Came here because the rating was unusually high from 100s of reviews. First thought, small bar, maybe prices are cheap? But the real gem here is actually the owner/bartender who is very conversational and friendly. Gives recommendations on what to drink and tops up your bar snacks consistently. If you're looking for a cosy and friendly place to drink, you can't go wrong here. Thank you Satoshi san for the experience! We'll be back! Please get more Azul!

The owner Satoshi-san is the coolest guy I met on my trip to Japan, and his bar is always a great time. Definitely stop in if you can!

Bar flat is the perfect low key bar experience. It is small, with about 10 seats. The drinks are amazing (special shout-out to the Tokyo Mule and the gin gimlet) and the hospitality and friendliness of the bartender and owner is second to none. He seriously is the best! The bar was full and there was a good mix of super friendly locals and tourists. Great drinks, great conversations, and great music. A perfect Tokyo bar experience, thank you so much Bar Flat for a wonderful evening!

Lovely find for a cocktail after enjoying a comedy show at the Yamano Hall nearby. Quite newly opened with a fluent English speaking owner who is very hospitable and friendly. Enjoyed the drinks, ambiance and overall vibes! Thank you.

The BEST bar experience in Tokyo so far! Definitely recommended for high quality cocktails and a local neighborhood experience. Very special shout-out to the Moscow mule! A must try. Great cozy bar in Tokyo! The owner Satoshi is very friendly and welcoming. There’s a large variety of drinks and beers. You can even get some food. The bar was lively and everyone was friendly and having fun. Perfect spot to have a relaxing and fun time.

Very small hole in the wall place with interesting wall decor. Very small selection of some craft brews but limited to 2-3 bottles per beer. Throw back MTV videos on the tv. Would rate higher but the place was empty or closed everynight and they still have a cover charge.

Fully deserves the 5 star rating. Satoshi is a gem, so fun to chat with and creates an amazing, positive vibe in his tiny bar. Bonus is that he had a ton of wonderful recommendations for things to do in Tokyo and sent us off with souvenir photos! Will be recommending this place to all our friends who visit Tokyo.

Had a great time here on a quiet Thursday night. Drinks were great, the company was great and the atmosphere was great. I would recommend this bar for any tourist who needs a nice place to chill out. Also Satoshi (the owner) has great English and is happy to help you out.

Very cozy, local atmosphere. Even though it's quite small, it's a comfortable place to walk into for the first time and just chat with the bartender and his regular customers. The bartender here speaks English, and he's got a nice variety of gin and rum.

Disingenuous owner who doesn’t pour proper drinks nor accurately records how many the customer have had. Overpricing and watered down drinks are rife.. Avoid.

Small place but with a very friendly owner Satoshi!! He can suggest u a good test abt some good Japanese whskys!!Price are reasonable too and with extra bonus with some drink sometimes!! Must try his hot whisky in Winter period…it will warm u up right away~

I cannot pay enough compliments to Bar Flat. Starting with Satoshi-San, what a good dude. Fluent in English and a great mediator to keep the cultural exchange between locals and travelers like myself at the bar. A finely curated selection of craft beer, liquor, and house made concoctions makes for a good time. Try the Tokyo Mule, its absurdly good. The bar is cozy and inviting with good tunes playing softly through a vacuum tube amplifier. Top, top notch. I hope to pay a visit again soon. Domo Arigato Satoshi-San!

We had a really nice time here on our last night in Tokyo. We could easily have stayed for two more hours but had to go pack our bags. Splendid service and nice drinks! Would definitely recommend.
