We
happened
upon
this
little
café
on
our
way
to
the
Kanmangafuchi
Abyss.
I
was
admiring
the
flowers
around
the
house
across
from
it
when
an
older
woman
came
out
towards
us.
She
asked
if
I
like
flowers,
and
when
I
said
yes,
she
brought
us
into
their
garden.
She
said
her
husband
had
planted
all
the
flowers
and
indicated
the
small
building.
Since
we
hadn't
tried
any
yuba
yet,
a
specialty
in
Nikko,
we
said
we'd
like
to
come
back
in
time
before
they
closed.
We
ended
up
taking
a
lot
of
photos
and
only
managed
to
rush
back
by
5,
which
is
normally
when
they'd
close.
We
were
disappointed
until
we
saw
the
older
man
was
waiting
for
us
from
down
the
street.
He
told
us
to
come
in
with
a
smile
and
get
comfortable.
We
each
ordered
some
yuba
and
a
ginger
tea
(one
hot,
one
cold).
The
view
facing
the
river
was
so
serene.
Even
though
they
were
meant
to
be
closed,
he
didn't
rush
us
at
all
and
instead
chatted
with
us
about
our
trip,
flowers,
and
how
they'd
opened
this
place
after
his
job
at
the
station
fell
through
during
covid.
He
said
he
doesn't
have
as
much
time
for
his
garden
now,
but
he
loves
his
job.
The
yuba
was
fantastic,
I
was
pleasantly
surprised,
and
the
ginger
tea
was
divine.
Probably
the
best
I've
had
in
my
time
here.
I
wish
we
could've
come
before
closing
so
that
we
could
have
spent
more
time
here.
I
already
wanted
to
visit
Nikko
again,
during
a
different
season,
but
now
I
know
I
will
come
back
so
I
can
eat
here
again.
If
I
could,
I'd
give
it
more
than
5
stars.
I
absolutely
recommend
stopping
by
for
a
spot
to
rest
your
feet,
have
a
tasty
bite,
and
enjoy
the
view.
