The gardens consist of a well mantained green grass yard with some fountains and monument. A number of shows and functions are always organised from these gardens. They're owned by KCCA

While staying at the Sheraton (reviewed separately) I decided to take a stroll in the Sheraton Gardens right next door. The gardens are beautiful, clean and well maintained, and they give a bit of a reprieve from the hustle-and-bustle of the city around you. It also has a big water fountain (empty when I visited) as well as some statues spread around including the Independence Monument. If you are in the area it is definitely worth spending some time there, even if just for a quick 10 minute stroll.

A beautiful park. It's supposed to be open to the general public but the Sheraton Hotel security guards are blocking people who are not customers of the Sheraton Hotel. This is corrupt and a misuse of a public space.

Loved this part outside of the gardens. The Independence Monument stands proud... A great historical point of reference. Maintenance is good but can be better.
