Nice
station
area
for
the
scenic
Kolblenz
railway
station.
The
pedestrian
zone
to
the
left
of
the
main
entrance
is
blocked
for
automobile
traffic,
but
otherwise
mobility
is
not
a
big
issue.
Lots
of
nearby
places
for
food
and
beverages
as
are
a
few
hotels
and
the
river
is
within
walking
distance
to
the
main
station.
The
station
has
elevators
on
the
north
side
of
the
terminal
for
easy
access
to
each
platform.
Remarkably
good
for
a
DB
station,
these
lifts
did
not
smell
of
dirt
and
urine.
Station
departure
times
are
visible
in
the
main
entrance
hallway
as
are
a
number
of
fast
food
stands.
Allow
enough
time
to
get
into
the
station
and
back
to
the
various
platforms
as
rush
hour
times
tend
to
fill
up
and
slow
one
down.
Be
sure
to
have
a
ticket
ahead
of
time
if
possible.
Automated
ticket
machines
are
not
as
plentiful
here
as
elsewhere
on
the
national
rail
network.
North
or
South
from
here
along
the
Rhein
is
lovely
for
splendid
castles
and
winerys
as
is
heading
to
the
Mosel
(Cochem/Trier).
Rail
connections
to
these
easily
depart
from
this
railway
station.
