We went here with my family because of the nice reviews. We ordered some drinks and some brauhaus bratwurst for lunch (number 7 and 28). To be honest, the bratwurst wasn't very special. The taste was okay but it was not juicy at all compared to what we had in the past in other German places. The amount of meat you get is pretty impressive though. What really didn't deserve more than 1 star was actually the attitude of the staff. When the waitress came to take our drink order, two of us ordered and the rest were checking the menu as there was quite a list of selection of beers. Just when they were about to order, the waitress just walked away without saying anything and with no intention of coming back. When the two ordered drinks came, brought by a different waitress, she was surprised that we wanted to order the remaining drinks. Some time later when the first waitress came to take our food order and we were basically treated with the same impatience even though it was not busy at all in the restaurant. We couldn't help but also notice the difference between her attitude towards other customers and us (who were not native German). Honestly I've never felt so discriminated and unwelcome at a restaurant before.

A must visit restaurant and bar in Koblenz. The house specials are awesome. The food the quite affordable with respect to the portions served.

Delicious food and my first time eating German food. A very popular hangout for the locals and the owner gives out free beer to struggling locals and I respect that alot. I really liked the blood sausage and the plates were really big!! Highly recommend!!!

The place has an old restaurant charm vibe. The service is ok, the food was ok, the price is ok. This is a good place to just have fun with friends while drinking indoors.

Can't say enough about this place. Best atmosphere so far in any place I've been to in Germany. The bartender was friendly and FUNNY. The beer was great. The food was perfect, no complaints at all. Great place to come with my family and open some English menus and have the food be hot and fresh and the beer cold and the cozy surroundings, and seeing everyone else enjoy themselves too.

Felt like I had an authentic German pub experience. It was lively, everyone was having a good time, beers didn't stay empty for long and I had a pork knuckle that was big enough to sink a small island.

So much delicious food. Very busy but the short wait to be served was worth it. Our waiter was running but took the time to explain a couple things. As it slowed down he came over and we chatted and laughed. He was fun. Excellent service. We felt appreciated

Great local german restaurant with delicious meat dishes. The restaurant have a queue on busy dinner hours but the food is worth the wait. Not a lot of good wine selection but the beer selection is great. The restaurant have an old traditional ambience. Service is nice but could have room for improvements. Definitely recommend this restaurant when in Koblenz.

To be honest I didn’t have much expectations for German food since I got a bad experience with it the first time I tried it. However, Altes Brauhaus restored my faith in German food. The restaurant is filled with the locals and you know that’s a good sign. I forgot the name of our dishes but they were bomb af! The food is full of meat (my favorite) and they are seasoned very very well! Everything seems to be so warm and comforting. It’s not the best food for your diet since they comes with fries (my other favorite) but hey, you’re here for a good time and I guarantee you that! The restaurant is very old, the outside said it’s from 1869 or something. So you know it has a tradition 😉 The simple yet cozy decoration made us feel very welcoming. I highly recommend this place!

I dined here on July 5, 2022. After Frankfurt, Boppard and Bacharach this place sucks in service. My mail server Slim was difficult and very unhelpful. He obviously spoke English but pretended not to understand me. We Americans, come to the old restaurants for the food and experience, but not to be humiliated and feel small. My Sauerbraten was good, but nothing to write home about.

Portions are generous. Menu has a variety of choices but if you unfamiliar with local food and have no someone to guide it is hard to make a selection. Food tasted good but was over-salted. Non-alcohol beer had a bitter taste. Apple juice was served in a beer glass. Overall not impressive.

Such a cool place to stop for a beer, a snack or to meet your friends. Great service by the owner and his sister. Super friendly and feels like a local hangout.

Went there for late lunch early dinner around 3pm on a Tuesday. Restaurant and bar area were still quite busy but there’s a table so we guessed the lunch time must be even more crowded. Only three staff handling both bar and dining area so we waited for some time before we got served. 🇬🇧 English menu available upon request 🍴 Portions were quite large, be prepared 🐶 Dog friendly, water bowl available upon request

I loved the food, the portions the attention to detail, ie they catered for my sister who has a garlic intolerance. The staff where friendly and they helped me with my broken German. Ok very little German and we all had a jolly good night as the beer kept flowing. 100% recommended

Amazing food, great beer, in the best ambiance. If you want your stomach bursting, order the porks ribs. But if you want something manageable I would order the Haxentopf. (Pic attached)

Will NOT return: too sweet! Old, since 1689. Irish - many towns in the Middle Rhine valley have their Celtic origins (right?) German - the lady is very forceful and direct … Fake flowers are everywhere - such a turn off. They’re fully books but took us in at 4:55. I told her that we’d out by 6pm. The house did fill by the time we left at 5:55. One short man by the door won’t budge to let us out, nor his friend behind him. Ow will - don’t like Asians? The beer and wine are great but both entrees are large portion line feeding a platoon and sweet - what the hell. The sweetness is NOT from the bell pepper or paprika. My salad dressing is like syrup. The dry Riesling from Boppard is very yummy.

I recently dined at Altes Brauhaus and have mixed feelings about my experience. On the positive side, the food was delightful, and the ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall dining experience. However, the service left much to be desired. Our main issue occurred at payment. We intended to pay by credit card, but after trying six different cards, none worked due to an issue with the restaurant's card reader. Instead of acknowledging the technical problem, one of the staff members, Majli, accused us of not having sufficient funds, which was both embarrassing and unprofessional. Eventually, we were forced to withdraw cash from an ATM to settle our bill, adding inconvenience to an already uncomfortable situation. While the culinary aspect was enjoyable, the service experience significantly detracted from our evening. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues for future customers.

Great traditional food and beer. Highly recommend a visit but make sure you book as very popular.

We ate a Haxegrill and Jäger-Schnitzel. They tasted absolutely amazing, but the Haxe was beter, tender inside and crunchy outside. The portions are big. The only inconvenient for us was that they sat us together with other people in the same table, quite unusual for us... Prices are fine, specially compared with other regions of Germany. 0,5 L beer = 5€ , Haxe = 15,90,

My husband & I ordered the sauerbraten and the beer onion schnitzel and a salad to share ... 😲 This meal could have fed a small village, so bring your appetite! Everything was delicious!!! It is packed so make reservations if you can so you can experience the food here!!!

The Grilled Zander Fillet was delicious but had some bones in the fillet...so be careful. Also asked for a side of fries which surprisingly was a large amount. Washed it all down with two different beers.

A typical German restaurant with tasty plates, friendly staff and good prices. I read about the place when I was on a day visit in Koblenz. It is very much worthy. I tried Haxe and it was so tender and tasty.

Authentic German bierhouse. Be aware; huge, hearty portions. Very friendly service

Very good food, typically German. Ribs were amazing, snitzel was very good, goulash soup very well cooked. Small salad is good portion for one person. Sufficient quantity of wine served in the glass. Service was quite fast, but don't ask sth after you order, they will probably forget. Good atmosphere, although tables could be a little more distant. Toilettes are not that clean, more effort to maintain them clean is needed.

I ordered a 30 euro steak that came out tasteless and wet. No seasoning or flavour. A lemon in the salad was very dry and looked like it has been eaten and reused from another meal. Looks like a cool place so hopefully they can improve, maybe just don't order the steak.

I, being an international schnitzel expert, would insist that this this place is the best possible combination of price and quality and service and freshness and vibe. Each time after eating Jager Schnitzel met Bratkartoffel I feel massive improvement of health and resilience, much valuable especially during #COVID-19

Short stop for lunch during a city tour. Staff was very accommodating for English and kind and friendly. Food and beer were fantastic, especially the sauerbrauten. Highly recommended!

Local traditional resteraunt with large amount food. The food is so tasty! You can have Riesling wein with good quality here. Also, the price is not so expensive. Good to try it!
