Interesting monument in nice little park commemorating famous Berlin siege when Soviets closed western part. They were expecting to starve them but, unlike German 6th army in Stalingrad where that idiot Hermann Goering promised miracles similar to ones about protecting Germany from bomb raids, Allies were able to deliver enough provisions by flying over 200k sorties in one year. Soviets had to lift siege as airplanes were delivering more provisions compared with trains before the siege. One of first victories of West during Cold War. And along with pictures of park and monument I will present here some other places around park and particularly some nice graffiti.

A post WW2 memorial dedicated to extensive airlift operation carried out by Western allies. It is in front of Tempelhof airport at a junction. The airport itself is closed now. This place is not so much on tourist map. I saw it while visiting old airport runway for walking and running.

Eine wirklich schöne Anlage. Saisonal immer frisch bepflanzt. Mehrere Bänke in der Sonne und im Schatten zum verweilen. Die Anlage an sich liegt in der Sonne. Immer wenn ich hier war, war sie gut gepflegt und sauber.

Insgesamt halte ich das Luftbrückendenkmal für eine sehr gelungene Gedenkstätte, die sowohl ästhetisch ansprechend als auch pädagogisch wertvoll ist. Es ist ein wichtiger Teil der Berliner Geschichte und ein Symbol der Freiheit und Solidarität.

I stop here to reflect on all that has happened.

Geschichte. Mir macht es Gänsehaut, die Vorstellung. Aber unglaublich, was die Einwohner zusammen mit der Politik geschafft haben. Hoffen wir, dass es immer wieder in anderen Zusammenhängen anderen helfen wird ähnliche Situationen zu meistern. Gerade in diesen Zeiten ist es so wichtig solche Denkmäler zu haben.

This monument is on the approach to Templehof Airport so worth walking over to if you are going on the tour. It’s theme is the path of a plane in the air.

Das Betonmonument zeigt in konstruktiv-abstrahierender Form den Ansatz eines Brückenbogens. Die drei herausragenden Rippen stehen dabei symbolisch für die Luftkorridore zwischen den drei Start- und den drei Zielflughäfen in Berlin und in den westdeutschen Zonen, nämlich in Berlin Tempelhof, Gatow und Tegel, im Westen Deutschlands Flughäfen in Frankfurt am Main, Hannover und Hamburg. Das aus grau gefasstem Stahlbeton gegossene obere Element des Luftbrückenmonuments steht auf einem etwa 42 cm hohen, halbrunden Sockel aus Beton und Travertin, dessen nach unten leicht abgeschrägte, gewölbte und nach Süden weisende Außenkante durch ein aufgesetztes, etwa 32 cm hohes Bronzeband betont wird, das die in erhabenen Lettern gegossene Inschrift trägt. Go visit when you explore the whole area, don't come just for the monument. The old airport Tempelhof turned inner city park is worth a visit anytime, and when you're going there, check the monument, too.

Really nice park with lots roses and benches to sit and admire the view or just relax after a tough day.

Ein schlichtes, modernes Denkmal zur Erinnerung an eine Hilfe durch welche durch eine moderne Belagerung organisiert wurde. Die Luftbrücke ersparte vielen Menschen ein unnötiges Leid.

Really quite disgusting park. Filthy. With this somewhat ugly sculpture. Area worth exploring for it’s historic Weimar era housing.

Interesting memorial for history buffs. I remember seeing the memorial on a US postage stamp and then reading about it. The airlift really was an amazing feat. I can't imagine governments being that reactive and efficient today unfortunately.

Ein schlichtes Denkmal das an die Zeit der Berliner Blockade erinnern soll. Das Denkmal ist in eine Grünanlage eingebettet. Sitzmöglichkeiten sind auch vorhanden. Das Denkmal ist fußläufig vom U Bahnhof Platz der Luftbrücke erreichbar. Tickets müssen für die Besichtigung nicht gekauft werden. Das Denkmal und die Grünanlage sind sehr gepflegt.

The monument of historical significance is neither imaginative or impressive. It is located in a maintained park, but has no pedestrian lighting at night.

Das Luftbrückendenkmal in Berlin-Tempelhof ist unweit gelegen der U-Bahn Station Platz der Luftbrücke. Ein Ort von großer historischer Bedeutung. Ein solches Denkmal gibt es auch in Frankfurt am Main sowie in Celle. Wenn man schon mal dort ist, ist nur rund 10 bis 15 Minuten fußläufig das Tempelhofer Feld entfernt.

Extremely nice location for food and view. Not expensive on pocket at all. Flowing river with mix of nice view of passing boat ridders is very appealing.

not so much people here, I love this park to relax
