and has continues to be friendly anytime we see him in and around the building. I would highly recommend the building to anyone and would suggest if possible to get Matthew as your leasing agent.

I am a prospective tenant and had a very pleasant experience viewing a 1 BR/BA in the building. I was very surprised how spacious it was, considering similar floor plans at other buildings. The building had very good amenities as well. Ashley from the leasing team was very cordial and went over all the relevant details in a timely manner. Looking forward to moving in!

Close to Grove Street Path station (5 mins walk) and 1 block away from the Light rail. This area of Jersey City has really developed and offers great convenience. We enjoyed being in the close vicinity of more than 4 supermarkets, private and public schools, pier and the views of the Statute of Liberty or the NYC skyline. All these are within 5-10 mins walk away. The corner units facing the 18 Park offers a great view, and have plenty of sunshine all year round. Not only is it quiet, but there are incredible sunset views to enjoy. Every staff we have met is courteous, reliable and responsible. After browsing many rental buildings with comparable square footage in a doorman building, 225 Grand offers the greatest value for money. Highly recommend 225 Grand Apartments!
