For sure it depends from the seasons and day but during my stay the price was really good and cheap for the expectation! It was just more than perfect! I knew check in was from 15:00 so I didn't want to waste time and take the risk. I started to go around the city ending up to go to the hotel only in the evening. Check in was quick, the key wasn't working at first but no drama! Informal place but really nice, polite employees. Little bar next the reception both open 24/7. Big breakfast area that I didn't use. Small room but simple and great heating system! Toilet really clean and nice! Doors make some noise and you can hear people walking in the hallway. I was tired so I didn't mind, fell asleep quick and I didn't hear anything! I had plans on my way and from the hotel the next day so in my case I would have reached the hotel by foot and even if it was only for a night, it was well located. Just outside the city center. Bus and tram and metro running just outside the hotel anyway.

For 165 euros a night I expect a clean and usable mattress. Blood and urine stains, some kind of pellets (insect eggs?) were all visible on the mattress. Really disgusting. I normally book by my employer, so nothing like this has ever happened to me. Private bookings don't seem to be important to the hotel owner. Furthermore, both mattresses were totally curved inwards. I've stayed at Ibis in Den Hague before. I didn't have any problems there. But the in Cologne was a disaster and ruined my stay.

Clean room but quite small and noisy. The location was not the best, a bit scary at night and dirty. The bed was average, they really like to knock on your door to clean your room very early in the morning, despite saying it's not necessary... It was okay for a night, but you should find another place if you're planning to stay longer 😀

Just a basic hotel with minimum service its like a hostel nothing more than that first 24 hours room lock wasn't working have to bring someone from reception every time we went out which was more annoying than anything else finally next day evening they changed our room. lost my necklace in room n apparently room service and reception new nothing about it .

A classic ibis hotel, nothing special, nothing fancy. Rooms are kind of small, much smaller than in other ibis hotels I stayed before. Not cheap at all for a ibis hotel. Staff is very nice and ready to help you. Breakfast was decent, with a good variety of food. It’s clean, rooms are clean, bathrooms also, beds are confy. Location is also ok, kind of 20 minutes to Dom.

I'm a big fan of Accor hotels, but this hotel made me sad. The rooms are extremely small. The bathroom is so small, I could barely move. Breakfast was ok. Friendly reception. They should consider changing this location to an Ibis Budget with lower prices. There are plenty of other hotels in Cologne that have a better price/quality match.

Good Place to stay on the outskirts of the city center. Travel is not so easy if u have a kid with a stroller(due to the fact that sometimes lifts don't work in the stations). Hotel itself was ok, not so big rooms but they have innovative shelfs to keep things. Extremely kind staff, always willing and happy to help. Options are limited in breakfast but really delicious breads and Croissants.

Nice clean rooms but very small. The staff are very helpful and friendly. If you are staying for a couple of days it is fab but any longer and the room plus the lack of wardrobes is a real problem. The hotel is obviously geared more towards business travel as opposed to tourists. They should maybe state this more clearly.

Rooms were too small. The beds uncomfortable. And we paid 170 for 2 persons. In the morning around 10 the cleaning lady just opened the door without knocking or saying something first. Was very uncomfortable. The AC was good. The receptionists are friendly. The locacation is good. A tram station is close.

There was no wardrobe in the rooms. There was no kettle for hot water. The rooms are very small. Sinks could have been cleaner.

Very nice staff! I’d say this is the biggest plus of this place. Otherwise it is just a basic hotel but people working here are very polite and helpful. Great!

The room is terribly small, really too small for 1 person let alone for two. Its not dirty, but not ultra clean either. The staff do what they have to do and are friendly. The beds are fine. I wouldn't come back here again unless there is no other place to sleep in Cologne.

Pretty bad experience. I called before the stay to request the cost of adding a dog to our room. They said "Free" on the phone. I checked 2 times and they insisted there is no additional cost but of course I ended up paying 24 euros for the dog too. Very cheap but don't understand why I was lied to on the phone. During our stay (3 days) there was constant drilling near our room up until 6 PM. Of course, no one warned us and when we asked the hotel desk about how long this is going to take (after the first day) they lied to use again and said there will be no more drilling, but we got some more the following 2 days (including Saturday before checkout). At the end of the stay, no one asked me how my stay was, they just rushed me to pay for the parking. I'm afraid I can't recommend the staff.

Room::Standard Room Pros 😃 Standard ibis concepts 😃 Decent breakfast 😃 Public transport options (Barbarossaplatz) very near.😃 Can reach central station / Dom in 5 - 10 mins by car 😃 Lot of supermarkets, restaurants and Cafe's in near vicinity. Cons 😑 Rooms felt to be small when compared with other ibis hotels (eg: Vienna) 😑 Bathroom was also small but it was manageable 😑 The keycards did not work for me 2 times. Need to go to the lobby from 5th floor two times.

This one is a solid and nice Hotel, clean room (we stayed 5th floor), a bit loud from neighbors, but was no problem to sleep. The rooms are quite small, but equipped with TV, enough sockets, lights and also the bathroom was clean and good. The reception was quick and easy. The breakfast is recommended, a variety of cheese, fresh buns and a waffle maker!

The room feels claustrophobic, hardly cleaned, soap containers empty (where is the service?) , big TV set not working. Bad value for money.

Overall great. Dogs are allowed, they provide a baby bed for free if needed. Parking (can't book a spot) is 15€ a day. Easy access to all Christmas market by tram or walk. Some fast food and restaurants very close by, some stores. Service is very good 👍. We would go back another night to do the Christmas markets again! Room for baby + dog was very small and at the end of the building, it's not a complain, I think it's to avoid disturbing everyone with a "noise risk" room..

The rooms were small for a family of 3 people..the washrooms were very small.. Else the people at the reception were very friendly and approachable. The breakfast is charged on upper side for the items they provide. The location is just 1km walking distance from the famous cologne cathedral

Easy to find by public transport, a bit of a walk from the centre but for the able bodies manageable. Nice staff, clean rooms. Not the best in terms of amenities, but it is a budget hotel. Breakfast was a bit pricy, and the waffle station was gone.

The AC wasn’t working during some very hot summer days, even when turned to the lowest temperature. It would cool for a few minutes and then never again on the same day. I can’t sleep well if it’s too hot, so the purpose of having a hotel was somewhat defeated by this factor 🥵 🛌 👎🏻 The hotel staff was friendly and fast. The rooms were clean and kept well. Small, but not bad for the price you’re paying especially if you’re there to sleep. Just make sure you test your AC or whatever is important to you in the room sooner than later before you’re stuck with it if it’s a busy season like Gamescom or Oktoberfest.

Very comfortable room with all the necessary commodities. Only complaint would have been that it’s not located in the liveliest part of town.

The room is very small for 2 people. The walls are paper thin can here all the noise from the other rooms and hallways. We stayed in room 320 right beside the stairway entrance and could hear the door opening and closing all night long. There were people screaming in the hallway in the middle of the night. Someone would play a portable speaker every morning at 4:00am during our stay. I would rather pay a little more and stay somewhere else. The staff are nonexistent.

I was amazed by the friendliness of the staff and how cheap it was with member card. Room as one might know is always constructed and architected in such a way that each furniture has a function and how clever they were to save so many unnecessary costs to provide affordable stay. All in all a good experience.

Room was small but clean. For a short trip in cologne completely fine. Parking garage quite small. What was a bit annoying that in the morning the cleaning persons were already knocking at the door for getting access cleaning the room. In addition to that they were talking quite noisy in the hall. Anyway they were very friendly, also the persons at the Reception.

Nice Location, nearby the metro Station, very good breakfast clean room... The shower- WC is Tiny and there is only one towel per client... Really polite and helpful staff

Very convenient hotel with an excellent breakfast. We were traveling with one of us in a wheelchair. While the bathroom was very accessible, the room was a bit too small, and the room door was hard to open for a person in a wheelchair. The hotel itself is located at 30 mins walking distance from the old city centre, but a metro stop (Barbarossa Platz) is very close. There is a supermarket and a variety of restaurants around the corner.

Good location only a cpuple of tram stops from the centre of Köln and the Dom. Rooms are on the small side but did the job. Staff friendly.

A simple hotel in a good area with plenty of bars and restaurants. Close to the team stop a bonus. Downside is the small bedroom but worse is the cramped bathroom :(

Realy nice hotel located in the downtown of Cologne, Germany, where within a short distance one may reach variety of very nice restaurants and shopping malls. Nice and friendly staff at the hotel reception🏨, and what surprised me in a very positive way, well English speaking personnel 🇬🇧😎👍🏻, that is not a standard in Germany.🤪 Hotel rooms are rather tiny ones, and in my opinion a bit too tight. Especially a bathroom might be a big challenge for some big guys!🤪 Breakfasts are rather typical European standard with variety of ham, cheese, fresh baked rolls, tomatoes, scrambled eggs with bacon, coffee and tea, etc.🥐🥖🧀🥓🥚🍅☕🍵😋👍🏻 Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the hotel service and the room. I can recommend it if one would like to stay close to the very core and heartbeat of Cologne and would want to pay a reasonable price. 🇩🇪😎👍🏻

Perfect hotel for a little 4 day getaway. Room was as expected for a hotel of this star rating and price, close to train link into city centre (also only 20 mins walk away), supermarket nearby and friendly staff. Beds were comfortable and clean, plenty of room for me and a friend! Would definitely come back.
