The food was fine, large portions. The fish was crispy and everything was enjoyable, but not particularly memorable. It didn't taste particularly like freaky made food. The staff was attentive but a bit distracted, even on a mostly empty house they forgot part of the order and brought the wrong check.

Good Mexican food in warm atmosphere. This place has been an upper west side staple for years and still a reliably good Mexican restaurant. Much better than most others in the area. But it's not a typical taco joint. Menu more eclectic. The carne asada with mashed sweet potatoes and roasted zucchini is delicious.

I can’t speak for the food, as we didn’t sit for dinner but we came for drinks and guac and loved everything! The guac was very fresh, so was the salsa. We tried several of the margs on the menu (spicy, mango, ginger and 71). I love that they have the 71 as an option (less sweet).

Great restaurant! I didn't really have any Mexican food there, but the burger and sliders are very good.

Just happened upon this place strolling out of Central Park on the west side. Had a table for 1 outside. The huevos rancheros were awesome! And the En Fuego Margherita was fantastic! Service was great. I'll definitely be back with friends.

I recently dined at this outstanding Mexican restaurant in NYC, and I can't stop raving about it! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance. The menu offered a tantalizing array of authentic Mexican dishes that left my taste buds dancing with delight. I got the enchiladas, which were a true masterpiece. Filled with tender, perfectly seasoned meat and smothered in a rich, flavorful sauce, each bite was a burst of deliciousness. The margaritas were expertly crafted, striking the ideal balance of sweetness and tang, and they paired beautifully with my meal. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the cuisine. If you're in NYC and craving an unforgettable Mexican dining experience, this restaurant is a must-visit!!!!

Potent margaritas is right! My partner and I ordered the frozen strawberry margaritas to accompany some really good quesadillas and steak frites and I was extremely pleased with the side order of rice and beans. Service was kind and friendly.

The guacamole was good. ($15 for a small dish of it.) The water was cold. The table was available immediately, compared to a 30 minute wait where we tried to go first. The food truly was not very good. We ordered chicken fajitas and the chicken was so gross and chewy I had to spit it out in my napkin. The tortillas were obviously from a plastic package and smelled and tasted as such. The chips tasted like they came from a cheap grocery store bag. We didn't care for the salsa. Overall, we would Definitely not return. We were tired and just wanted to leave without a fuss but our food was pretty gross,in particular the chicken fajitas. We are used to fresh salsas, chips and tortillas so it was a real disappointment. The atmosphere outside was nice on a pleasant fall evening and the staff was polite.

Where would you go during Cinco de Mayo? I had friends visiting the city, therefore, I wanted to make sure they experienced the best, least commercial restaurant that the city has to offer. As this is Manhattan, it's almost a job in itself to choose from thousands of great restaurants. Santa Fe Restaurant is conveniently located in the West Side of Manhattan. We had a large group, so we ordered an array of dishes. Start with guacamole and salsa, shrimp over rice, and any chicken dish — everything is delicious. Their dessert is so convincing that it's impossible to keep to your diet. I’m not a huge drinker myself, but I saw guests indulging in several rounds in a bid to explore their wide range of cocktails. I can’t wait to return!

What a decline! I've been going to this wonderful family owned restaurant for 15 years. Pandemic losses forced the 3rd generation of owners to co-sign with the landlord to survive. The day after Thanksgiving 2022 the landlord FIRED the family owners for no other reason than to take advantage of post-pandemic recovery and force the steal of their business. But they have (had) the best burger and fries in town! So 3 times now I have (guiltily) ordered it, delivery, as before. The fries are now mysteriously soggy, the burger is always overdone, and NO attention is paid to requests as simple as 'onion on the side, please', even though that used to be standard. It's just gone. Not an option. Even when one asks nicely. I finally have to accept that Santa Fe has gone from an UWS delicious and welcoming haven to shockingly mediocre. 😥

I never write reviews but our experience was terrible- I would highly recommend to avoid this place. We should've taken heed of the first red flag when they served us chips that were straight from the grocery store. The service was awful, our food took ages to come out, and when it finally did it was cold. Other tables around us got their food in a timely manner- it seems like our waiter forgot about us. But rather than apologize, he told us that lots of other people that night had complained about the service. (Was that supposed to make me feel better?) He brought the manager over (which we told him we didn't want because we had wasted enough time there) and the manager continued to make pitiful excuses rather than apologize, and told us that he hoped we would come back. We certainly will not. On top of it all the food was mediocre at best and EXTREMELY overpriced.

Excellent food, very tasty. The sauce and chicken were excellent. The quantity is more than sufficient. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Extra thanks for participating to Too good to go and limiting food waste.

Great service and amazing food we had a chimichanga & steak fajitas I was pleasantly saprised when they asked me how I wanted my steak cooked usually Mexican restaurants don't do that and bring I like it more on rare side it was perfect also got some margaritas and there a bit pricey at $18 a pop but they make them strong at least all and all recommend great place and quick and friendly staff.

Great meal at Santa Fe. The guacamole was perfectly balanced and spicy and thank goodness for the portions because once you start it's hard to stop. We live in the neighborhood and love coming for some Sangaritas [unorthodox? Yes. Delicious? Also yes.] And steak quesadillas. If this is your first venture into Southwestern cuisine, Sante Fe does it well.

We actually were trying to go to the place next door, but accidentally walked in this restaurant, and we’re Soooo glad. This place is so good!! We loved every bite till the end. Even when we were full, we wanted to keep eating. Shrimp tacos and some chipotle chicken meal.

Great ambience, quick service, quality food! A bit overpriced for Mexican dishes, but you're paying mostly for the ambience and service. Overall nice place for a brunch or a meal!

Wonderful dinner at Santa Fe last night. It started out with an issue with our reservation. The manager, Liz, was wonderful in moving things around to accommodate us. She was so sweet and helpful. We had the best chipolte chicken covered in the most delicious sauce. The freshly made guacamole was superb. The yummy skirt steak quesadilla was filled with the most tender steak. Despite the restaurant being filled the service was excellent. We are Santa Fe converts and will be back often.
