Cloud 9 Kalimpong is a perfect destination for you to explore authentic Nepali cuisine. The picturesque background and open-air seating aggravated the appetite. We started with an appetiser, Chicken Momocha. Minced chicken dumpling mixed with Nepalese masala and dunked in a jhol, paste of roasted sesame and soya seeds mixed with tomato gravy and spiked with onion, garlic and ginger. The momo skin could have been thinner otherwise, and a new kind of jhol momo taste experience. Nepali Pork Thali was the main attraction, with corn rice, daal, ghee, veggies, dahi and dalle pickle. Veggies were deep-fried bitter gourd, chola mattar, radish with churpi, aloo dum, ningro, pumpkin and fermented mustard greens. The pork trotters cooked in Himalayan spices have a soft and chewy texture. The pork curry flavour was subtle, but the traces of crushed bone in the gravy were a bit disappointing. We had an add-on of slow-cooked mutton curry in aromatic spices with the thali. What a lovely taste of the mutton gravy, but the meat was a bit tough to my preference.

We went there for dinner. A must visit if you want to try out Nepali fare. The service is excellent and they only recommended their good dishes. Try out the Nepali thali, barbeque pork, and beef sukuti. The beef sukuti is just awesome.

Outstandingly authentic Nepali restaurant providing absolutely the best food. The menu is exquisite, the service is awesome & the restaurant manager explains every food available there. We tried Choila (desi chicken dish), Buff Sukuti (Buffalo) & Pork & chicken thalis. Thalis included Fermented raddish with Chhurpi (smoked fermented Ricotta), Chickpeas with Filunge, Gatta (ripe pumpkin), Fiddlehead Fern, Nepali Alu Dum, Fried Bitter gourds, Fermented soybean, Masco Dal (kind of black tadka daal), Desi chicken curry , Farm-bred pork curry, Dahi & Kheer. Every item was delicious, especially the slow cooker pork curry which was very much soft, tender, juicy & succulent. The buff Sukuti was spicy & perfect for a cold day. The prices were reasonable to the food quality. I would highly recommend having lunch here.

Good authentic Nepali food. The meat was so tender and the food I tried there were so flavorful. We had Himali dhido (ragi mudde that we call in South India), Kahsi ko masu that had very tender chopped mutton pieces. They don't have a big menu but the options available are good enough to try. I guess it is a women lead place and the people there were really kind and pleasant to talk to. The location of the place is just perfect for everyone.

This place cloud 9 is a restaurant where you get typical nepali dish or nepali thali and it is bit outside the town and it's nice and quiet place.

Loved the traditional choices here. Waiting for 15mins just to get a spoon at the outdoor seating area. Please hire some energetic, professional and presentable staffs considering the amount you are charging for the portions.
