I can only say something about the endoscopy department and ward 6c. The nursing staff and doctors in the above-mentioned wards were very nice and professional. My questions/fears were patiently addressed. The rooms are clean and up to date. The food is also very good for a hospital and there is a large selection.

I am a Doctor and I have seen many hospitals in many countries ,and I think that this hospital is the worst thing I have ever seen , patients are left and neglected for long long hours without being even checked.. doctors change shifts in the emergency room without handling the cases to the new shift (they just leave everyone and disappear) and most of the staff don't speak a second language, it is a disgrace on Medicine.

By far one of the best hospitals in the area. I've visited many time with my asthma and I've struggled normally as a non native German speaker. But here, the staff really do care for you and understand that sometimes you can only speak a little German or maybe just English. The hospital is clean, modern and we'll maintained.

(Translated by Google) A pure disaster! My father was here a month ago and I feel like he came out in ten times worse health when he was admitted. The employees are always in a bad mood, with every question they roll their eyes straight away, neither doctors nor the rest of the nursing staff take you seriously. When you press the bell you have to wait 30 minutes until someone comes over to check on you. I understand that people are probably overwhelmed because of a lack of staff - but that never gives you the right to be malicious to other people, especially sick people. I am absolutely disappointed and angry! (Original) Eine reine Katastrophe!

(Translated by Google) My mother is admitted to the RTW with suspected heart attack. It is connected to oxygen saturation and blood pressure monitor, when the alarm sounds in between nobody comes to check. My mother is in the emergency room for 8 hours. 8 hours. After several hours without liquid, I have to beg with a lot of begging to see if she can drink a little. After 5 hours it comes out "Yes, of course". My mother was mentally confused and her condition was bad. She arrives at the station at 2 a.m. In the emergency room there was 1x an assistant doctor and 1x a nurse. Incredible conditions. Scary and shocking.

(Translated by Google) Written by my mom. After a brain hemorrhage, my husband was in Merheim for early rehab for 3 months. When he was admitted, he could not speak, eat, sit, stand or walk. One day before his discharge (shortly before Christmas), my husband recited a poem during a Christmas party that was really lovingly designed for the patients. He went independently from his seat to the podium and read the verses clearly and loudly. This was only possible after an excellently coordinated therapy. Doctors, nurses, nurses and therapists knew their patients, communicated with each other and knew how to set priorities. The corridors are not cold corridors, with doors leading off to the right and left, I rather saw them as meeting places. The doors to the sickrooms were open. They greeted each other in the hallways. There were often short conversations with other relatives or employees, up to the chief doctor, who patiently answered the same question for the umpteenth time. I always thought my husband was in good hands and was always ready to listen if there were any problems. And like everywhere in life, how to shout into the forest ..... also "only" people work there who do incredible things. My respect, respect and sincere thanks go to you.

Waiting 5 hours and still not my turn! I can only recommend everyone to go to another hospital. Everyone here is completely overwhelmed. Here, after waiting 9 hours, someone left the emergency room in pain and crying - without treatment!

Very bad hospital. The nurses are not interested in the patient and do not help. The doctors are always busy and als not interested in the patient. The communication is very bad. If you hate your life and do not care about your health and life this is the perfect hospital.

(Translated by Google) On 18.7.2019 I got a new knee joint. I can only say that I would recommend this hospital to everyone. The doctors are 1 A. Today, 3 months later I walk without any pain, the extension is top and the flexion at 105 degrees. After 6 years of pain and limping, I'm running 52 years today top again. I have a strong will but without the doctors from Merheim my will would not have helped me either. I will be eternally grateful to you for what you have accomplished. Unfortunately only three stars, which is not due to the very great employees who do a great job. Thank you for that, I give it 5 stars! No, it's due to the bad parking situation because there are no free parking spaces left, only a fancy parking garage that costs a lot of €1 for 30 minutes. It's pretty intense, so I'm not surprised that most visitors stand somewhere. This could definitely be better. And that's why I'm deducting 2 stars.

Absolutely great professionals. From the first second in the emergency room to the discharge everything went perfectly. The doctors are super friendly and very competent. Many thanks to ward 4 B, the nurses here and everyone was always friendly and helpful. I felt very comfortable, almost like I was being pampered. The visits after discharge were also great. Many many thanks to the entire team that looked after me

Very long waiting times, despite other arrangements. You feel pretty alone. Relatives are not allowed to go to one, while others are allowed to do so for inexplicable reasons. Maybe more money or good relationships with doctors, as long as you don't know anyone on the staff personally, you should probably choose another hospital.

Long waiting times in the emergency room despite severe pain. The receptionist is dissatisfied with her job and is completely rude. 4 hour waiting time to be treated by the doctor and referred to the family doctor. Since the pain is unbearable, painkillers are requested, which are administered after 45 minutes (!). Avoid the emergency room in Merheim and prefer to go to Holweide or Kalk.

(Translated by Google) Was already twice in the emergency room this year and twice very disappointing. Had the feeling that the assistant doctors do not really know what they are talking about. And always this back and forth. Operate today or maybe tomorrow and then after 6 days. Or first the transfer to a children's hospital was not recommended and all of a sudden it was better to be embarrassed. Total disappointment. Although we live in Brück we will never go back to the ER. We would rather take a longer route and be in better hands. LG

(Translated by Google) The staff is very poorly organized. A doctor has been assigned to the substitution who has not even seen, let alone read the medical record. That would be OK, only then was a completely wrong transfer to rehab written. We stood until the scheduled departure in the dark in terms of information sharing and whether the accompanying person is ever transported. It had to be corrected the complete "findings" in the rehab. A "demented, bedridden woman" was described as an "independent, mobile woman".

(Translated by Google) I was on station 5A for an arthrodesis of my OSG in September 2019. Except for the recording procedure, which took a few hours, I find nothing to complain about. The sisters at the station were very friendly and helpful. The doctors / surgeons and anesthesiologists have also done a great job. At any time I felt well looked after and professionally treated well. To the people who complain about the food, the long waiting times at the emergency room and unfriendly sisters and doctors: "As you call into the forest, it sounds like that!" It's been like that forever... What I noticed from the patient side to the sisters in a week was sometimes really outrageous. If you do not react quite so friendly, I can completely understand that. There are people who work there, voluntarily for a moderate to poor pay and shift work! It is a hospital and not a grand hotel. The food is not gourmet food, but it never tasted bad in the time of my stay! I can recommend the hospital with a clear conscience!

The worst hospital I've ever been to! Last night at 11:00 pm I arrived with acute pain in my stomach. The pain was so severe that it was difficult for me to breathe and speak, I was in tears from unbearable pain. My turn never came, and I could no longer sit and wait in the waiting room, as I sat there for about 3.5 hours and no one came to me. I will never come to this terrible hospital again in my life!

Before, during and after both operations and in the postoperative follow-up, I feel (s) in good hands with the nursing staff at Ward 4c, the stomatotherapist, the physiotherapist, the chief physician's secretary and the team led by Professor Heiss who looks after me. Just like the chief physician, his senior and assistant physicians always have an open ear and clear answers. They are all exceptionally friendly, empathetic, very committed and - just like in the operating theater - they are at the highest level. After both operations, I was quickly back on the "rising branch". If clinic - then this one! Many thanks to everyone! Herzlichen Dank an alle!

(Translated by Google) Nearby, spacious parking garage; if you park for a short time, it's even free. Friendly recording, but that takes quickly half a day until you're done with all the preliminary examinations, registrations, etc. Professional care, qualified doctors, good care. If it has to be, gladly again.

(Translated by Google) Sorry that you have a temperature of 39 degrees and have to go to the emergency room in the evening. Mega unfriendly carers, who gossip about everyone and treat you disrespectfully, disparagingly. You hang on the IV and then lie there for hours. Then you can hear that you are being kept waiting because that should be a lesson to you. Never again!!!

I'm writing this review in English as a warning to all English speakers who might think about using this hospital. My visit was a nightmare. The lady at the reception desk was not just unkind but also racist. It was clear they didn't respect me because I'm not German. On top of that, the hospital staff were lazy and made me wait a very long time. This experience made me think a lot about how Germany treats people from other countries. If this is common, then we might need to think about living in a place where we are treated with respect. I hope the people who run this hospital take this review seriously. They need to change their ways. If you're thinking about going to this hospital, especially if you're from another country, think twice. This is a sad situation.

If you ignore the obvious (emergency clinic is associated with waiting time), I was treated very well: I went to the emergency clinic after a sports injury. An MRI performed externally showed a fracture in the tibia bone. However, the on-site CT showed a different picture. The assistant doctor Dr. Wehrmann deserves special mention: He really explained to me in detail about the new findings and the associated therapy. Time was really taken and additional experts were consulted until all ambiguities and uncertainties were completely explained and resolved and I was able to leave the clinic without any questions and with a good feeling. I was treated very well by both the nursing and medical staff and can only give them full credit. I felt in good hands here.

I was not treated unkindly in the emergency room, in the consultation hours, on ward 4b or by the surgical team. After my first operation, sister Lynn (unfortunately she is no longer in Merheim but thank you Lynn for everything back then, you really made the 17 days bearable) tried to get me something to eat because the food I ordered wasn't vegan the other days But then I always got something vegan to eat, which was always very tasty. The doctors always discussed the next steps with me in great detail and explained them as clearly as they could. Thanks also to the patient escort service and the service staff and to my favorite cleaning lady you are doing a great job ♥️ For me, Merheim is the best hospital I've ever been to, unfortunately it's too far away but if I get burned again I'll come back
