Very beautiful place, good view down to the Rhine river. But walking up to the ruins of an old castle requires some healthy legs and endurance. Not suited for wheelchairs.

Eerie ruins on a misty day. Easy walk up, through bare forest, loads of dry leaves. Amazing that all these walls are still standing after so many years!

You will get rewarded for hiking all the way to the ruin. If someone in the review have said that from parking to the top takes about 3 km, then I would have skipped it. But it is doable even with a four year old child.

Nice walk up the hill. Beautifull old forest. The ruin of the Löwenburg on top of the hill has been kept as authentic as possible. I consider that a big plus!

Even though it's now in ruins, it's majestic past can easily be imagined as it sits atop the highest peak in the area, overlooking the Rhine and city in valley below. Beautiful hike up there too, an absolute recommendation.

Beautiful views. The climb is a bit steep towards the end but totally worth it! It’s very windy up there, so do pack a cap along.

Ruins of the 13th century Löwenburg. Excellent destination for hiking in the Siebengebirge. You get a good impression how the castle looked in medieval ages. There some plates showing the different development stages through the centuries. You also get an excellent 360 degree overview over the Siebengebirge. If the weather permits one can see the Cologne Cathedral and all the way to Belgium.

Beautiful panorama and a relaxing mostly tourist free walk makes this a wonderful place to hike to!

Really nice hike up and a gorgeous 360 view from the top. Especially at night this is a amazing place to be. Only thing to be aware and of is that it can get quite windy at the peak and the wind chill is pretty rough.

Super nice walk, takes about an hour to reach the top if you're walking. As most of the path is under the trees, the air feels nice and you're protected from the sun while also enjoying the nice weather. Keep in mind that if you're taking your dog with you, they need to be on a leash. Bring water and food for the hike, as there are no shops/dispensers on the path. Near the top there's a restaurant but I didn't visit.

It is an awesome place! You can get an amazing view from the top of the hill. But be careful, to get there it is very exhausting

My favorite castle in this area. Good to link the journey down via Tretsbachtal path which is simply delightful.
