Khama Gani🙏 Mehrangarh fort is the pride of Jodhpur, one can see solid engineering. The fort is huge and it would take time to visit. Old dresses, palkis, weapons can be seen. The history can be felt being in there itself. Must visit this place if you are in jodhpur. Parking is available, ticket can be purchased from the counter.

Mehrangarh Fort holds the pride of place in Jodhpur because of its splendid architecture and the diverse history associated with it. Considered as one of the most formidable and magnificent forts of Rajasthan, Mehrangarh fort was built by Rao Jodha in the year 1459. The fort is spread over an area of 5 km and is built on 125 m high hill in the outskirts of Jodhpur city. There are seven gates, which can be used to enter the Mehrangarh fort. These 7 gates are made by different rulers, and are built in honour of victory over Bikaner and Jaipur armies. One can see the panoramic view of the Jodhpur city from this fort, which seems like a blue carpet laid at the foot of a hill. Every ruler of Jodhpur has contributed in the making of this fort. Within the fort one can see the magnificent palaces. The main palaces located in the Mehrangarh Fort are Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Zenana Dude, Takht Vilas and Jhanki Mahal. There are also two temples located inside the fort - Chamundi Devi Mandir and Nagnechiaji Mandir, dedicated to Goddess Durga and the Kuldevi respectively. There is also a museum within the Mehrangarh fort, which exhibits a rich collection of palanquins, musical instruments, royal cradles, costumes, arms, furniture and paintings. ADDRESS Sodagaran Mohalla, Jodhpur, Rajasthan-342006, India TIMINGS 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Open on all days

Google map helped me a lot during maherangadh fort trip And let me tell you about maherangadh fort this place is really good for history lovers and if you specially like rajput culture then this is the place this place will also give you good information about Indian architect And one thing I was shocking about this fort did not have any fans or airconditioner still there was no hot temperature in side may that was because of the buildings design

The most surefire way of reaching Mehrangarh fort is by taking an auto rickshaw or cab after deciding the price beforehand. However, this can be a little expensive an option and if it cannot be exercised then Mehrangarh fort can also be reached by one of the city buses but these have a very low frequency in Jodhpur... Nice Road....Nice View ...Everything Good.

A marvel of solid engineering of medieval times . This fort is massive both in area and architecture . It is still in such good condition and reminds about the patronising of their subjects by valiant and generous Rajput rulers . One can easily live and feel the history by visiting this fort . The tour of fort requires a good amount of time so don't forget to keep a water bottle in your hand .

Awestruck with the massive structure of the palace... one of the finest example of medieval architecture. Must take a guide to learn more about the palace.

Mehrangarh Fort covers an area of 1,200 acres (486 hectares) in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. The complex is located on a hilltop around 122 metres above the surrounding plain, and was constructed . 1459 by Rajput ruler Rao Jodha, though most of the existing structure is from the 17th century. Inside its boundaries there are several palaces known for their intricate carvings and expansive courtyards, as well as a museum housing various relics. A winding road leads to and from the city below. The imprints of the impact of cannonballs fired by attacking armies of Jaipur can still be seen on the second gate.
