I had the best solo date at Mikes Heritage House! The peace there is unmatched. The food was 10/10 and the waiters (Romeo & Walter) are the best 🙌🏽. Had a great time and definitely come back .

Visited Mikes Kitchen for my birthday this year and had the best experience. Beautiful outdoor tables. The food was great as was excellent with classics like steak and burgers. But, they have updated their menu to have more modern/healthy meal options too. Always a treat to have a sparkler and slice of cake and ice cream on your special day. Lovely place for Sunday afternoon lunch with family or friends. The portions are filling and their specialty is their steaks, so definitely recommend that. Their seafood is also good 👍🏽. Their cocktails menu is a bit limited, would’ve liked to see more options.

I ordered your classic burger twice and on both the temperature of the beef patty was terribly undercooked. I always order my burgers well-done because it's ground beef so I like to be safe.I'm upset because this occurred a second time and on both occasions I ordered on the delivery app so I couldn't return the meal. I'm really annoyed by this mainly because I gave you guys the benefit of the doubt and you let me down again.

Food was amazing, the service was exceptional and fast. I definitely recommend coming to this place,its fine dinning at its best. The problem is the cat that's on the lawn, i don't like cats. So eating and seeing that cat was uncomfortable and disturbing disturbing

A beautiful and serene dining experience. Delicious food that's served with a smile. Lots and lots of options to choose from, including a ton of options of vegetarians and vegans. Service is unparalleled, everyone has a smile and everyone's attentive. Loved the experience. Will definitely be back for more. P.S the mushroom + spinach + tofu toastie with a hint of hot red chillies is highly recommended.

Service and the food was excellent. It's good to know even after all these years, thier standards haven't dropped. Enjoyed the meals with a few "friends" who came to say hello whilst we were eating.

Great atmosphere, I was here on a busy day without reservation and we were seated in the garden area… I met the most friendliest cat a gorgeous tabby cat The service was great and the food and drinks were okay…. I would visit again. Parking is not enough though so I had to park elsewhere and walk across to the restaurant

I havent been here since i was a teen which many years ago. I was suprised to see how well kept the place is. Was happy with service and the food and the pricing. ( below is ommelete with feta, bacon and avo) delicious!!!!Everything was to a high standard. I will most def come back.

I attended a birthday party of a dear friend. The food was scrumptious, service outstanding and the portions good value for money. My starter of garlic mushrooms, spinach and cheese with bacon was enough as a main meal. I appreciate the care provided to the cat 🐈‍⬛ 😃

The food at Mike's kitchen never disappoints. We wiped out plates clean. We visited on a Friday, it was very busy but the service was efficient. We did not wait long for our drinks or the food. The ambiance is always beautiful. I'd highly recommend this place for romantic dates. O could dine here everyday.

The service was good we didn’t wait long for the food and the lady who served us was amazing. I had the kingklip and grilled calamari which was great. We also had the shack burger which was nice. My child ordered the chicken and mushroom pizza from the kids menu. Family friendly restaurant with a great outdoor area.

This place is gold! A beautifully maintained heritage house with gorgeous period decor, lovely garden seating (which is dog friendly), great food, outstanding staff and a fabulous vibe. Highly recommended.

Booking was easy, Table was ready upon arrival. We were greeted with smiles from the minute we walked in . All staff members were friendly and welcoming. Our waiter, Aphelele, was absolutely fantastic! He was attentive and added to our enjoyment of the evening with witty banter. The food was absolutely out of this world! All round a lovely birthday celebration was enjoyed by all. Thank you. 🌟 No wonder that this remains a favourite spot.

Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere eating outside. Our table was under the shade of trees and the umbrella as well, the air was so refreshing there considering the heatwave going on now.

Probably the most beautiful Mikes Kitchen in the city. The old architecture and well kept outside area gives this place a homely feel. The milkshakes are heavenly and the food just as good. Only complain I have is that my steak was very unevenly cooked. The one side was medium going onto well done and the other rare and I asked for medium rare. The staff that helped us was very friendly and sparked great conversation with us. I will definitely recommend to give this place a visit, even if it is just to give the house it is built in a good look at.

I really had delicious food with my partner

My partner and I went to Mike’s kitchen to celebrate our anniversary. We chose the place because of it’s calm set up that can make you forget that there are other people in the restaurant. The restaurant is clean, relaxed and beautiful, we were directed to our table and given menu’s afterwards we literally had to grab any waiter or waitresses attention for them to take our orders because the waitress allocated to our table was too busy and forgot about us. When we finally received help, we placed our orders and we ate our dinner and when we were full we had to once again struggle with assistance to get a takeaway and the bill, by the time we received help I had forced myself to over eat because I didn’t want to wait for another 20 minutes for my leftovers to come back to us. Overall the service we received was horrible and at some point my partner wanted to to leave however I insisted because I love the foo there and I ended up regretting it because of how poor the service was and.

Better than home away from home meals

Came often as a child, still the same. If you are interested in history and architecture, then this is a must. The house is beautifully renovated and maintained. Quick and friendly service. Not once did we have to look for service. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and pre-empted our needs. Though some may feel that toward the end of the meal that you are being rushed along to clear the table. Manager seemed friendly, and served customers. Whilst he checked in on other tables, he did not once checked in on us (or certain other tables), but rather would glance in our direction, meanwhile checking in elsewhere 2 or 3 times. Interpret that how you want. Food was delicious and generous portions. Liked the crispy fries, though it would be too hard for most children.

The service was good, not so much the chicken; the chicken was old! oh the fries, do they really call those hard things fries? Really disappointed 😔

Mike's Kitchen... Exquisite menus, if you are blind, the aroma will get you definitely hungry. The site of the menu will also get you excited. Nice garden too.

Unusual experience, not sure what went wrong. Ordered a burger and the patty was simply raw. Ordered tea with cold milk, asked two different personnel but still got hot milk. Chips and onion rings were very oily, also unusual. Was not offered another patty or even to recook it, so I paid and left. It was early on Thursday morning and was not busy at all. Worst R200 ever spent.

Ordered the previous breakfast and it really wasn't wow, except for the sause. Nevertheless, I love My mikes kitchen, they offer good food in big portions.

We were seated at a table in a lovely garden setting under a gazebo. Excellent service from Lesedi she was very friendly and efficient. The food was fresh and served in large portions as well as delicious milkshakes. I was served a complimentary cheesecake for my birthday which was a pleasant bonus. Great place to have lunch.

The food was very tasty and mouth-watering. I was not happy with the tip I was forced to pay, by the waiter. The receipt bill specified that if the table served has 4 or more people then the minimum tip is 10% of the bill, but we were only 3.

The food and the vibe at Mike's kitchen was nice but they don't give those sweets anymore they give a lousy excuse for not giving the sweets I was disappointed by this

One of my favourite spots in Joburg, and especially useful if you’re looking for a Covid-Safe space. Lots of well-spaced outdoor seating in a beautiful garden setting. All managers and staff wear their masks, and there is frequent sanitization. As for the food: delectable & comforting steakhouse fare. I always go for a burger (the NikNak burger is a particular favourite), but am never disappointed.

Wonderful place. Has great menu options, and the breakfast is well made. I love the design of the place, with the garden making it a peach to work there in peace and quiet. The interior decoration also adds a bit of class to the place.
