Traditions are timeless. I remember this place since childhood. People playng chess. Special atmosphere in the park.

OK, not the Las Vegas Bellagio fountains, but here, in this lovely park setting is a mini version. It grows on strength, rising to a crescendo of powerful jets before shutting off. Children crown round and look shocked when it stops, families stroll around, and many tourists stop for a chilled few moments on the many benches ringing the fountain.

So weak. In a such big park where people are coming all day long to have a walk, to enjoy the view on a hot day it hardly works on evenings with big pauses between songs. I can't help it, but compare it with a simple, yet very much more amusing and entertaining fountain in Druskininkai. In Vilnius there are so many fountains, but non of them can impress you. And this one is a bit of a failure.

At summertime, every 15 minutes, some new musical-fountain "mini-concert". Really good and nice place to spend some time or simply chill in shadow of the huge & old trees.
