This is an average station which needs more improvement because lots of tourists are coming nowadays. Most of the platforms are not having elevators. So if you have big or medium size luggage with you then that will be a problem. You have to carry your luggage using the steps. There is a big display board (LED screen) at the entrance of the station with the train information which is very useful. There are some shops to buy and restaurants to eat within the station. DB information center/Ticket counter is also there near the entrance.

There are no big departure boards here, the information is presented in big, tiny text, hard to read tables on the wall. Otherwise adequate station, well appointed book shop and small eateries.

My train was only 5 minutes late, and it arrived on platform 1, the only platform with construction. The train was scheduled to go back to Frankfurt a short time later. Guess what happened. Since trains are very crowded these days with the 9 Euro tickets, many people tried to get off and on the train which resulted in complete chaos. No escalators, no lift. I missed my connection, although I had 20 minutes to catch it. Why they couldn't have chosen a different platform was a mystery.

The first train was delayed but the office staff was really helpful in finding the alternative connection. It is here, on this trip, I remember that one needs euros to go to toilet in Germany.

Nice station area for the scenic Kolblenz railway station. The pedestrian zone to the left of the main entrance is blocked for automobile traffic, but otherwise mobility is not a big issue. Lots of nearby places for food and beverages as are a few hotels and the river is within walking distance to the main station. The station has elevators on the north side of the terminal for easy access to each platform. Remarkably good for a DB station, these lifts did not smell of dirt and urine. Station departure times are visible in the main entrance hallway as are a number of fast food stands. Allow enough time to get into the station and back to the various platforms as rush hour times tend to fill up and slow one down. Be sure to have a ticket ahead of time if possible. Automated ticket machines are not as plentiful here as elsewhere on the national rail network. North or South from here along the Rhein is lovely for splendid castles and winerys as is heading to the Mosel (Cochem/Trier). Rail connections to these easily depart from this railway station.

Koblenz Hbf is a middle of facilities and average environment of Germany. However it can be better if you can take Express trains.

Crowded but the RR crew did their best to make the situation as good as possible.

Very pleasant experience overall. Good restaurants and plenty of taxis available.

Horrible station. Barely any seating, so expect to wait standing around in awkward places. And you will spend a lot of time waiting, thanks to the many delays. Access to platform 1 is a life-threatening hazard that should be inspected, and whoever approved it should be criminally prosecuted.

Needed to take a train that was supposed to be split later, but it didn't say that and only the other destination was indicated on the train. Stood in front of that train for over ten minutes in the cold until it started to leave. In THAT MOMENT for the FIRST AND ONLY TIME, they explain through the PA that it will split later and actually go on to my destination. Now I'm spending another hour in this place with barely any seats, terrible food options, no heating, and a pervasive stench of piss. Horrible experience even by German train (station) standards.

It has 11 tracks/platform, so better to read the signs posted everywhere to know where your train is departing from, google maps doesn’t help in that

Nice connection point. Also good number of restaurants inside and close to hbf. Good bus connection from hbf to city.

It's not really a nice train station, it's small and there is nothing nice to see close to it. The only good things in it are the Macdonald's and the small food shop. But if you arrive after they've closed, there is nothing to do.

If you want to miss your bus while in transit make sure you pass by this station. The personnel you'll be talking to will send you in front without further instructions. Good luck then to find your bus.
