I
made
the
most
unfortunate
error
in
booking
a
no
cancel
reservation
through
Expedia
for
this
place
based
on
its
“value”
rating…
my
bad…
NEVER
AGAIN
will
I
a)
use
Expedia
(or
ANY
third
party)
to
book
a
room,
because
you
lose
ALL
leverage
with
unforeseen
conditions/accommodations,
and
b)
take
seriously
the
positive
reviews
posted
on-line
for
2-star
“budget”
chains.
Specifically,
this
place
is
gross,
by
the
most
relaxed
standards…
no
frills,
but
a
clean
room
and
polite
check-in
is
MY
expectation
for
a
run
of
the
mill
overnight
sleep
stay.
My
arrival
was
not
that
late,
7:30
pm
on
a
weekday,
yet
no
initial
signs
of
life
behind
a
locked
office
door…
and
after
a
few
taps
on
the
glass
someone
emerged,
with
all
the
“grace”
and
“charm”
that
one
might
expect
in
a
back
alley
flop
house
from
the
1930’s.
After
a
lengthy
interrogation
and
confirmation
of
my
reservation,
I
was
matched
up
with
a
room
so
hideously
filthy
that
I
couldn’t
imagine
how
this
place
survives
as
a
place
of
business…
then
again,
it
seems
to
attract
a
very
“select”
group
of
transient
guests
that
could
double
on
a
set
of
any
B-movie
dive.
I
actually
slept
on
a
blanket
I
pulled
from
the
trunk
of
my
car…
between
the
dank
odor,
smokiness,
creepy
crawlers,
and
trash!!!
in
this
era
of
COVID-19
preparedness,
quite
a
shock.
And,
get
this:
when
I
returned
to
the
Front
Desk,
to
ask
for
another
room
(perhaps
one
that
had
been
cleaned?),
I
was
offered
a
“special
rate”
to
“upgrade”…
WTH?!?
I
had
ALREADY
prepaid
via
Expedia
for
a
“special”
deluxe
king
room…
I
had
no
idea
that
CLEANING
was
an
additional
option.
Throw
in
the
noise
next
door,
above,
outside…
the
“ambiance”
of
an
outdated
motel
structure
with
non-working
HVAC!!!
after
two
hours,
I
left
at
10
and
trekked
the
five
hours
home
instead.
You
can
bet
that
Expedia,
Trip
Advisor,
and
Red
Roof
Inn
will
all
get
my
feedback.
It’s
no
bargain
to
pay
“less”
for
a
nightmare
experience,
as
much
as
it’s
difficult
to
pony
up
for
the
“deals”
being
offered
by
3
or
4
star
accommodations.
Buyer
beware!
