Kampala National Theatre

Art

πŸ‘ Fantastic to be back in the National Theatre after so long! Watched a screening of the documentary #BwanaJogoo - The Ballad of Jessy Gitta. Showing by #AfricanMovieNight. This building holds so many memories for so many people but it really does need a little bit of love (AKA a make-over). People often mention space, theatre, good, building, great, parking, Theatre, culture,

Loved the harmony of the place and its surrounding. The place is cool and has enough space i mean the outside place. People always find it relaxing to hang around the place and catch up. The inside part of the theatre is small and can't facilitate many people but its good for small groups.

Fused with global natural beauty portrayed in art. Stunning African aesthetics posted on walls and hanging everywhere like crystal chandeliers... Speak of the atmosphere... Like some golden organic beauty sitting in the midst of Kampala town πŸ₯°... Come catch a sight yourself and leave the moment ...πŸ«‚

The New parliament building built adjacent to the existing building. It’s difficult to view because of the traffic and lack of crosswalks. There are many shops in the theater area. It is a great place to find Ugandan crafts

Enough parking space, its the national theater right opposite parliament. It is spacious enough for meetings, it has a dance hall. It was very fun here.

Looking for a place to unwind from the long week, the National Theatre is a must visit place in the city center with guaranteed satire about the most recent happenings in the country in the most sattle but yet calming 😴 and happy 😊 way πŸ˜€ Every Thursday, the amazing fun factory team with Zizinga, Richard, Mulokole, Bugingo, Kuddz et al will give you quality entertainment at an affordable rate PS: Cameras aren't allowed in the theatre, I took these minus permission

It's all about the history of this beautiful national treasure. Sadly, the space outside this iconic building has been filled with semi permanent retail structures that have compromised its beautiful original design making it look much more congested and less appealing.

It's awesome and interesting, with the Theatre where you get to watch dramatic plays, comedies and they also conduct lots of events like film and culture market event. National Theatre also has an interesting culture village with art pieces, different culture outfits, crafts, jewelry and so many other things.

They have a great team of poeple that are so welcoming and ready to serve. Behind it you will find good hand made crafts which you can't leave without taking atlist one.

It has been a while since I entered this building. Still holds true to every memory. It is quite compact but great for small numbers that need a platform to entertain or even have a talk. Drinks are right outside the theater and a restaurant outside the building.

The place has been abandoned. The parking tolls don't work anymore. I was there on a Sunday evening and there was nothing to really look to.

This is one place I can simply say it's the confinement of Uganda's diverse culture. It's a mist visit for any traveler, local or international doesn't matter. Art and culture are the form the core of this place. Besides the theatre, there lots of activities that can go down here including shopping from a wide range of African crafts and art, learning centres, meeting point, wide parking space, restaurant and bars. It's simply a one stop center.

If you're looking for a place to be after a Hectic schedule at work on a Thursday then Kampala National theatre is the place. I know there Thursdays as Fun factory nights. They have a mini bar and popcorns too incase you come in too early and the show hasn't started yet.(It usually starts at around 8pm). So you can comfortably wait for them to start. #A review for the comedy and clean drama lovers.

Overall, the structures could do with a face lift both inside and outside. Not much has changed from the colonial times. More promotion and showing of national heritage would make it a worthwhile go to place.
