    Pomnik Książki upamiętnia barbarzyństwo hitlerowców, czyli zatopienie podczas II wojny światowej tysięcy książek z polskich i żydowskich bibliotek. Mówi o tym napis na pomniku: "Tu w zasypanym korycie rzeki Prosny hitlerowcy zniszczyli dziesiątki tysięcy książek ze zbiorów kaliskich bibliotek publicznych". Został odsłonięty 11 maja 1978 roku. Jego pomysłodawcą jest kaliski grafik Władysław Kościelniak, zaś wykonał go rzeźbiarz Jerzy Sobociński.
