Very nice ambiance complemented by nature including vegetation, flowers and a tranquil environment. It is good for lunch, afternoon and evening chill out. Sumptuous music is always playing in the background in a low volume. I would recommend for both solo and group hangout. The menu is abit pricy but fit for the category of people that visit this place (middle income earners). The menu also has a variety of dishes, in my case I chose pork chops and pork ribs, they where well made but I will still compare it to alchemist restaurant which is so far better let me elaborate; the pork @ hickory still has that pungent smell of the live pig so my thinking is that maybe the meat got is from local dealers and so its not marinated well or for enough time.( I have also noticed this when I purchase pork from one supermarket in muyenga then from local pork joints) Otherwise service was exquisite 👌 place is clean and well organized, has a variety of sitting spaces to fit your mood.

I recommend this place to everyone visiting Kampala. You'll get value for money. The food was superb! The personnel was not only professional, but also very friendly! Definitely Coming again

This place is simply gorgeous, cozy and has delicious meals. It's really clean so that's a plus. I did not give this place 5 stars simply because there is a bit of a delay with the food and quit crowded on Friday evenings which can be overwhelming. Other than that, would totally recommend.

If you are into pork, Hickory has quite the variety of recipes, I recommend the Uganda organic pork chops that come with organically grown veggies and plantain, mushroom soup.... these tasted really good,were tender, and are a good portion. If you are not into very spiced pork this is ur go to... that being said the management was helpful in enabling me pull off a surprise birthday and for bending your rules slightly make a customer happy I can highly recommend anyone to dine here.

I recently dined at the hickory restaurant that truly impressed me with its exceptional ambiance, cleanliness, and spacious layout. Unlike many congested dining establishments in Kololo, the hickory restaurant had ample space between tables, allowing for a comfortable and private dining experience. The attention to cleanliness was evident, with spotless tables, polished silverware, and immaculate floors. Overall, I was thoroughly pleased with the restaurant’s commitment to providing a pleasant and hygienic dining environment. With Small but secure parking space, street parking is also allowed and secure.

What a wonderful place. Great food. Outstanding service. I was so surprised. I loved the decor, the atmosphere, it just felt "right". I will definitely go back.

We had the Tilapia Florentine. Was very good overall. One of the fish fillets was a bit dry. Pesto Pasta was also very good. Services was excellent Atmosphere is great. Will definitely be coming back!

Chill, cool restaurant that's has a lovely and friendly staff. Great ambience worthy of a day outing or even a place to bring a date. The place is also in a nice and serene neighborhood. The main challenge is that they have a small parking lot that it will need you to either arrive early or leave the keys with the guard to park your car.

Food was great and the ambience...but the French fries weren't the best this time round I don't know why because I remember Hickory had good fries last time I was there but this time oh my. There was one great waiter called Brian he gave us really good service.

The Hikory Kampala, set in the heart of Kololo, is where a friend and I stopped for lunch just yesterday. It's secluded, and serene; just what we needed on a hot afternoon. The dinning area, quite large, open and airy is a real balm. The decour is rustic and functional to match the general ambience. The food , grilled tilapia served on a bed of steamed vegetables suited my mood and unusually big hunger. A table for two in a corner bordered by a beautiful live hedge answered to my need for"privacy" in a public place. If you are looking for a quiet, airy, peaceful place with tasty wholesome food, I would highly recommend the Hickory Kampala.The prices offering are normal compared to other establishments of the same class, and all the Covid SOPs are observed. The service is good enough and the waiters are polite and efficient. The challenge however, is limited parking space. It took quite some waiting in the hot sun to have my car given enough space for me to leave. Thus drenched in sweat, I left chauffing and and puffing, totally spoiling my peaceful mood. Still, I recommend a visit and hope you will have milder weather.

Got served spoiled pork ribs and the waiter was unapologetic and even denied pork being spoiled when it clearly smelled. Made me pay for spoiled food that I didn't consume. Not even giving guest feed back could get them to apologize at the very least.

The place is good for outing with friends and family has good restaurant, lounge and bar. Good ample packing, well disciplined staff and a well organized layout. It's one of the best places around Kampala and a must vist

It's a lovely place, with good ambience. I love their t-bone steak. The bar is also nice, music isn't too loud meaning you can have conversations with friends as you enjoy the evening.

Such a cozy and lovely place, Which takes all its beauty during the night. I went there with friends recently. The service was fine. I took their Cobb salad 🥗 it was really good, I can't say the same for the dawa tea.

Every time you order takeaway there's something missing. Today, pasta Tuscana is missing sun-dried tomatoes. Even the portion is smaller than usual.

Heavily disappointed in this place considering itt had such good reviews prior to my visit. First off, the parking was full so we had to park outside. On reaching, the place had so many waiters who honestly were not prompt or fast enough, took us 20min to receive the menu. The cocktails we ordered were T for terrible😔. The food took another 30min to arrive, when it did, presentation was okay but the food was not served hot. I enjoyed the pork ribs despite them not being hot. Took us 20min to get the waiters to come take the money. Anyhoo, maybe it was just one bad day.

Ambient environment for dates, private meetings, plenty of space for get togetherd and what not. Parking is a mess. Food is alright. Service is average. Hookah service could be improved, they need new pipes and need to work on their pots or get new ones. Fire alternations need to be better because they come in 20mins apart or more. (YES I DID THE MATH)

The server Robert was absolutely amazing, courteous, respectful and helpful. However I did not like my food. The chicken was horrible and rice so dry. The milkshakes were amazing though

I was attended by a very rude unexperienced waiter Dorothy, I humbly requested her to have our bill broken down as we were a large group And she responded in an arrogant tone that it would make her work difficult, and further more said to me that no waiter would serve me if I requested so . I found this very unprofessional and made my experience horrible . Management kindly look into this the customer service.

This is an exceptional place to dine and enjoy either with your friends, partners of family. I loved the service and atmosphere sincerely. But the food had some issues. First of all, some people don't know and don't enjoy the sauce smeared on the food. Yeah, it maybe the way it's done but not enjoyable by customers. For instance, the Tuscan pork chops were smeared with Tuscan sauce. I would suggest first asking the customers if they would like the sauce smeared on the order or if they would like it at the side. Then another thing is the content inside the food. Some orders like pork steak have allergens like cheese and yet when you are ordering, they don't tell you that there is cheese inside. So I would suggest the service should first explain what exactly is in each order or even the menus can be updated. Then the service can ask if the customers would like to have there's cooked with or without something. That would be much better. Then the parking. I would suggest expanding the parking so that more cars and people can go in because the parking tends to get full. Then there is also the issue of the location. This place is really nice and exceptional compared to where it's located. It is really hard for people to access this place without the use of Google maps. I would suggest relocation to a busier and more congested area with people because it will help the restaurant or business get more and more money. Other than all that, it's a really magnificent restaurant and I would recommend it to people who would like to eat out.
