This is a great Swedish Hotel. They have just set up a gym with all new Techno gym equipment. The evening meal is great. Highly recommend this place if you are travelling to Kalmar.

Good location, friendly staff. Nice apple crumble for afternoon tea.

The hotel itself is nice, but I suspect they are running a scam along with the adjacent parking lot. Despite paying for parking, the parking company gave us a ticket and the front desk staff tried to scare me into not appealing the ticket. I appealed and they refused the appeal on semantic grounds, likely knowing I'm a foreigner and it would be a bigger pain to make a legal complaint. Not expected from a well-regarded hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at Clarion Collection Packhuset in Kalmar. The highlight of my experience was the charming room I received, complete with a private terrace overlooking the picturesque harbour. Waking up to that view was a delight. The breakfast spread was impressive, offering a wide variety of options to suit every palate. It provided a perfect start to the day. One of the standout features of this hotel was the inclusion of afternoon tea, featuring freshly baked items and a selection of coffee and tea. Additionally, the dinner buffet exceeded my expectations, with two hot dishes, soup, and a generous salad bar. This added value made my stay even more enjoyable. Lastly, the staff at Clarion Collection Packhuset were exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. Their hospitality truly made a difference. Overall, my experience at Clarion Collection Packhuset in Kalmar was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in this charming coastal town.

This hotel left a lot to be desired. The cleanliness was appalling; it seemed like the concept of hygiene had abandoned the premises long ago. The entire place was in desperate need of a total refurbishment. The showers were so disgustingly dirty that attempting to use them felt like a health hazard. I strongly advise avoiding this establishment unless you have a fondness for filth.

Incredible hotel located in the quaint town of Kalmar. Right by the water; with spectacular views when the weather is good. Breakfast is also amazing!

Good location, close to city center and good tourist spots as well as transport links and a good chance of waterfront view as the hotel is located on the harbour. Breakfast, afternoon fika and dinner included in a reasonable price, everything buffet style - great wine deal for 3 decent glasses for 195 kronor for the wine lovers. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere with hotel decor making good use of the old beams from previous building uses. The buffet food could also be taken to your room for those wanting a more private experience, the food was above average and eat as much as you want. Room booked was a moderate double room which is the cheapest option available. Room is quite small but has all the basics, aside from hot drink making facilities in the room which are available in the restaurant area. The main issue during the stay was that although comfortable the tiny size of bed which was around 120cms in width, for a double, left the sleeping arrangements a little bit beyond "cozy" especially for the star fish impersonators among us. The pillows provided also were somewhat confusing with a selection of 3 wildly varying sizes to choose from. From a size large enough to call a small bean bag chair, to one medium and the last basically being a throw pillow for a sofa. TV, as with most hotels, could do with wireless display or some smart app functionalities. The clock was still set to Summertime from last year and some holes noticied in fabric of the curtains. Also one of the bedside lamps had not even a switch to turn it on. The bathroom was modern generally with a nice shower in terms of temperature and pressure. The lights took a while to turn on and also flickered a lot at the start, potentially a risk to epileptics. The toilet roll was place so far back behind the normal seating position you also had to particpate in some minor yoga poses to wipe your behind. Overall a good bathroom experience, minus the bath due to a shower being the only option in the Moderate double room. Overall a nice hotel at a fair price with the only aspect I would say against is needing an extra 20 or 30 cms on the size of beds and some more normal pillows.

This hotel is wonderfully placed with great view over the water and must be a fantastic stay in the summer. Good service with friendly and welcoming staff. Cozy theme of the hotel which was also present in the rooms with really old wood details. Breakfast has everything you can ask for. Only thing to complain about is the room temperature which was very cold now in autumn moving into winter. I would recommend this hotel.

The position was perfect the staff very helpful. The room was cosy with a nice view..but...it was a bit dusty and the ventilation system startede to make noise at 07 in the morning..not what you need when you are on vacation and can sleep longer

Lovely hotel and staff. Unfortunately we got there when it was a bit colder outside and the room was really cold, especially the floors. Couldn't get the heat up and the radiator never got warm. No floor heating in the bathroom so the tiles were really cold. Would go back during summer though.

This is an ok hotel. The atmosphere and surroundings is perfect for a nice weekend. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful. Everything worked perfect. A bed for the teenager were setup and the crib for the baby worked perfectly. A big plus for the collection hotels are the dinner included in the price. Perfect when you arrive and just want to eat.

Undoubtedly, the strong points for this hotel is the location and the breakfast. Free parking available, limited Wi Fi. We had a late check in and found only one set of towels in our double room. The staff took nearly 1 hour to bring the extras, using the excuse that the housekeeping had gone home. No real bar facilities, but the night porter was able bring us a late nightcap. We would use again, but only on discounted special price offers.

Everything was fine but not up to standards. Poor sound isolation with door closings and high heels heard above the constant background sound of water rushing through the pipes (radiators). The hotel was likely not half full but we we're assigned a room with a poor view. Only one set of towels for a reservation for two. Empty black dispenser mounts aside the sink and shower. A big chink in the enamel of a nice big tub without sound insulation very noisy to fill. The vinyl seal at the bottom of the pivoting shower glass was long past due for replacement. No spa experience here. Bathroom cubicle with high glass transoms above partition walls/closets, but with a 20cm gap to accommodate the fire sprinkler piping but also permitted zero sound isolation between the bathroom and the bedroom. A clunker TV interrupted the small room - it should been replaced with a flat screen five years ago. And my bed creaked. It is a nice hotel that has forgotten to be a good host (did I mention the carpet remnants, pails and smell of carpet adhesive beside the elevator entrance on the first floor).

We stayed for two nights on the upper most floor. The WiFi is great, the TV has exposed hdmi connections for your chrome cast needs. The ventilation was a tad noisy if you are sensitive to that. But we didn't hear a sound from other guests. The breakfast can be enjoyed outdoors, and has the usual assortment of good breads, scrambled eggs, sausage, yoghurt and a "make your own Belgian waffle" station. In addition there was fresh fruit and an assortment of beverages, hot and cold. We had a slight issue with the housekeeping of our room. We informed the front desk of our displeasure and the situation was quickly remedied to our satisfaction. The staff was nothing but professional. An added benefit is the location of the hotel. Not only is there the option for a view of the sea, but you are also next to the city centre. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay and if we are every in these parts again, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed for 2 nights for business. Rooms are great anf the staff was more than friendly. Loved the breakfast buffet.. The bar is also very good, with a large selection of beer and wine. If i visit Kalmar again, this is were I'm going to stay.

This place was much better than the pictures showed. The hallways had a ship-like feeling with white and old rustic wooden beams at an angle with brass lights outside each door. The room was small but completely adequate. We had a view of the harbor to wake up to and the breakfast was amazing with both American and continental options. We would definitely come one back!

The hotel was nice, close to the train station, has a nice view, staffs were kind and very helpful, food was fantastic (we took breakfast and dinner inclusive). But in my point of view there are some cons added to the pros. Few of them are, 1. Very small rooms it was very cramped (at least in the room I was staying, it had a sea view, 2nd floor) 2. bedspreads, pillows and quilt didn’t smell fresh (it looked ironed, clean and white but the smell was bad) 3.sun block curtains could have been better(they didn’t serve their purpose 100%, would have been better with one more piece/layer )
