This is one of the favorite tourist spots here in Tokyo. You can see the lake view, shrine and temples here. Well actually the place is quiet better if it is spring time because the whole park is surrounded with all the cherry blossom trees. This is a must see place

A big public park with many free things to see throughout the greens along the various walking paths including fountains, temples, shrines, statues, stalls and food stalls at certain times, and other attractions around.  It gets quite busy as a popular attraction. Around the park are various paid attractions such as museums that you can also visit.  Overall, it makes for a nice day out.

It's a public park you'll end up walking through to see the zoo or national museum. I. QUALITY Well maintained, especially with the heavy amount of foot traffic that goes in and out. We enjoyed the massive water lilies. II. CAPACITY Very busy. The line for the zoo was overwhelming, but we noticed the line over by the lily pads to enter was nearly empty *hint hint*

I spent a lot of time here just soaking in the nature. I write this in late November, and although I didn't get to see the cherry blossoms in bloom, I did see the Ginkgo trees going green to yellow. If you watch these trees as the sunset starts you would see them look like shining gold. I happened to catch a Ninja Fest event by accident, there was some really cool stage entertainment and food stands (cash only). Plus the Tokyo National Museum is here and a zoo, so you could literally spend days at this single park.

An absolutely lovely park!!! Highly recommend visiting the location, in a convenient spot adjacent to the station! The ginkgo and maple trees throughout the park were thriving amongst the beautiful vegetation. I enjoyed gazing upon the fountain and other features of the park, including the various shrine areas. There were many maps guiding you through the complex system of paths around the area, highlighting key features, of which there were many.

Ueno park is a must , I suggest actually if you are a fan of art and history to consider picking your hotel nearby ! There are numerous museums including Tokyo national museum , western Art museum , Royal art museum , Ueno Tokyo zoo and many more museum and attractions including temples and gardens While visiting Tokyo they had a samurai festival with several musicians and dancers playing throughout the day and a wide range of street food options , malls are nearby as well ,

Purposely chose to stay near Ueno Park, so as to visit this beautiful place at anytime of the day especially, early in the morning, to avoid the crowd. A breathtaking atmosphere during cherry blossom with the many moments and scenes that were well cherished. Great temples / shrines, good restaurant and many attractions in the park. Fun to see, many people capturing the mood of Sakura and the picnics celebrated..

Great place to spend time with family or friends or just alone roaming around. There are a lot to see like shrine, museums, cherry tree, and a lot... Better to go there early morning in weekend, during daytime there is a decent amount of crowd. It feels refreshing to sit there by the ponds

What a pretty place especially when the sakura blossomed! We came on 25 March evening and there's quite a crowd here. The weather was super chilly due to the drizzle throughout the day (almost). There are some stalls at that area which sells hot food and it's definitely tempting but I didn't try. Definitely worth a visit here in spring!

The place is very spacious, comfortable for walking. Lots of big trees make the air fresh. It seems like it has entered autumn where some of the trees' leaves are starting to turn yellow. There is a zoo and some pretty nice museums to visit. At several points there are also places to pray. There are still many wild birds calling and flying.

Really lovely park. The grounds are extensive. We were lucky to see the samurai festival when we went. The park is surrounded by the zoo, museum, some shrines, shopping centres and a wonderful market.

One of the list that you can’t miss while you visit Tokyo, the park is huge in the city. There are many beautiful and important in here. During my visit I enjoyed seeing peony gardens, it was pretty with the flowers shape and colors, and it was set in Japanese garden. It’s calm environment with zen music style. After the garden there is a big fountain in front of the Japanese National museum. And also there are lotus pond on the south side of the park. This is the huge pond, and you can enjoy sailing the pedal boats.

As you enter Ueno Park, you'll stumble across a striking statue of a man and his dog, immortalized in bronze. This statue is of the legendary samurai Saigo Takamori, one of the most influential samurai in all of Japan. A man often dubbed as the 'last true samurai', the statue is an iconic Ueno landmark. Great place to relaxing and near by park has many food corner. The park has the feature with walking ample, lake with boats zoo and several mesuem.

Got a chance to walk by. Of course you can go into the park from any places. Amazing thing that they got kind of big Starbuck shop inside the territory and the normal cafe shop on the other side. Y'all also have the good access from the train station. You just have to look for the Park Exit "公園口" (if I remember correctly)of the station and you'll see the park straight ahead.

Very large park with plenty of things to do including museums and a zoo! We visited in April 2019 and they had lots of areas blocked off for people to sit, eat food, and enjoy the cherry blossoms. There were also plenty of food vendors, but I'm not sure if they're always there or were just there because of the season. There's a nice path you can walk through some cherry blossom trees right on the water were they also provide peddle boats for you to rent. We also saw a street performer with a monkey that put on a good show and the monkey seemed happy and we'll cared for.

Amazing park in the middle of Tokyo yet you feel really outside of the city -except for the buildings in the background. So many things to do and visit. Crazy spot during Sakura season obviously but it's to be seen and lives at least once. I lived the swans boat ride, had a lot of fun, it was very chill and quiet. In general it is a great place to escape the city life and take in a bit of nature while not having to ride the train for a few hours to be outside of Tokyo. Tokyo has SO many great parks and other spaces filled with nature while being in the city. It is not the same of course but if you don't have a lot of time it is still a great option. Plus let's be honest, these parks look absolutely amazing ✨

One of the best park to see Sakura, and it will be very crowded around that time. During the sakura season, you can see many people doing picnic in the park. This Park is pretty big as it has some temples and one of temple is dedicate to one of the famous "7 Lucky Gods." It also has the biggest Zoo in Tokyo where you enter for a fee. In the middle of the park there is a lake where you rent a paddle boat. Certain times there is a show (such as a monkey performance, etc) in the park or some flee market. Not to mentioned, they many some famous museums here such as the National Museum Nature and Science, etc, They also have a cozy Starbucks in the middle of the park. So there are quite things to see/explore in this park, therefor Ueno park is one of the famous park in Tokyo!

One of the biggest park in Tokyo to visit. Very close to Museums and the zoo with panda, this is a great place for picnic during the cherry blossom season (also at night!). You can see shrines and a nice pond as well. I like visiting also Ameyokocho, the casual street shopping area just a new walk away from this park.

Visited this beautiful park during Cherry Blossoms season. So beautiful indeed. Don't miss the season although I believe even outside of the season, the park is beautiful. The park is vast and clean. I really enjoyed my morning walk and stroll around the area as well. There are shrines, museums, and temples. So many beautiful photo spots as well. Many of the path are disability friendly as well. Happy to go back

Very easy to get to upon exit on any train stations. There's subway and JR rail access. The park is huge surrounded by museums you can explore. The national japanese museum is also here so you have plenty of things to explore during the day. Went here on winter time. Guessing its perfect time for spring with all cherry blossoms.

A must visit place in the heart of Tokyo prefecture. It's better if you plan a whole day to visit this place. The park itself is big enough, moreover there are several museum (Tokyo National museum, National Museum of nature and science, Tokyo metropolitan Art museum, Ueno Royal museum, University museum of Tokyo, Shitamachi museum), A zoo, two shrine (Gojoten Shrine and Toshogu shrine) and a big pond (Shinibaju pond) to visit nearby. It's killing several birds with one stone, that's for sure. Happy visiting. 🙂

A beautiful park with shrines, museums and a zoo (temporarily shut due to Covid 19). For me the best place is the pond area with a shrine on a central island. Very beautiful and sometimes you can get fried food from stands at the front (I recommend the squid). The cherry blossom s in March are stunning, but there are better places to go watch on account of the crowds and stench of stale beer.

Free park with many sakura trees in full bloom on March 30th. It was very crowded even during the weekday because of school children’s spring break. They had a green fence and rope preventing you from having a picnic in the park. It’s only for viewing and walking around because of Covid. Maybe visiting the shrine or going to the zoo would be some options.

FYI Weekends are incredibly crowded! The most people I had seen during my two-week visit to Tokyo. Thankfully I visited this park many times and had a number of enjoyable experiences sightseeing. Incredible location close to a hub of excellent Museums, a shrine I visited at night.. as much as I tried, I couldn't see it all. TIP: I ended up buying the Grutt Pass, but it turns out they sold a pass specific to Ueno park for their museums which would have been the much better deal. My online research did not turn that info up, but you'll see the park ticket station and posters a short walk from Ueno station. I returned here about three times and even caught a festival one day, could only manage about one museum per day. Wonderful gift shops.

Visited this park at 10pm and again at 11am the next day. Felt very safe there even late In the evening. Park is so clean and well maintained, just a few steps away from the train! It’s massive in size and a lot to see and do during the day. Would recommend 2-3 hours here. There’s a zoo, a lake to walk around or paddle boat on, restaurants, a couple temples/ shrines, massive water fountain, and a few museums. It’s beautiful here, I would highly recommend a visit. Or if you have time to waste, bring a blanket and snacks and read a book in the grass or on the seating around the fountain.

The Zoo was much more interesting than I initially thought. It makes a good afternoon of time pass. If you have more time there are a few museums nearby that can be visited along with the zoo. Ueno zoo has various species of animals, including polar bears and pandas! You can witness the zoo keepers feeding the polar bears, penguins, seals etc. It is a good zoo to spend time in. Ideal for families, dates and friends!

This park is a great place to go for a run or to see a little bit of nature. The pond is filled with waterfowl and the paths are great for running if you get creative with your routes (you could get in a few kilometers). It's a nice break from the typical city because it has far fewer intersections. The morning is the best time to go because there are far fewer people

Ueno Park is more crowded and more like a place that promotes Japanese culture. The park is connected to Ueno Zoo, Tokyo National Museum, National Science Museum and Western Art Museum. The park is free, I saw many group gatherings under the cherry trees along the road. I guess some of them may be the company gatherings. There is a market selling food and souvenirs in that area, there are also pretty girls in kimono in the park, you can take pictures with them.

(Translated by Google) The famous cherry blossom viewing spots will bloom around the end of March and early April. It is recommended that people traveling or those far away from Ueno can use the information on the Internet to check the blooming status, so as not to run all the way and have not opened or has been thanked Up. I heard that the cherry blossom season in previous years was crowded with people, and it took a place to enjoy the cherry blossoms. Everyone held a cherry blossom viewing party on the ground. However, in the first half of 2020, picnics on the roadside were banned due to the epidemic, and the crowds seemed less crowded. Basically, it is okay to stop and go, take a walk and take pictures while enjoying cherry blossoms, and it is rarely affected by the crowd. There are still some people sitting on the turf to rest and have a picnic. This should be a rare view of cherry blossoms in Ueno.

One of the most beautiful places in Tokyo. A huge, clean, wooded park, easily accessible (close to Ueno station and Uguisudani station), with temples, a lake and even a mini zoo. I felt very safe walking at any time of the day, including at night. At the time of the cherry trees everything is very beautiful, although the park is very crowded. Love it too much. Parque Ueno always in my memories.

Great place to relax and spend the afternoon walking around the park. Scenery is great as the trees provide good shade from the sun if needed. The trail is usually quite busy as a lot of people walk through it to get to the other side, but still a nice place to pass the time.

Oh to be here in autumn and spring when the blossoms are out. But today there were tulips and it was lovely. Large open area with plenty of space for kids to play. Strollers and wheelchair accessible. Fountains are stunning. Places to eat, sit and dine as well although it’s really just Starbucks. Located centrally near the Ueno Zoo which is also near Ueno Station. Easy to get to and navigate around.

This park is large with multiple museums and a zoo in it. People said that you must visit this park during spring especially when the cherry blossoms are bloom during March and April. However, in my opinion visiting this park during any season is also amazing. I’ve visited this park during winter and autumn and both has different experiences and still crowded.

Ueno Park is the destination of one of my regular walking routes, a few kilometres from home. It's a good place for viewing cherry blossom at the end of March, but the usual parties will not be allowed this year and one way walking routes enforced to reduce Covid-19 infection risks. There are several top grade museums in and around the park: personal favourites are the Museum of Western Art for its wonderfully eclectic collection and the Natural History and Science Museum where you can see a World War II Zero-sen fighter with its brilliant twin radial engine uncowled. It's next to JR, subway Hibiya and Ginza Line Ueno stations, and the southern tip of the park is literally on top of the Keisei Line Ueno terminus.

Ueno Park is too big of a complex that it would be crazy to rank it any less even if I haven’t seen all of it yet.XD There are many places to visit, from museums to shrines, to a zoo and of course park grounds. Famous as a spot for sakura in spring, but great for a visit anytime of the year as well, to omoimasu. Of course the museum exhibits have galleries that are regularly changed so there will be something new every time. I would say even a whole day is not enough to see everything that is found within the park grounds.XD

Ueno Park is a truly remarkable destination, even beyond the cherry blossom season. During our visit at the end of Spring, we were captivated by the park's abundant offerings. One of the best things about Ueno Park is its convenient accessibility by train, making it easily reachable for visitors. As we explored the park, we discovered a multitude of attractions. The Shinobazu no Ike Pond was a tranquil oasis that offered a serene atmosphere. We took the opportunity to visit the Shinobazunoike Benten-do, a beautiful temple located on the pond's shores. Its architecture and peaceful ambiance provided a sense of tranquility and spiritual reflection. Additionally, the Gojoten-jinja Shrine left us in awe with its historical significance and architectural grandeur. Another highlight of Ueno Park was the enchanting Shinobazuno Pond, which exuded natural beauty. We were delighted to find an ice cream vendor within the park, offering a delectable selection of flavors, including the unique Sakura flower flavor. The pleasant surprise of street performers playing music added to the park's vibrant atmosphere, creating an engaging and lively experience. What sets Ueno Park apart is its ability to offer a diverse range of attractions within a bustling city environment. It seamlessly combines the tranquility of nature with the vibrancy of urban life. The park's vast size and well-preserved green spaces create a refreshing escape from the urban hustle and bustle, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature. In conclusion, Ueno Park exceeded our expectations with its wealth of attractions and natural splendor. From picturesque ponds and serene temples to delightful street performers and delicious ice cream, the park truly offers something for everyone. Its location within a sprawling metropolis makes it a unique and treasured oasis. Whether you visit during cherry blossom season or any other time of the year, Ueno Park is a must-visit destination that showcases the harmonious blend of nature and culture.

Excellent park to go to for free (with a cheap zoo there too, loved that). There's lots of stuff to look at and lots of stuff nearby that's very cool too. It's right outside Ueno station so transport is easy as can be. Super sick place to spend a day in, given that it's not hotter than Ryan Reynolds outside...

Went to the museum and when it closed there was an event being hosted. Not speaking much Japanese we wandered through and found out it was a bunch of Japanese companies displaying their new renewable technologies like solar shingles, windmills, and even Toyota showcasing their new hydrogen car. Lots of light shows which was cool. All about energy. Park was huge and we could only explore a portion of it that day

It's a beautiful park with a nice walking route, and both Buddhist and Shinto shrines. The shrines and the pond are beautiful. The zoo is also located inside the park. I visited during the uenode panda mid autumn festival, which meant a lot of food and drinks stalls were raised, as well as a ton of idol groups performing. There were so many people, but it was a blast to see people enjoy the food and drinks while listening to these idol groups.

First time visiting the park here. It's pretty relaxing for walks or jogs, so it's definitely recommended. Besides that, there are many shrines within walking distance where you can pray.
