We held our wedding ceremony and reception on the grounds and it was an absolute dream. We wanted something unique and authentic and this gorgeous place offered the most perfect place to host our guests. It will forever hold a special place in our hearts!

Beautiful grounds! You are allowed to walk around, maybe have a picnic. Yes, there is a bathroom during business hours.

The art center is a wonderful part of the Upcountry community and offers more than just classes. They host unique events throughout the year, to bring awareness and enjoyment to the general public. For example, the recent Forest Bathing Green Walks with Phyllis Look that introduced this natural practice here on Maui. The Hui No’eau is a treasured resource for us all.

The Hui is located in a beautiful historic plantation estate home that has been restored to house some of the works of Maui’s best known artists teaching workshops and classes. The gift shop serves as the hub for creative artwork has great local pieces. A trip to the Hui is always worth it. The grounds also contain studios and print making shops for local artists to work and take classes with well-known artists.

Beautiful and inspirational! Please visit and support this arts center in Upcountry. The gallery, grounds and history are a fantastic experience. This is 50 minutes away from Kaanapali and a very quick drive. Great information from Sharona, who is lovely. Check online for many art classes. Enjoy!

This is a wonderful upcountry spot to peruse local art & visit artist studios (when they’re open). The gallery & grounds are free but they do ask for donations. The mural room in the main house and the 2 giant Monkeypod trees up front were our favorite spots. Sitting under the trees and admiring the views was an exceptional upcountry experience. It would be a lovely spot for a quiet picnic.

All the art work on display was done by extremely creative locals. The setting of the Art Center is exquisite . I really enjoyed my time while looking at the art display, and the gift shop had a large selection of all types of arts and crafts,of which most, if not all , was made by the locals. I've been back a few times now and there is always a new art show to enjoy. The staff is very courteous , friendly and helpful when briefing me on the current display and answer any questions I may have. I think my next trip to the Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center will include art lessons. Who knows, I may discover a hidden 'art' talent, and at the very least , I'll meet some new friends.
