That was a welcome surprise! This place just became my new GO-TO spot for breakfast. Had homemade corned beef hash with two perfectly cooked fried eggs. The hash was mostly meat and substantial. So delicious! Substituted GF banana bread for toast. That couldn't be GF! It was rich and moist and full of banana flavor. I walked in with a big appetite and walked out FULL. Very reasonable prices. Great porch seating. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Peaceful and delicious. What more could you want? This place is going to be around as long as they want. Thank you Railside Cafe.

First time there, had a delicious homemade open-face turkey sandwich with homemade mashed potatoes and homemade gravy. Would recommend. Definitely will go back next time I'm in NY.

What a delightful place for a delicious breakfast. We were able to sit outside on the deck for our visit. Everything was so nice. Service great, asparagus omelette right on the money as was the homemade English muffin. Husband's cinnamon swirl french toast and oatmeal also right on! Great place - so glad we found it.

We always look for breakfast places while we travel. This little gem was amazing, with delicious food all the way around, reminded by boyfriend of his grandma's home cooking

Great local restaurant that hasn't lost a beat even through the transfer of ownership! Still the place to go in the Johnstown area!

Quality of food is very good. Limited seating and staff. Overall a good place to go sit down and eat if you are not in a rush.

Great hometown Cafe. Nice little place with homemade comfort food! Food came hot and definitely over filled the plate. Service was fast and efficient. She was welcoming and kind. When in the area if you're looking for a quick hot meal, Railside Cafe is the place to go. Located in a residential area down a not so busy street. House was converted into the cafe. Extremely quant and comfortable.

Swinging by for a quick breakfast. Portion is large but in a good way. The owner couple is very kind, explaining things on the menu. Reasonable price and good food. 👍

What a surprise to have such a great little diner. The homemade English muffins, swirl bread French toast that aren't too sweet and attentive staff make this a pleasant stop.

Its difficult to find someplace with a good breakfast nowadays! I worked in a diner serving eggs and toast on hand written tickets for the kitchen and the register from 2002-later in life. This place did everything perfectly. The home fries were the top three, possibly the best I've ever had. Perfectly soft in the middle with reddish brown crispness on the outside. The eggs were actual eggs not box of eggs. The rye toast was perfect. The bacon was plentiful and crisp to perfection. We had an egg sandwich with sausage on a home made English muffin. Perfection. We tried a piece of cinnamon swirl french toast which was on special, perfect sweetness with everything else. The coffee was HOT and came around often. Small Town, family owned places like this are dissapearing! Everyone we talked to was pleasant and helpful. So happy to have found a place in Johnstown! We will be back soon and can't wait to try the lunch!

Very nice diner. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The decorations were quaint and the music was nice and mellow, 70s and 80s. Food was well priced and tasty, but the home fries were a bit undercooked. If I'm ever passing through town again I would stop here again in a heartbeat!

The BEST breakfast spot in the area. Clean lil place with friendly staff. If they have their homemade cornbeef and hash on the menu, order it!!! You will not be disappointed 😊

This little restaurant never disappoints. Owner roasts her own turkey and chicken for Thursday's hot turkey sandwiches and chicken and biscuits. Great variety, good prices.

A gem! Delicious breakfast without pretensions. French toast, biscuits, homemade English muffins, and the BEST corned beef hash I’ve EVER had! The staff is always friendly and attentive, and it’s always clean as a whistle.

👍👍 Very neat and nice bar/restaurant. The bacon burger on steroids was very good and filling. Lots of bacon! Good selection of beers. Sydney the bartender was very sweet as well. Will be coming back here again.

👍👍 To rave about the food: we ordered and split a sandwich called The Ross (aka bratwurst topped with pickle, mustard, sauerkraut, sautéed onions, and fresh cilantro in a bun) with She Crab soup. The sandwich is something I’d recommend, however, it takes a particular set of taste buds to enjoy the She...

🫤 This restaurant has gone down terribly. We went at 600pm for dinner. They were short staffed. My husband ordered the meatloaf dinner and I had the Taco salad. There were only 2-3other tables with customers. We placed our order and took over a half an hour to receive our dinner. The food was Luke wa...
